No no no, that’s not some sort of euphemism for not flushing… Victor Oladipo had a unreal game last night, almost giving the Magic enough to beat the Bulls in tres overtime. I watched this game and was making all sorts of Oladipo highlights slashing to the rim. Ended up with a 35/4/8/3/1 line shooting 15-24 with a trey. Career-high alert! And it wasn’t due to the minutes (58), he only scored 2 in the 3 OTs I believe. Did boost his dimes by a few though… A guy I was extremely steadfast about holding onto and buying low is paying out your quarterly dividends. Well, it would be more like bi-weekly dividends, but if a stock did that I want in! The 8 TOs last night was a bugaboo, but just part of VO’s game. He’s going to continue to get these big minutes and touches for the duration. Pumped to see him finish out his rookie of the year campaign. Here’s what else I saw in a busy night of NBA hoops:
Jordan Crawford – Traded to the Warriors to be a backup G scorer. Remember when we constantly talked about him as a sell-high?! Because I hope you followed suit! Lost virtually all his fantasy value. Droppable in even 14-teamers. Really no other fantasy impact with the trade, Toney Douglas lucks out and gets a chance at a ring in Miami in the 3-team deal and Boston gets more draft picks. Boring!
James Johnson – Oh man, was this a line last night! Is he the best J. Johnson in the NBA right now? Maybe! 7-13 for a huge 15/6/5/2/6 rainbow with no TOs. One of the sauciest lines of the year from a bench player. Got 29 minutes, but there are a lot of factors to consider. Marc Gasol only got 15 minutes playing the second game of a back-to-back right after injury, and the hapless Bucks threw up some lousy shots. On top of that, Zach Randolph was cold and the Grizzlies knew this would be an easy win. Johnson was even 2nd in minutes to Mike Conley! Doubt that happens again this year barring several major injuries. I know it’s near impossible to ignore a guy with three straight rainbow lines, but Gasol will get his starting minutes at some point and Tony Allen is going to be back as well. Don’t get me wrong, I love his game and he looked great last night, but it’s just a full team. Still not ready to drop good players for him in 10 and 12-ers.
John Henson – Do you know the Muppet Man?! 8/13/2/1/1 and looked great. Larry Sanders logged a dub-dub in 38 minutes, and while Ersan Ilyasova boarded well too with 13 rebounds, he shot 2-11 for 4 points. Give us a Henson/Sanders front court already!
Giannis Antetokounmpo – Started at the 3 and did bad. All his numbers say he should be starting at the 2. And yet, Larry Screwballs goes with Luke Ridnour. It’s like playing against a 2K14 team on easy against the computer. Giannis did rack up 4 fouls though, but Ridnour leading a rebuilding team with 43 minutes?! Disgrace.
Courtney Lee – Cooled off for 9 points with a trey but no other stats. Think it was a bit of fluke. Still 12-team worthy in my book, I’m bullish. Especially until Allen is back.
Tony Snell – If this dunk doesn’t get you excited, on top of his ability to hit threes, then nothing well! Really like this kid in dynasties, I feel like I’ve said that 15 times.
Jimmy Butler – Bulls rainbow line #1 – 21/7/6/2/2. Great game in 3OT.
Joakim Noah – Bulls rainbower #2 – 26/19/6/2/2. One board away from a Goromotaro! The name sake! So close!
D.J. Augustin – 40:01 to Kirk Hinrich‘s 25:39. DJ was so much better… 19/5/9 with three treys in a solid game. Should be owned in almost all leagues right now, this is his team to PG.
Jameer Nelson – Was great all game even without extended to the 3OT. 31/6/10. Only 3-13 from deep, took a ridic 30 shots, but great game. Did have some hamstring cramps in the last minute of that third overtime (played 55 minutes), so stay tuned to his Friday status.
Tobias Harris – Playing like it’s the 2nd half of 12-13! 22/16/2, and this rebound to 1-on-5 pull-up J has me thinking he’s got all his confidence back. Not sure why that one stuck with me, but just did…
Spencer Hawes – Big game against the terrible Bobcats, but soon to be awesome Hornets. 17/14/7 with three treys. Had a little three game lull there, but nice past three after that.
Greg Oden – Oh Em Gee! He’s back pick him up in all leagues! Haha, 6/2 with a nice dunk and great to see him back. He seems like a cool dude.
Nene – Rainbow line! I said he was a virtual must-own if he’s going to start and get 30+ minutes. 35 last night for 19/4/9/2/3 as the Wiz dismantled the Heat. I imagine Nene quoting Arnold from Batman and Robin in 4th quarter smack talk. “What killed the Dinosaurs, Brontosaurus Bosh?! The Ice Age!”
Jared Sullinger – I even said we needed more Goromotaros! Noah was barely off, but Sully made it! 25/20/4/2/0 with a trey and no TOs. Remember when I said you should hold onto him, because I sorta did! And I feel definitely right!
Avery Bradley – No Jordan C and a whopping 21 shots for me! 8-21 for a pretty empty 20/5/1/2/0 line. Shocking to me he has 20+ Pts in 3 straight, but if you need scoring, I don’t see it stopping even with Rajon Rondo right around the corner.
