Just drafted. Im in a 14-team, H2H league that has 11 cats (DD’s and Team Wins).. you guys helped me win two years in a row.. this will be my Trifecta!!!! Check the Team: Let me know what you think…i had KD and Curry as a hold over from last year but we could only keep 1 player.. so I traded KD to a new owner for better draft picks. LIKE A CHAMP!

    In order of picks:

    1- Steph Curry (Keeper)
    15- John Wall
    42- Victor Oladipo
43- Rudy Gobert (couldnt resist the improved FT%)
    46- Nikola Jokic
70- Chandler Parsons (really dont like parsons frailty.. but hey.. had to gamble)
    71- Tobias Harris
99- Jordan Clarkson (took him thinking he was a SG, but nope.. not in ESPN)
    126- Robert Covington
127- MKG (I think everyone overlooked that he was injured most of last year, hoping he’ll outperform this draft position )…
154- Dion Waiters (needed a SG at this point)
    155- Bizzy Biyombo
182- Ivica Zubac (dropped him) Matthew Dellavedova (got him off waivers yesterday) lol

Hello JB. Greetings from Germany love your Casts!

We just started a H2H Keeper League, 10 man, 9cat. I got the 9th pick.

    9. Greek Freak
    12. Hassan Whiteside
    29. Isiah Thomas
    32. Andre Drummond ( so i went full punt now )
    49. D’angelo Russell
    52. Nerlens Noel
    69. Chandler Parsons
    72. Evan Fournier
    89. Clint Capela
    92. Ben Simmons
    109. Elfried Payton
    112. MKG
    129. Eric Gordon

I missed on another safe FT-Punt guy like Gobert or Dwight (went pretty high 68). Not so sure about Capela anymore with Di Antoni liking Nene and Hazell alot…we are going to keep 4 guys so i reached for Ben abit, plus we got an IL so i get to pick another guy from FA ( thoughts about WCS?)

Best regards and keep your awesome work up!

Hey guys, from just this past weekend here’s my annual redraft deep roto league with different cats (mins, fgm, ftm, 3s, pts, oreb, dreb, ast, stl, blks) 17 teams 23 roster spots (15 with 8 bench spots).

    1. (3) James Harden (Hard to pass him up with no to’s and fg% to worry about)
    2. (32) DeMar DeRozan ( wanted to lock freethrows down)
    3. (37) Blake Griffin
    4. (66) Dwight Howard
    5. (71) Jusuf Nurkic (knew I would miss him if I let him fall any further)
    6. (100) J.J. Redick (needed threes, maybe a wrong pick)
    7. (105) Dwyane Wade (confident I could handle missed games)
    8. (134) Will Barton
    9. (139) Emmanuel Mudiay (like Elfrid is sooo much better with % and to’s)
    10. (168) Mirza Teletovic (needed more threes)
    11. (173) Marcus Morris
    12. (202) JaMychal Green
    13. (207) John Henson (Is this finally his year slim?)
    14. (236) Brandon Jennings (pg gets really bad this late and he clearly has a solid role with upside in newyork)
    15. (241) Jaylen Brown (the bench stashing for upside guys begins)
    16. (270) Maurice Harkless
    17. (275) Domantas Sabonis
    18. (304) Sean Kilpatrick
    19. (309) Marquese Chriss (if he gets huge burn in February this type of pick can win these leagues)
    20. (338) JaVale McGee (emergency block help)
    21. (343) Ivica Zubac
    22. (372) Walter Tavares (Dwight insurance because Splitter…really….hahahaha)
    23. (377) Montrezl Harrell (because D’Antoni is weird with bigs and Ryno always misses games)

