Dejounte Murray dominated with 31 points and 12 rebounds as the San Antonio Spurs beat the New Orleans Pelicans, 124-114. Murray practically got anything he wanted all night from pull up jumps to crazy layups as the Spurs controlled this game from start to finish. Alongside Murray, Lonnie Walker scored 17 points, Keldon Johnson added 16, and Doug McDermott finished with 15. With this win, the Spurs remain close in the hunt for a Play-In tournament spot as they sit only one game out of 10th place in the West.

Speaking of the hunt for the Play-In tournament, the New Orleans Pelicans continue to slide down the standings. The Pelicans were actually in the 10th spot before acquiring McCollum but since then, the team is now 0-2 and has now dropped down to 12th. CJ McCollum dropped a season-high 36 points along with 11 rebounds while Brandon Ingram added 22 points. Jonas Valanciunas had an efficient double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds on 7-of-11 shooting from the floor.

Monster night for the backcourt of Ja Morant and Desmond Bane who combined for 51 points as the Memphis Grizzlies pushed their winning streak to five-straight in the 125-118 win over the Charlotte Hornets. Before both fouling out, Steven Adams and Jaren Jackson Jr. dominated on the boards as they both finished with double-doubles. Adams finished with 15 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks in only 15 minutes. Jackson Jr. finished with 18 points, ten rebounds, a steal, and two blocks. The Grizzlies remain undefeated in the month of February and are 8-2 in their last ten games.

After getting a confidence-boosting blowout win over the Detroit Pistons on Friday, this was a humbling game for the Charlotte Hornets. Even with Terry Rozier and LaMelo Ball finishing with a combined 60 points, it still was not enough. Nonetheless, newly acquired power forward Montrezl Harrell had a strong debut with 20 points and nine rebounds on 7-of-8 shooting from the field in 29 minutes off of the bench. This loss bumps the Hornets’ record down to .500 on the dot at 29-29 as they are 1-7 in their last eight games.

The Sacramento Kings advanced to 2-0 since the acquisition of Domantas Sabonis as they beat the Washington Wizards, 123-110. This was an all-around team effort on the offensive end for the Kings, De’Aaron Fox led the team with 26 points. Sabonis nearly recorded a triple-double with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists. Harrison Barnes added 21 points while Maurice Harkless rounded things out with 17 points and eight rebounds. Since entering February on a seven-game losing streak, the Kings are now 4-2 in their last six games.

In spite of the loss, the Washington Wizards finished with seven players in double-figures. Kyle Kuzma led the way with 22 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. After just barely escaping with the win against the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday, the struggles for the Wizards continue as this loss is their fourth loss in six games.

Rookie guard Bones Hyland knocked down a big three-pointer with 2:16 left in the game to lift the Denver Nuggets into the lead as they squeaked past the Toronto Raptors, 110-109. Hyland finished with 11 points in the game. Nikola Jokic led the charge with 28 points and 15 rebounds. Rounding things out, Jeff Green scored 19 points and Aaron Gordon added 13 points. After starting February off 0-3, the Nuggets are now 3-1 in their last four games.

Heartbreaking one-point loss snapped an eight-game winning streak for the Toronto Raptors. Nonetheless, Pascal Siakam scored a season-high 35 points and ten rebounds. Fred “All-Star” VanVleet added 25 points and Scottie Barnes pitched in 17 points. VanVleet had a chance to steal the win with 12.2 seconds left, but he missed the potential game-winning three followed by an OG Anunoby put back attempt that got blocked by Jokic. The Raptors look to get back in the winning column as they head out to New Orleans to face the Pelicans in their first game of a five-game road trip.

Joel Embiid put on a show in dominating fashion with a 40-point triple double to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to the 103-93 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. This night’s biggest highlight came in the form of a monster poster-dunk by Embiid over one of the league’s top shot blockers in Jarrett Allen. Tyrese Maxey was Embiid’s Robin in this one as he added 16 points. The 76ers are 2-0 since getting the news that they acquired James Harden before the deadline. The team still is awaiting his debut, but Harden did touch down in Philadelphia earlier yesterday morning which should be exciting news for Philly fans.

