2017-18 RCL Basketball Update: Week 11

Sports in the 20th century inspired many dramas, thrillers and comedy films.”Rocky”, “Raging Bull” and “Slap Shot” became instant classics. Now in the 21st century, we have many dramas, many many thrillers and some comedy in our leagues. Injuries are a drama, and we have a lot this season, one after another. Players with O (out) and GTD (game time decision) are usual on any team, and if you drafted Willy Hernangomez or acquired Jahlil Okafor in the waiver… no more words.

Experts League: Tarch Tadness is the new leader with a great victory 8-1 over Krishna Ligas, and SON with an easy win jumps to third place. Crusty, with three wins in a row, is already in playoff position.  Tarch Tadness acquired Ranjo Rondo a few days before making history. He had the most assists in a game since 1996, only six other NBA players have reached that mark in a single game. I think Mel made a mistake dropping Milos Teodosic for Tyus Jones.

Straight Cash Homie: We will have a lot of excitement about who will go to the playoff, but first place is clear. Pikachu is not looking back. I like the move by Pikachu adding Marquese Chriss. It’s too soon to say Chriss has arrived, but his upside is very high. Over the last week, he averaged 10.7 pts, 9.3 rebs, 1.3 stls, 1.3 blks and 1.7 3pts.

Straight Cash Homie 2: New leader, jasper’s Team jumps to the top and Slack-Jawed Daps is now second. Well done Beamer buying Marquese Chriss and Cronos Black Metal acquiring Jordan Bell.

Straight Cash Homie 3: Onions! is the lonely leader winning 7-2 over a strong team in Muggsy Bollers, but the last retains the playoff spot. With Lonzo Ball out for at least a week, Boogie’s Low Ceiling made a good acquisition with Jordan Clarkson.

Straight Cash Homie 4: Great victory by get picky with it. 5-4 over Victory DirtWolves for the top spot. The key was Tyreke Evans, as he has been a top 10 player over the last two weeks and a top 25 player this season.

Straight Cash Homie 5: Few surprises this week. The top five teams all won. Hals’s Team won 7-2 over SCH5-Celestial Being. Two great adds by Ala Kings on Christmas Day with JJ Redick and Milos Teodosic. Milos should be owned in all of our leagues, and with Blake Griffin returning, his assists per game will increase. Over the last week, he averaged 9.5 pts, 4.5 rebs, 8.5 asts, and 2.0 3pts.

Straight Cash Homie 6: Amazing win by Evil Empire over my team TonyRP4 to consolidate the leadership. Kraft Dunk’d made a good deal adding Jordan Bell for Bobby Portis. John Wall and Allen Crabbe were traded to Sky’s The Limit and Andrew Wiggins and Kris Dunn to Whole Nother Level. Clearly, Sky’s The Limit wins with this trade. John Wall will return to his top 20 value soon, a very distant place for Andrew Wiggins (who only offers points) and Kris Dunn, a top 60 player in points league, but in 9cat he kills your team in FG% with 43.4 and especially in FT% with only 67.2.

RAZZblueBALLS: Another duel at the top, GasOl(d) Anthem beat Mamba, helped by Marc Gasol‘s big week. This is the first lost for Mamba this season. Marcus Smart and CJ McCollum were traded to Connor’s Team and Aaron Gordon and Thaddeus Young to Pass it to the Greek. I like the Pass it to the Greek side.

BBQ Mousetrap: More Sonics Please was defeated by The Kingsmen, but he’s still the leader. Durrant me a Title with a 7-2 victory is now only 2.5 points behind. I traded Jordan Bell and George Hill to Mouse and I received Evan Fournier. George Hill is a roller coaster this year and Jordan Bell is a great surprise. Through the last two week, playing around 20 minutes per game, he averaged 8.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.6 blocks with great percentages (58.3 %FG and 76.5 %FT). But my neighboring Evan Fournier is a potential top 30 player this season. Time will tell if this is really true.

Italy vs Razzball: Stuck in Saigon 2 beat The Wakefield Case 5-3. He was the only team in the top three that was victorious this week. He also added Jabari Parker.

No Punt Intended: Our team of the week is Newbie for third time this season and is only 1.5 points behind another strong team in basketballsacks. Newbie has two top ten players this season (James Harden and Jimmy Butler) and another two in the top 25 (Tyreke Evans and Jayson Tatum). effi’s Peerless Team made a great purchase with Kelly Olynyk. Spoelstra said recently he wants Olynyk to take more 3-pointers. He should continue to play minutes alongside Hassan Whiteside, and we should see a ramp up in 3 points.

Dynasty Deep Dive: Pete Reye’s Team with a great win 8-1 jumps to the second place, helped by the defeat of TonyRP 5 and the draw between Union Olimpija and ELITE.