I think I’ve figured out the best way to describe and defend EMBIIIIIIIID, Slim and JB, for fantasy production and outlook right now he’s looking like the Dieng train of the last two seasons. Instead of Sam Mitchell stopping him from being the best it will be his minutes cap and it’s slow release. Right now it looks like it will be 20 min to start the season and that during the year it will increase, don’t see him getting above 30 but could see him close to thirty by the end of the year. From what we’ve seen in the pre-season if he is between 20-30 minutes during the year he should be able to have the same kind of impact Dieng had these last two years. He’ll have good ft% at a high volume per minutes, with similar reb, ast, stl and blk numbers when you factor in the odd blip game you mentioned Slim where it’s not his night and he doesn’t have time to get those stl and blks. His to’s will be higher but he’ll definitely score more since he’s a focal point already and I think his fg% is a fluke right now with the whole 2 years rust (his post moves looked more natural against Drummond/Boban then they did in his first game against Zeller when he was clearly thinking through everything. The hype train might start getting him over drafted if it gets too out of control (like taking him over Nurkic) but if he’s there outside the top 100 I think he’s one of the most valuable to target, especially with the bigs he’s going against in that range.

@Foreign Affairs: Hell yeah, 377 picks! Love it! About as deep as REL! Minutes is interesting, surprised in those cats Morris and Green fell so low to you. But we’ll review on the Pod!

Yeah sounds like I have EMBIIIIIIIID right around where you’re perceiving him too, right outside the top 100 with mad upside. If I need a big outside the top 100, I think I might take the gamble. Slim sounds a little iffy still

      • Foreign Affairs says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Excited to hear what you guys think 🙂 Before Morris a lot of people started jumping on the grab all the big name rookies/2nd year guys for stashing, with others sticking to the boring old faithfuls. I felt like it was abit early to do that with who was still there, at Mirza Morris turn I was looking at doing Green with Morris but really needed more threes and took the risk which payed off. I think in some circle Green and Morris are falling through the cracks because I think people aren’t taking Z-bo’s bench role seriously, and for Morris are those that were high on Stanley last year and are carrying it over.

Sounds to me like Slim’s feeling the effects of the Philly vortex of uncertainty with too many players with the same role/position and not enough minutes. EMBIIIIIIID seems to be the safest (oh the irony after the last two years) option on the team though since Browns so honest about what his minutes are and there plan going forward.

I think you guys are higher on Grant then others because you’re both looking at his talent, while alot of others either forget he existed with all the focus on trade drama/new arrivals. Or they just don’t believe that they’ll give him minutes with Noel, Okafor, Saric and Simmons there. Have we found the new Occupy Draymond?

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@Foreign Affairs: Some real nice upside last picks. I’ve got my eye on Sabonis, Tavares, and Montrezl in REL. I was surprised $1 Montrezl and $1 Tavares weren’t kept. I don’t see anyway they only go for $1 in the draft with $1350 total to spend on draft day and only a handful of guys with guaranteed minutes. JaMychal #202 doesn’t seem like it should have happened. I bet there were some terrible picks before that. Until Monroe is delt Henson is screwed for min. Plumlee starts, Monroe gets 20+, and all 3 Kidd won’t play at PF. But… once Monroe gets delt, even a 24-26 min bench role for Henson and he could push for 3ish blocks. It’s a good gamble in a super deep league.

      • Foreign Affairs says:
        (link)

@Slim: Oh you stay away from my Sabonis corner Slim, I’ll let you have Zubac and his productive pre-season lol(I don’t understand what the Lakers are doing there after seeing his summer league play). I was really really surprised by that as well, there definitely going to get between $5-10 with how similar players went last year, heck David Lee went for $10….uh that was such a dumb decision by me not repeating that again. I dumped Donatas, to much contract/back drama, because of how Montrezl has looked, heck he’s already eating into Capela minutes. And for Tavares, it’s Dwight his backup is going to get some run at some point and that backup ain’t going to be Tiago Splitter.

Well for JaMychal there was the rookie run of Murray, Bender, Denzel Valentine and Thon Maker lol, the “known vets” Taj, Chandler, Afflalo, Parker, Zaza, Iggy, Tony Allen, the I’m choosing this hope for upside guy instead, Exum, Josh Richardson, Dwight Powell, Frank the Tank, Delly, Crabbe, Kyle Anderson and Dion Waiters. Definitely Terrible picks too though; David West!!, Brandon Wright, Ed Davis, Roy Hibbert.

