Everyone starts off excited to utilize the hours of their preseason studying by applying it to a killer draft and getting the best possible jump on running away with the league and all the glory that goes with it. Then the draft ends and you took Granger and you just know he’s only going to play 65 games this season. And the same guy that won the last three years in a row ripped off the new guy and somehow managed to land Durant and Wade while only giving up Jermaine O’Neal (he’s starting for the Celtics, bro! The Celtics!) and you just don’t see the point of trying. You’ll come in second, maybe third, but you didn’t think anyone in your league was fool enough to … well, to get fooled and so first place is already wrapped up before the season started. Here’s your chance to match skills (or Match Skillz if you’re an after-school special about an inner city tennis team) with people as weary of Jermaine O’Neal as you are. It’s Razzball’s 2010 Commenter Leagues. Come. Join in our reindeer games.
The details are being etched into stone tablets as we speak, but I first wanted to get a feel for how many of you, dear readers, are interested in playing. And of those interested, how many of you are planning on drafting Nate Robinson before the 1oth round (if so, you’re not actually interested). What we know so far is that we’re going to fill up as many fantasy leagues as we can for the next couple of weeks. Each Razzketball league will be a 12 team, 13-player Roto rosters (I know H2H is preferred, but it’s harder to link multiple leagues with H2H) that will shape up like this: PG/SG/G/SF/PF/F/C/C/3 UTIL/3 BENCH. The fantasy leagues will be played at ESPN’s site and they will be free to join. And they will be awesome. And they will come adorned with rubies and amethysts*.
Drop me a line down in the comments so I know how many pints of apple juice and boxes of animal crackers we’re gonna need. If you’re feeling more, uh, covert than usual you can also hit up the ol’ new Facebook page and leave a message there – even if you got nothin’ to say, don’t let that stop you.
