Welcome, Razzball readers to the All-Star break edition of the weekly Underperformer of the Week from our beloved NBA. I debated taking a break this week but in the end, I decided it was best to try to stay ahead of the curve while everyone else has their feet up with hands clasped behind their head.
Winners never sleep.
Therefore, in an unprecedented move I have decided to circle back to a player that I have spotlighted earlier in the season. I prefer to offer you a new player each week but after careful review I was pointed in this direction as I feel that there is a lot of rest of season value to be had in contrast to his current ranking.
This week is a shorty but a goody so let us get right to it.

Brandon Ingram
I want to get right to the brass tax, as Ingram is ranked 158th over the past two weeks. Ingram is not a 158th ranked player, nowhere close. On the season, Ingram is the 66th ranked player behind averages of:
22.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 0.6 steals, 0.5 blocks, and 1.5 threes while shooting 44.8% and 81.6% from the field and line respectively.
Nearly everything is down across the board for the Pelican forward.
15.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 0.4 steals, 0.6 blocks, 0.6 three’s with shooting splits of 43 and 72.7% from the field and line respectively.
That is shocking but there is at least something to point to when looking for a reason why and it is the arrival of CJ McCollum. Usage has been zapped from Ingram much like the Monstars stealing Michael Jordan’s skills and ability. McCollum is loving his life right now and simply taking shots away from Ingram. There will be a recalibration that occurs where we get through this turbulence and steady the plane.
I believe that Ingram and the Pelicans will adjust and ensure that Ingram gets some of his shots back in order to increase his production as the Pelicans work towards securing a playoff spot.
During this break, it’s a fantastic opportunity to buy low on Ingram as his play leading into All-Star week has left a bad taste in his GM’s mouth. I am also of the belief that we will not see Zion Williamson this season meaning there is a path to increased rest of season production for Ingram.
Float those offers out there and take advantage of this opportunity to snag a top 60 player on the cheap.