That was my exact thinking on Henson in a league this deep and at the spot I got him he’s the best way to get blks. Kidd’s refusal to play any of them at the PF makes me feel like despite Thon’s uninspiring pre-season there’s a chance for him this year to get some burn. Unless Jabari/Mirza just gets those minutes and Snell gets more of Khris minutes instead…why couldn’t they have traded $1 Snell last weak before I gave up on him in Chicago’s rotation and dropped him in REL.

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Foreign Affairs: @Slim: @Foreign Affairs: Yeah the minutes are what’s interesting to me for Morris in this format. I’d be pretty rookie-adverse/upside-adverse with that extra cat.

Hah I dunno about #Occupy levels of success for Grant, but the AST are def interesting and he can do it all!

Yeah, love me some Henson 🙂

Dude, I’m with you on Zubac, why not let him play?!?!?! Eesh.

Ughhhhh yeah Snell woulda def been a keeper, timing blew!

          • Foreign Affairs says:
            (link)

@JB Gilpin: I’ve been able to figure out the rest of the Lakers big moves, Ingram needs to come of the bench as he develops, Clarkson as Manu style 6th man, but it’s pre-season at least give him the kind of burn Skal, Pappagiannas and Thon have been getting not dnps.

I was debating up to the wire on Snell but thought he’s not going to get any minutes this year with the Bulls rotation so I might as well cut him loose now since it’s clear he’s not developing in limited minutes, and I’ve never heard any trade rumors involving him ever. Well hopefully he takes a large chunk out of someones budget (last years $28 Justin Anderson) so I can have less competition in the latter rounds for my “sleepers”.

And heck I could probably come close to replacing him with a $1 MCW bid lol.

            • JB Gilpin

              JB Gilpin says:
              (link)

@Foreign Affairs: 100% agree. Makes no sense. Almost like they think they signed Mozgov to 7 years or think there’s 0 chance he fails haha.

Snell had some rumors to the Kings last deadline, but nothing too imminent. This one happened quick! Hah yeah I wouldn’t go $2 on MCW lol

              • Foreign Affairs says:
                (link)

@JB Gilpin: MCW has fallen far from his $29 last year and all the people that were ragging on Hinkie for trading him for a Lakers top 3 protected pick that the sixers still own.

Looking forward to the draft and the pod, I got my rankings all sorted this time so I’m not letting anyone I like slip by me this time in the latter rounds by bidding on “passable” bench big cough Splitter cough this time. You’ll probably see me lightheartedly chripping up a storm in the chat since I’m playing the long game this time with my budget, ain’t letting myself get suckered into bidding in the Randolph, Kobe, David Lee sweepstakes this time.

[Shakes head and crosses Harrell and Tavares off the list of potential $1 guys I was hoping would fall]

I was thinking the same thing with all that money on the board. I counted $1355 for 132 roster slots . Compare to $4000 for 340 spots overall, while only 8 top 100 (per Yahoo) guys available this time around. Gonna be really interesting.

Makes me feel good about keeping so many guys I guess, but I’m really stressing on how my Ryno for Embiid trade works out. I couldn’t have asked for a much better situation than HOU for Ryno, but I’ve had a pit in my stomach the minute I dealt Embiid last year, and the hype train isn’t helping it to go away! Really hoping Rymo doesn’t become my Joe Barry Carroll!

Just drafted in a 12team H2H 8cat league. Had the 5th pick but traded down my first two rounds to get the 10th and 15pick and once again trade my 29th and 44 pick to get 34 and 39th pick.

    10 Lebron
    15 Wall
    34 Gobert
    39 Batum
    53 Fournier
    68 Nurkic
    77 Parsons
    92 Noah
    101 Carol
    116 Otto Porter
    125 Dunn
    140 Al Jeff

Pretty satisfied on how my draft went although i fear that I lack scoring and my bigman stats hinge on a breakout year for nurkic. Any suggestions on how I can improve? Do i drop dunn for a guy like lou will or BigAl for Capella?

