2017-18 RCL Basketball Update: Week 6

In 2029, the planet GJ 273b will receive a message that could change the lives of the inhabitants there. That is, if life does in fact exist. This month METI (Messaging Extraterrestrial Intelligence) and the organizers of Sónar (a music festival), announced they had sent a series of missives towards Luyten’s star, which GJ 273b orbits. The message consists of mathematical operations and, of course, music. The team plans to send messages to thousands of other stars. Maybe we can find the planet of Giannis Antetokounmpo. This season, he is averaging 29.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 1.8 blocks. Since 1973, only three players have done something similar.

Luc Mbah a Moute had a +57 in plus/minus against the Nuggets on Wednesday, which marked the highest mark in the past 20 seasons.

Last Friday, LeBron James (the key player in our team of the week), notched his 57th career triple-double. James finished with 27 points, 16 rebounds, 13 assists, and three blocks. Only Larry Bird did so (two times), and without the blocks, only four players in the last 25 years have had 27-16-13.

It is no coincidence that the Team of the Week had LeBron James on the roster. James was the number one player in fantasy with 26.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 8.7 assists, 3.3 3pts, one steal, and 1.3 blocks during that span. Add Trevor Ariza with 5.5 3pts, Klay Thompson with 4.0 3pts, Aaron Gordon doing well across the board, and DeAndre Jordan with his line and 75% from the free throw line and the result is a Tomahawk.

Here is how the action went down in Week 6 across our 12 RCL Leagues:

Experts League: We have a new leader, SON with a 7-2 victory. Dinasty Deep Dive had a strong performance is now third, only one point behind. Very few moves in the free agency, as Krishna Ligas adding Allen Crabbe was the most interesting.

Straight Cash Homie: Another week, another win for Pikachu, who leads by four points.

Straight Cash Homie 2: The top three teams had great wins: Cronos Black Metal (7-2); Beamer (6-2) and Brow’s full 82? (7-1). Slack-Jawed Daps lost one point and is now fourth. porno4mumu adds Rudy Gay for Gorgui Dieng, a good move (right now); and thinking of the future Beamer bought Josh Richardson for Jeremy Lamb. Richardson has struggled lately, shooting just 35.3 percent. He has nice upside and is still doing well in steals (1.2), 3pts (1.2) and blocks (0.7).

Straight Cash Homie 3: In the most important game of the week Vengeful Hoopdies defeated Muggsy Bollers and now leads by 2.5 games. I liked a lot of the acquisitions: Courtney Lee and Marco Belinelli (Klark Shark), Buddy Hield (Boogie’s Low Ceiling) and Greg Monroe (Vengeful Hoopdies).

Straight Cash Homie 4: Nevitt’s Polyester holds onto first place with the fifth-placed team only three points behind.

Straight Cash Homie 5: Our second 9-0 come with Hals’s Team and also the first place. He made two interesting acquisitions with Dirk Nowitzki and most especially Courtney Lee, over his last five games, averaging 14.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.6 treys. Hello World!! is on a roll and is seventh on the table.

Straight Cash Homie 6: With two defeats in a row my team TonyRP 4 is fourth, and Evil Empire, our Team of the Week, is the leader, with My curry too spicy! winning 6-2 only 0.5 points behind. Evil Empire was the most active team adding Mario Chalmers, Al-Farouq Aminu, Jeremy Lamb and Larry Nance Jr.

RAZZblueBALLS:  GasOl(d) Anthem lost 3-6 and is now third. Mamba is the new leader.

BBQ Mousetrap: Panchos 2.0 remains the top team but Hilldale Honey Bees with a strong victory 7-1 is only three points back.

Italy vs Razzball: ! lost (4-5) and Stuck in Saigon 2 (7-2) is only 2.5 points back. Chicaghiamo Addosso made good acquisitions by acquiring JJ Redick, Wilson Chandler and Larry Nance Jr.

No Punt Intended:  The top three teams are only separated by 0.5 points, with Dicks Out 4 Harambe the overall leader. Well done, Bad Bandidos for adding Buddy Hield.

Dynasty Deep Dive: Union Olimpija won 8-1. This was the best victory, in one of the most competitive leagues, so far. A tough victory by ELITE over Bareaking Bad (7-2), at first sight, the match of the week, but with a brutal week by Stephen Curry and Jeff Teague, it seems an easy win.
