Wooooo, we’re back baby!  The Razzball Hoops Pod returns from our slumber to check in with the NBA Playoffs thus far, and the impacts it’s making on the upcoming 2016-17 Fantasy Basketball landscape.  We chat Stephen Curry injuries, Jonas Valanciunas‘ strong play before getting hurt, and a surprise stat from Mason Plumlee.  Slim also grills me on my Way Too Early Ranks and then we wrap up at the movies.

I see my fellow razzballers are rejoicing….because…. Skilesss! Lol. With this awesome news about Skiles’ resignation, I guess it’s safe to say that RainbOladipo is now a 2nd rounder!!

I places Dipo on my personal rankings at 30, but now I’m moving him up between the 15-17 range!! However, in my main league, I have the 5th overall pick, so my next chance to pick will come at the 20th, and if my league expands to a 14-teamer, it’ll be at the 24th. IF my turn comes and Dipo is still available at the 20-24 range, I won’t think twice of taking him!

@Dante Green: Woooooo! Yeah he’s gonna go wayyyyy up. I might not quite get him that high, but def right around 20 for me. Yeah 20-24 I think you’d be ecstatic getting him!

Thanks for the shoutout! Yeah man, I was forced to defend B-Lo’s injury-prone tag all damn season and now look at all those GPs! I think his ranking is accurate by you guys.

I’m still wiping the jizz off my screen after reading that Skiles went *Nsync on us – BYE BYE BYE! Fournier has a right to be pissed because there’s now way that he’ll now be the #1 or 2 option of offense now that his butt plug coach is gone. The era of Vucdipordon is upon us! And I just may hold onto Elfrid in our dynasty league now, despite th high price tag. Let’s see how much of a focal point he’ll be under the new coach…

@Lasandro: Any time, we give credit where credit is do!

Hahahaha, man you were VERY excited by the news! Very interesting to see how the new regime shapes this team, but hard not to be very excited for Oladipo, Vuc, and Aaron Gordon. Mmmmm, now I have something to wipe off!

    • Lasandro says:
      (link)

@JB Gilpin: It could be likely that both gordon and Vuc may avergae a dub dub for the season. Surely Gordon will get every opportunity to play 30+min next season and he is an obvious threat to hit the 1.5 stls/1.5 blks mark. I kinda dont see why not he can’t be a young B Griffin with better D and less assists and scoring (maybe around 14-16ppg). Grif used to be a dub dub threat on a nightly basis back in the day.

Elfrid to me is gonna be the biggest question mark and it’ll all depend on the coach coming in. No reason why he cant have identical numbers to Rubio with so much offense around him. What will become of Fournier and, to a lesser extent, Hezonja? They’re not really SFs, on D at least. Would much rather Gordon defending your Brons and KDs of the world.

@Lasandro: Yeah I certainly think so for Gordon. Hmmm, yeah interesting comp to Griffin! I like it!

Agree, Eflrid is such an enigma, what if the Magic go Oladipo back at the 1?! haha. Maybe play it really big, and have Elfrid as a swing guard off the bench and start Oladipo/Fournier/Hezonja at 1/2/3. Be a big backcourt!

While I dream about what a new coach will mean for Oladipo/Gordon, [shivers], what do you think the move to a good defensive coach in Sacramento means for a guy like WCS? I can’t imagine it’s gonna be good for many other guys there since nobody else really likes to play defence from what I can tell.

@A Hill O’ Beans: Isn’t Kouf a pretty capable defender? I agree it helps bump up WCS though. Cousins and Joerrrrrrger gonna get into some yelling matches due to his D!

      • A Hill O' Beans says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: You’re right, I almost forgot about Koufos. He was pretty damn good defensively. They’re also paying him like 8 million bucks a year so. What’s it say about the Kings that behind the three bigs, DMC when he cared, along with WCS and Koufos, that Rajon Rondo may have been their next best defensive player, haha.

        Kings DBPM Leaders
        1.6 DMC
        1.5 WCS
        0.4 Koufos
        0.2 Rondo
        0.1 Gay
        0.0 Acy
        < 0 the rest of the team…

@A Hill O’ Beans: Yeah I thought that Kouf deal actually wasnt bad considering caps expanding. Wow, surprised DMC is that high, I guess all the boards help.

Wowwwww, thats some awful numbers there, I knew there was a reason I was always saying stream vs the Kings! Haha

Actually came to see if you guys were doing any mock draft stuff. Pleasantly surprised the pod’s still going! Lotto happens next Tuesday foos. Looking forward to what you, Slim, and all the pundits have to say about the Celtics’ EIGHT draft picks.

Ihdk what to expect. There’s no way we’re keeping all of them. Roster spots on the Maine Red Claws are suddenly going to be very competitive unless we consolidate our assets or stash some Euro players.

Btw, I initially read the Skiles news as him being resigned, as in signing a new contract. Then I remembered that he was freshly inked to multiyear deal.. Frickin English language.. Needless to say I am over the fucking moon now! NIK, AARON, you are free now! FREEEEEEEEEEE!!!

@Ryan: Hah thanks for the update! I knew it was mid-may I just couldnt remember when. We’ll def be doing a lot of mock stuff once the lotto is done. Crazy they have so many picks!

Yeah maybe they can try to package a few to move up in the draft but we’ll see after the lotto…

Hahahaha yeah resign vs. re-sign… I think I’ve made that mistake in articles before… We all shall rejoice, #FREEGORDON!!!!!!!!!