You guys like Dellavedova or Ish in a standard 9-cat roto?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Jim: Hah that was a question we did on the Pod. If no limit to roster moves, no FAAB or anything, give me Ish, i think he starts off more valuable, then you figure it out once/if RJax is back. Actually, after I wrote all that I changed my mind. I like Delly’s low TO for roto. Gimme Delly.

@JB Gilpin: @JB Gilpin: @JB Gilpin: for h2h, what about if you throw deron Williams in the mix? Would you say short term ish, but long term deron followed by delay?

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Jim: @miles proudfoot: Yeah I think so, super shallow league I think Ish, Deron, Delly. Deep league I think I’d go Delly (more safety), Deron (injury risk), Ish (R Jax and less replacement value

  15. Dusty says:
    (link)

    Here’s my team, 12 team 9 cat h2h, pick 3:
    Steph Curry
    Darren Collison
    Avery Bradley

    Trevor Ariza
    Chandler Parsons
    Danny Green
    Matt Barnes

    DeAndre Jordan
    Andre Drummond
    Clint Capela
    Nerlens Noel
    Manimal
    Mason Plumlee

Parsons, Noel and Capela have had their outlooks drop a bit recently, but I think the FT punt worked out alright. First week or 2 might be tough with a couple dicey injuries and Collison.

@Dusty: Cool, thanks man, we’ll review on the Pod!

      • Dusty says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Looking forward to it. When healthy I’m thinking FG%, 3s, boards, steals, blocks and turnovers will be pretty tough so I’m hoping the Pelicans training staff stays away from this group from now on.

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Dusty: Hah, yeah no Pelicans so far for me in any drafts, I hope to keep it that way!

    • Dusty says:
      (link)

Avery Bradley should say Marcus Smart. Another on the early injury list. Got JaMychal Green as an injury pickup, nobody is buying the upside on him in this league.

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@Dusty: Ah damn, yeah the Smart injury sucks. Green is pretty close to must own, I still think Z-Bo edges him out for minutes, but multi-cat upside is for sure there!

      • Dusty says:
        (link)

Only Collison was going to miss opening night when I drafted, now Noel, Danny Green, Smart, Parsons likely to miss games too. Hopefully the FG%/REB/BLK/TO push carries me through early with only 1 IL spot. Gives me a groin strain just thinking about it.

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Dusty: Ugh yeah, annoying preseason. Thankfully Parsons is practicing in full! I think he’ll still work out. Keep some ice on that groin!

Razzup! Made a trade in a 12-team 9cat H2H ESPN league to move up from 10 to 2, but gave up a lot of mid round picks. So I pick 2, 23, 34 and then have a bunch of picks in the 70s and 80s. Who would you guys recommend going with for the top 3 picks (assuming Westbrook or Harden goes first). Thanks guys!

    • Jensen says:
      (link)

      @TOPSZN: Harden, Bledsoe/Butler, Favors/Gobert.

      • TOPSZN says:
        (link)

@Jensen: Thanks man! Just saw that ESPN switched Harden to #1. Would you have the same approach with Westbrook?

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Jensen: @TOPSZN: Razzup man?! Harden Bledsoe Gobert would be SICKKKK. I like Curry #1 still though, if you get Curry, then good %s guys as best you can, like Brolo. I’d take either Harden or Curry.

          • TOPSZN says:
            (link)

@JB Gilpin: Sounds like a plan! The thing with Curry is that my league’s fantasy playoffs go right up until the end of the season. Would Curry be a rest candidate at that point in the season?

            • JB Gilpin

              JB Gilpin says:
              (link)

@TOPSZN: Hmmmmm yeah that does make me reconsider. He and Harden are sooooo close… Yeah I’ll go Harden in that case

    C – Gobert
    G – Kyrie Irving

    Util – Valanciunas
    Util – Porter Jr
    Ben – Payton
    Ben – Dunn
    Ben – Barton

    Here’s mine:

12 team H2H Keeper (league transitioned into a keeper. 4 keepers, 5 yrs max)

    Curry
    Dipo
    Smart

    Middleton (IR)
    Fournier
    Gary Harris
    Danny Green
    RHJ

    Nurk
    Jokic
    Dieng
    Kanter
Bjelica (no laughing but needed a big that can shoot 3s and give me some of what I missed with Middleton minus the pts)

Ideally 2 streaming spots from the get go (Smart and Green) but with KMid inj, it looks like it could be 3.