Phil Pressey – Handed out a dimebag without scoring! Tough to do! Rondo is about here, so nothing to see…
Javaris Crittenton – Speaking of dimebags, Javaris was caught with real-life ones! Kinda makes you sympathize with Gilbert Arenas a little bit… He needed his gun for safety!
Patrick Patterson – The Raptors bigs were collectively terrible last night. 2/4/2 off the bench in 20 minutes after I endorsed him. Not sure why he didn’t get more run with Amir Johnson not doing much either… Bleh.
Terrence Jones – Beast mode! 25/8/1/1/6. He’s like, “James Johnson ain’t got nothing on me for best off-the-radar PF this year! I can get 6 Blks too!”
Eric Gordon – As Matt Damon would say in Promised Land, “What the Frack?!” 35/3/6 last night with 6 treys. His best line of the year, topping his season-high by 8 Pts. Hope you had him in your line-up!
Brian Roberts – Remember when I scoffed?! I scoffed so hard! 10/1/4 in 30 uninspiring minutes. Told ya, folks.
Rudy Gay – I was doing highlights for this game at first, but switched at the last minute. Missed Gay’s 33/5/6/2/1 huge game. Which happened to be against my REL team… Sigh…
DeMarcus Cousins – After a huge one, 20/11/0/0/1 with 5 TOs. Love the dub-dub though!
Isaiah Thomas – Not that you had much time in a 24-hour window, but I said yesterday he had bad games in 2 of 3 and worth a buy low. 10-16 26/3/7/2/0 last night. 7 TOs is no good, but hope someone, if only one person, got helped by that!
Alec Burks – Another good game. Yesterday I said “Worth a stream if Hayward misses again Wednesday, but he is traveling with the team.” If anyone was able to key in on Gordon Hayward being inactive, you got a solid 20/5/4 game. Hopefully that helped… one person! Just one! At least!
Enes Kanter – Went off for 25/11 shooting 12-15. Dub-dubs in 3 of 5 and about to re-take the starting role from Marvin Williams. I’m shocked he’s already owned in 69% of Yahoo leagues though… Very shocked…
Kawhi Leonard – Rainbow line! 15/7/6/3/2 with two treys and one block off from rainbows in 3 straight. Patience comes to those who wait. Or something like that…
Nick Young – I think he was taking out his frustration on me after calling him a scrub yesterday. Megalomaniacal much, JB?! Maybe! Welll-cccommmmeee to the Suspppennddeddddd zone!
Kendall Marshall – Can’t not get dimebags. Another 13 assists, but that ugly shot for 4-16 reared its ugly head…
Wesley Johnson – Still not quite in the 12-team conversation even after a nice 22/5/1/2/1 line last night. Hit two treys as well. But there’s still the Doh-toni factor. But a definitely must-own in any deeper. El Burro and I agree! Even if I start two straight sentences with “but”…
Goran Dragic – Just having an incredible year. 18/10/7/2/1/a Nick Young punch last night. Awesome.
Gerald Green – Leandro Barbosa sat out last night in a great “curse of the Razzball open” injury, and Green was hot for 12-18 28/7/2/2/1 near rainbow goodness.
LaMarcus Aldridge – I feel like I’ve always underrated him fantasy-wise while always love him in real life. 32/18/4/1/0. M-V-P! M-V-P!
Robin Lopez – I feel a lot better about pooing on Lopez though! 8/4/0/0/1. The rebounding numbers going down, really bad games in 2 of 3, he’s on thin ice.
Anderson Varejao – Now, to a lanky huge guy with flowing jerry curls I can get behind! 8/14/4/3/2 in a dandy rainbow. All while shooting an efficient 4-7.
Wilson Chandler – Welcome back to the opening tip! 22/6/1/1/3. I had him in REL… And lost him in a trade… And of course he gets healthy now against me… Sigh…
J.J. Hickson – A guy I feel like I’ve always had to defend. 13/24 last night. Monster on the glass!
Evan Fournier – With Chandler getting 39:04, Fournier all the sudden was down to 15:16 of PT. Randy Foye was hot too. I’m still bullish for the French Virgin.
Nate Robinson – Does what the most annoying player in the NBA does. Gets hot here and there then disappears. Kinda like the sex drive of your wife in a long marriage…
J.J. Redick – A real hot dookie last night! 33/3/5 and 7-9 from deep. Can’t really say he’s not healthy now! Must own in virtually all leagues.
Darren Collison – A solid 13/4/10 line with a trey. Has been pretty baller. Be glad you got him where you could!
Brooklyn “at” Atlanta – Playing in London this afternoon, tip at 3:00 EST. So be sure to set your line-ups if daily line-ups lock after the first game, and/or get your Hawks and Nets in there.
Next Game: TNT Overtime is back! It’ll be great doing the TNT OT highlights again tonight for NYK @ IND. I actually think this will be a pretty good game. Again, be sure to check your line-ups with the game in London and I hope everyone had a big night with a full line-up!