This loss snapped a four-game winning streak for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Nonetheless, the team finished with six players scoring in double-figures. First time All-Star Darius Garland led the team with 27 points while Jarrett Allen added 13 points. Evan Mobley had a solid night as well with a near double-double with 11 points and eight rebounds. Quiet night for the newly acquired Caris LeVert who finished with 11 points and six assists in 31 minutes off of the bench. The Cavaliers look to bounce back as they head to Atlanta to take on Trae Young and the Hawks.

The Miami Heat pushed their winning streak to five straight games as they took down the Brooklyn Nets, 115-111. Yet another “everybody eats” game for the Heat as seven players finished in double figures. Bam Adebayo led the team with 19 points and 14 rebounds while Duncan Robinson added 17 points with five threes. Tyler Herro also had a strong game off the bench with 15 points and seven rebounds while going a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line. The veteran duo of Jimmy Butler and Kyle Lowry each finished with 13 points apiece. Miami remains atop the Eastern Conference at 36-20 as they sit a game and a half ahead of the Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Milwaukee Bucks

The losing woes continued for Brooklyn Nets as this loss pushed their streak to 11 in a row. Kyrie Irving led the way with 29 points and rookie guard Cam Thomas added 22 points off of the bench. Rookie Center Day’Ron Sharpe also had a strong game as he finished with ten points and a team-high 12 rebounds in 27 minutes off of the bench. This team continues to slide down the standings as they now sit in 8th place with a record of 29-26. They do have reinforcement coming with Seth Curry and Andre Drummond who they acquired in the Harden trade. Brooklyn is still in search for their first win in over two weeks as they host the Sacramento Kings on Monday.

Reggie Jackson and Terance Mann combined for 45 points to lead the LA Clippers to the nail-biting 99-97 victory over the Dallas Mavericks. Marcus Morris also had a strong offensive game as he scored 20 points while shooting 9-of-18 from the field. This win is payback considering they just gave up 51 points to Luka Doncic two days prior in a 112-105 loss. This win also snaps a three-game losing streak for the Clippers.

Despite the loss, Luka Doncic finished with yet another insane stat line with 45 points, 15 rebounds and eight rebounds. He also had the chance to steal the game as he just barely missed the potential game winner as time expired in regulation. The Phoenix Suns continued to flex their dominance as they destroyed the Orlando Magic, 132-105. Phoenix finished the game with nine players scoring in double figures as Devin Booker led the way with 26 points. Chris Paul continued to show off his masterful facilitation skills as he finished with 15 assists. Deandre Ayton finished with a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. You know the Suns were clicking on all cylinders because newly acquired Aaron Holiday and Torrey Craig combined for 24 points off the bench in their Phoenix debut.

It wasn’t pretty but the Orlando Magic did have three guys finish with double-doubles. Jalen Suggs led the team with 20 points along with ten assists. Wendell Carter added 14 points and 11 rebounds while Chuma Okeke chipped in 15 points and ten rebounds in 26 minutes off the bench. This is their second straight loss to a team at the top of the Western Conference and things are not going to get any easier as next up they will be heading to Denver to face Nuggets.

The Splash Brother combined for 57 points to spoil LeBron James’ momentous night as the Golden State Warriors defeated the Los Angeles Lakers, 117-115. First time All-Star Andrew Wiggins added 19 points and rookie forward Jonathan Kuminga had a big night as he finished with 18 points and nine rebounds. This win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Warriors, but they won’t be leaving Los Angeles just yet because they have the LA Clippers up next on the schedule.

In the loss, LeBron James passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most combined points in the regular season and playoffs. James recorded his 44,152nd career point on a three-pointer in the third quarter en route to finishing with 26 points, 15 rebounds, and eight assists on the night. James actually had an opportunity to tie this game but fell just short as he missed two of his three free throw attempts with two seconds left in the game. Alongside him, Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis combined for 35 points, and each grabbed seven rebounds. The bench trio of Talen Horton-Tucker, Austin Reaves, and Malik Monk combined for 42 points. But it all just wasn’t enough. The Lakers did not make any moves at the trade deadline and this loss pushes their losing streak to three straight games. Nonetheless, congratulations to LeBron James who continues to etch his name on every page of the NBA record books.