An obvious punt asst team. Was worried about scoring when KMid went down but Nurk might do enough to not lose as much.

Percentages look decent (I think) but my worry is the low attempts of my big scoring guns and those percentages could end up feast or famine if (more like when) Smart chucks up those 3s and Danny Green forgets how to shoot 3s.

Strong in Stls. Will battle in 3s/blks. Avg in rebs. Decent in %ages.

Is Green/Smart worth a swap for JRich/Jerami Grant (or 1 of them for either of the latter?)

Alternative is to see if I can get maybe a Beal or Clarkson or even Colli via a 2:1 of Smart/Green.

JBBBBBBB, don’t know if I should be kicking myself or happy. Got 3rd pick in a $100 8 team 9 cat, team is this:
    Harden
    Davis
    Wall
    Griffin
    Bledsoe
    Drummond
    Jordan
    Parsons
    Fournier
    Collison
    Bazemore
    Nurkic

Wasn’t planning on the Drummond, Jordan picks after drafting harden, but I feel the value was too good. Feel like the FT% category is almost a cat that I can compete for, maybe hardens volume balances it. Same goes for FG% , they balance each other. Idk I feel like i can almost lock down 6 cats a week and compete for 7 maybe 8? Let me know what you think! Was the craziest draft I’ve been in haha

Draft is on Thursday I hope you can give me some advice before then . I am in a 9CAT H2H League with 12 teams. I have the number one overall pick and I am going with Harden.
I am 99% sure that the guy with the pick before me is going to pick Porzingis(to pair with Westbrook). That being said I’m wondering what kind of Parings I should do for the turn at pick 24/25.

Ive been thinking with Harden i have a good chance at prioritizing blocks here. What do you think about these:

Harden/Brook Lopez/ Ibaka (Blocks are amazing, tons of guards later, Ibaka might be Porzingis lite this year?, his FG isnt a hit if I tank it?)

Harden/Kemba/Ibaka (Full tank FG, Im very wary of Kemba not being available here, originally would put Zing here but hell be taken)

Harden/Kemba/Brook Lopez (Lopez is really great even if his FG doesnt matter here, is a better choice than Ibaka if FG is discarded? Lower block and three upside but similar boards and better all around at pts/ast/st )

Harden/Lopez/[Irving or Bledsoe] (maybe kemba and porz are both gone. In this scenario I might not tank FG bledsoe at 45-46% and Irving at 46-47% in his last full year [2015]. Kyrie was top 10 in 2015 when tanking TO on bballmonster and pairing Bledsoe/Lopez might be risky injury wise )

Harden/Brook/Griffin (Goin for FG here. Nice block start from Brook, FG will be competetive with Blake/Brolo combo, great out of possition assists. Somehow I feel like this build is riskier than Brook/Ibaka with the lower blocks but I guess Blake gets as many or almost as many assists as Bledsoe/Irving/Kemba which is crazyyy as a big man. This one intrigues me more and more but is reliant on Blake keeping up 5 APG.)

Im drafting on Yahoo so maybe itll give you an idea of who might be there that I didnt mention. I know im probably higher on Ibaka than you but I dont think his stats are too far off from Porzingis? Also Im clearly in love with Brook Lopez so if you dont think he fits with Harden (or you like Blake or whoever better) convince me!

Sorry for the wall of text, hope you can throw an idea or two my way before thursday! You and Slim are dope!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Rob: Well Ibaka’s blocks have been declining and I just don’t think there’s the same upside. They’re not *that* far apart, but I think at the 25th pick it would be too high for Serge. I def like getting Brook Lopez, gives you REB, BLK, and FG% boost and keeps your FT nice. I think I would like Kemba #1 option then Kyrie #2 as the pairing there, so you can minimize on some TO and keep a pretty well-rounded team at that point. Build some great AST/scoring/big man stats with good %s and that would be my route. Hopefully that helps guide ya some, appreciate that man, we try!

I’m in such a pickle about some of my early roto picks, when doing mocks.

Please rank between KD, Kawhi, CP3, Whiteside and Giannis for 14cat roto (all brd cats, a/to), for that first round pick.

Then please rank between Horford, Brook, Porzi for that second pick.. it’s too damn difficult. I’ve almost always picked Porzi based on youth and upside, but those two other bigs are uber dependable and Horford may even have a tad more personal upside this season, dare I say.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Lasandro: Man Whiteside is sexy, but I’ll go KD, Giannis, Whiteside, Kawhi, CP3. Then Horf, Brook, Porz. Yeah agree on Horford, narrowly like Brook more in H2H, but it’s a coin flip for sure

    • Lasandro says:
      (link)

@JB Gilpin: DAMN IT! I was hoping you wouldn’t put KD and Giannis right next to each other haha! That’s my dilemma and I kinda feel weird when I take KD over him.. guess because I had him last year and he missed all those bloody games.

Woah, I was not expecting Porzi to be third in that bunch, not for roto at least. Any reason why? He’s sure to play a lot of games like th other two, will clear 2+ blks and 3s, lower FG% than the others, brd as much if not more than BroLo, score mid teens, perhaps have more FT volume (although BroLo goes to the line a good bit). Just interested on your take. Any reason he doesn’t end up producing “value” similar to what KAT ended up doing last season?

Ok, REL Dynasty draft in 12min – gotta run!

    • Lasandro says:
      (link)

@JB Gilpin: Holy hell, I just landed the #1 pick!!!!! I dont know who to pick! I have an hour to prep for this – hope you can reply with either Curry, Harden or Russ asap (14 cay).

    • Lasandro says:
      (link)

@JB Gilpin: I’ve mulled over it and, with 14 cats, I’m gonna happily take Harden. He’ll be elite in pts, FGM, FTM, 3PM, FT%, Asts, and v good in A/To and stls (if not elite). That accounts for 8/14 cats. Plus he’ll play, pending any injuries. Lets get this!

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@Lasandro: I like the REB in your format and their FG% over Porzy I think. They’re all like super close though. Hah it’s a little early for me, sorry I might be a tad late! Agree, with more categories to spread out the cats, I’ll go Harden #1 too.

      • Lasandro says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Yay we agreed on Harden! So here’s how it went in my 14 cat roto, 10 teamer. Feel free to talk on pod if you wish 🙂 I’m VERY EXCITE about this squad. Kept Gorgui my promise, after I told him earlier this year (when we met in Saigon) that I’d draft him 😉

        In order..

        Harden
        BLo
        Porzi
        Gorgui
        D’Angelo
        Tobias
        Crowder
        Lin
        Nurk
        Wes
        Noah
        Kieff
        Frazier

      • Lasandro says:
        (link)

@JB gilpin: Wes is honestly the only guy I’m not in love with on my squad because I may have 3s and scoring covered. Upside guys like TJones, Winslow and a few others like taj etc are still in the FA pool. Not sure if I’m light on brds tho because a ton of my guys should brd around 6-8 per. Perhaps I don’t need to change anything! Only 80 waiver moves for the season, so gotta remain disciplined with those.

@Lasandro: Hah nice, CHOO CHOO! Dieng train! Yeah def not making any moves right now. I think your FG% might be a little low, but it’s a pretty well rounded team for your cats! Love your gets of Lin and Nurk 🙂

@JB gilpin: UPDATE: just managed to trade Wes for Avery yaaaaas! Was hoping Bradley would drop but he was swiped before I nabbed Wes. Upgrade in fg% and stls, and I really buy into him improving overall as an offensive player. Think there’s def upside in AST, scoring, and FTs considering how aggressive he’s been in preseason.

@JB Gilpin: Not sure, if you’re going to answer on the pod or not, but additional question: Someone was able to snatch Chris Paul at 16th, so was thinking of floating an offer out. What do you think would be a good offer?

His team is stacked: Chris Paul, Bledsoe, Bradley, Danny Green, Jae Crowder, Paul George, Jokic, Rolo, Frazier, Marvin Williams, Justice Winslow, Cody Zeller and Gordon Hayward

Hey JB, this is the team I drafted last night with friends in our yearly offline draft night. If you guys feel like reviewing it for the podcast, it would be greatly appreciated.

12 teams, 9 cat, H2H (3G, 3F, 2C, 1 UTIL, 3 benchspots and 2 IL). Centers got way, way, way overdrafted so I decided to just stick to my two guys and maybe pick someone up of the wire in the early season. Capela got swiped two picks before I had him lined-up, unfortunately.

    1. (5) Karl-Anthony Towns
    2. (20) Kemba Walker
    3. (29) DeAndre Jordan
    4. (44) Goran Dragic
    5. (53) Jae Crowder
    6. (68) Chandler Parsons
    7. (77) Elfrid Payton
    8. (92) Zach LaVine
    9. (101) Luol Deng
    10. (116) Markieff Morris
    11. (125) Amir Johnson
    12. (140) Matthew Dellavedova

  34. Xavier Henry says:
    (link)

Hi Mr. Gilpin thoughts/comments on how I did with my draft? Had the 8th pick and had Whiteside drop to me on the second round and grabbed him right away. Went for a good all around and my team looks like this:
    12 team H2H Standard 9 cat
    1. CP3
    2. Whiteside
    3. Brook Lopez
    4. Goran Dragic
    5. Fournier
    6. Rubio
    7. Thad Young
    8. Parsons
    9. Rob Covington
    10. Aminu
    11. Josh Richardson
    12. Alex Len
    13. Tyler Johnson

Not a good draft but I mean to make it work. Any feedback or ideas for trades? Thanks a bunch

@Xavier Henry: Hah what’s up Xavier?! Was really cheering for you when had that hot stretch with the Lakers that one time haha.

Agree, this is an awesome well-rounded team! I think your scoring might be a ad low, and 3s maybe a tad low so you’ll be wanting to stream ThrAGNOFs. Mayyyybe rebounds is a smidge low, but that could be fine with Whiteside’s dominance. Nice work!

@Xavier Henry: @JB Gilpin: Ended up running low on time, sorry X man! Mannnn CP3 Whiteside is unfair…. Rubio shored up AST super nice. Filled in good scoring, maybe your 3s are tad low, but I think you did awesome with this one!

@Jason: @JB Gilpin: Barely ran outta time, 1 – love the dimes, nice scoring, Durant Wall in a 14er is a pretty elite combo. Wish you didn’t have to punt FT with DJ, but looks pretty good! 2 – Giannis Millsap is pretty fun too! Man I don’t have much to say on this one, good %s, good TO rate with all the guards, all I can think is scoring/3s maybe a little low, but those are streamable

  36. Richo says:

Hey guys, I love this team, confident of my chances for this season. I keep getting offered Love for my Nerlens, I could probably squeeze a bit more out of the offer. Your thoughts on that trade?
12 team, 8 keepers, 8 cat roto, 90 games max per position.

    My team (with roster positions)

    PG- Curry
    SG- Klay
    SF- Carmelo
    PF- Nerlens
    C- Gobert
    G- Lillard
    F- Gay
    U- Wiggins
    U- Gortat
    U- Ariza

    B- Thong Maker the Aussie
    B- Anus Cancer (Enes Kanter)
    B- Delly
    B- Zaza

What are my stat weaknesses? I don’t like the idea of trading Nerlens because I definitely need the blocks.

    Much love.

@Richo: @JB Gilpin: Ran low on time on the Pod, but let’s see…. I don’t see Thon Maker being a hold. With Noel down, you def could use blocks. Love the scoring and 3s, you’re almost overloaded on 3s. I think some AST could help too

    Hey team,

Great work with the pods and ranks!
    Recently drafted in a 14 team, H2H 9-Cat.
    12 active players, 1IR
Drafted in 9th and went for a hard 4 cat punt of points/3s/ft%/TOs

    9 Lebron
    20 Wall
    37 Jordan
    48 Howard
    65 Rondo
    76 Gordon
    93 Payton
    104 Noel
    121 Capela
    132 RHJ
    149 Holiday
    169 MKG

Added Simmons off waivers once I moved holiday to injury position.

Hoping with my strengths in 5 cats that I can carry 2 active injuries for the first month or two!

Feel I got some pretty decent value on guys late after having to reach for Howard.

Keen to know what your thoughts

@Larry: @JB Gilpin: Appreciate it man! Couldn’t quite get all on the Pod, Wall at 20 is awesome! And def made sense to FT punt, mannnnn you had a nice consistent strategy, I like it. It’s just so hard to punt that much, although scoring could still be OK. FT and TO are goners, it’s just tough to try to win 5-4 all season, as some noise might cost you a win or two then you’re a .500 team. With your FG% so good, I might try to add some 3-pt shooters through the year

  38. Zinger says:
    (link)

Hope I’m not too late to get reviewed on the pod.. I kind of regretted taking Winslow so early, doesn’t look like he’s taking the next step offensively (at least from the preseason). I’m eyeing Jerami Grant (FA) and Marquese Chriss (W) to possible replace Taj, Curry, and/or Winslow. I’m planning on dropping $5 (FAAB) for Chriss, who would you drop for him? Or would you try to pick up both players. Thanks!!

    12 team, h2h, 9 cat, up to 5 keeper
    Harden (Keeper)
    Porzingis (Keeper)
    Kemba (Keeper)
    Horford (Keeper)
    Dipo (Keeper)
    George Hill (82)
    Rodney Hood (94)
    DeMarre Carroll (106)
    Joakim Noah (118)
    Justise Winslow (120)
    Seth Curry (130)
    Ish Smith (142)
    Taj Gibson (154)

    • Zinger says:
      (link)

@Zinger: actually, I’m also eyeing Kyle Anderson as well, with Spurs playing 4 games first week..

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@Zinger: Hopefully we get enough run time to get through these all! I def like Winslow at 120! I would prefer Grant as the add for Curry, then maybe Chriss as your backup, not sure I would rush to add Chriss yet

        • Zinger says:
          (link)

@JB Gilpin: I went with Kyle for the 4 games, Grant got picked up. But with 4 games Kyle should provide me comparable numbers. He could surprise with Green out for a bit. Yeah good call, no one claimed Chriss off waivers, he probably need an injury or two to get enough mins.

          • JB Gilpin

            JB Gilpin says:
            (link)

@Zinger: Ah gotcha, yeah that makes sense. I’m watching Chriss too like a hawk this week, but I think they wanna roll their vets up front out there (Dudley/Chandler) for a while

            • JB Gilpin

              JB Gilpin says:
              (link)

@Zinger: @JB Gilpin: Sorry man, yeah we ran low on time 🙁 So yeah with those keepers, you’re pretty close to a FG punt, and I think you did well drafting off that. Like the Slo Mo add for this week and see where it takes ya… Def need Noah and Taj to get you 2.5ish blocks/per consistently to be good there, but this is a pretty dirty team!

              • Zinger says:
                (link)

@JB Gilpin: no worries man! going to be a fun season!
yeah.. I had to take Hill there since literally alllll of the mid round PGs were off the board, D’angelo/teague/conley/lin/schroder/knight/rjax
Relying on Noah and Taj makes me nervous, which mid/low tier bigs is a fair target for Hill? Maybe Rolo or Kieff?

                  (link)

@Zinger: For sure, luckily you have great PG to start it off with. Rolo, sure! Seems about right. I think I’d pass on kieff though, still uncertainty there and not the best swatter

Sure thing! Prob not doing Pod reviews anymore, but def can help any time in comments! 1 – Yup, AST punt for sure! Although you have some pieces… Not loving the Gallo drain on FG, I might shop him for a PG and your AST could be OK. Try high for Rubio? 2 – Def need RJax back sooner than later! Love the BLK, decent boards, nice % and scoring… Love the Lin pick. Nice squad!
