In the preseason, people were asking me if they should take Serge Ibaka in the third round or the fourth round, as if those were the only two options. Sure, he’s great with the blockin’ and all, but I do not consider him a well rounded Center. Last night’s game is about what I expected, although with more rebounds and less blocks: 4 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks. His value all comes down to blocks. If you love his blocks and want them for your team, then he can do no wrong. If you want some meat with your gravy, I’m not sure you see it from Ibaka.
Kendrick Perkins – With 28 minutes as a starter (at Center, no less), he took 2 shots. Made one of ‘em. He had 6 rebounds and a block, which of course was less than Ibaka. Good thing he started at Center, then.
Jeremy Lamb – Did not play (coach’s decision). Sure, why wouldn’t he? It’s not like Kendrick Perkins got 28 flippin’ minutes of crappy poo time (yes, I know they play different positions, don’t take away my rage). It’s okay, I’m sure coach Scott Brooks didn’t want to disrupt his team’s rhythm. With the 37.7% Field Goal shooting, the team couldn’t afford distractions.
Kevin Martin – Off the bench, he played 32 and a half minutes with 15 points, including 3 of 6 from downtown, with 5 assists. That’s decent, and maybe the beginning of a mini-resurgence season. If his butt is on your roster, you better hope so!
Kevin Durant – He had a big game. Surprise, he’s Kevin Durant. if there was more than one game on, I probably wouldn’t be mentioning his 23 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and 1 three. However, I am contractually required to type out at least 400 words per post or else I have to play Jeopardy with David Stern. What is Hurricane Katrina? Mmm, no, I’m sorry, David, the answer was What is Hurricane Sandy.
Kawhi Leonard – Followed up his Halloween game with a lackluster performance of 6 points (0-3 from beyond the arc), 4 rebounds, and 1 assist. Silver lining? 5 steals. It doesn’t really matter what he does for the first week or two, if you drafted him, you’re not dropping him.
Tim Duncan – He’s certainly roaring out of the gates. With 8-19 shooting, he scored 20 points to go along with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Daniel Green – The only Danny Green that isn’t Irish scored 13 points, including 3 of 6 from downtown, and tallied 5 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal.
Stephen Jackson – Threw up…five shots from behind the arc but only hit one. So, basically, he threw up. In total, he scored 11 points on the night to go with 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal.
Tony Parker – His double double (14 points, 11 assists) on the night were capped off with the game winning shot. Has Parker peaked? Quite possibly. Should he be owned everywhere? Uh, yeah.
Jeremy Lin - Neither he nor James Harden played last night, but that doesn’t mean I can’t share this with you, now does it?

I have Danny Granger in a 14 team league, what should I do, hold him, try to trade? What could I get for him? Should I wait til he comes back and then trade him to the first sucka that bites?
@smoketnt, hang on to him, no one will give you anything of value for him right now. If you have IR bench, use it. Wait it out like all those folks who didn’t evacuate early enough.
@smoketnt, I agree with Zebo. Sit tight for a while.
I was counting on George Hill as my 4th starting G, but his hip injury has me a little worried. Should I cuff him with Augustin? It would require dropping either Calderon or Jack. H2H.
@Steve Stevenson, why not just plug Calderon in?
I got “stuck” with dj aug in an auction, i can see George hill Having lots of issues and dj getting some run and possibly stealing that job, he could avg 6+ assists easy….. Stay down George hill
@Tony, The injury may cause him to miss some time but I highly doubt Augustin would steal the job this year. The Pacers gave Hill a sizeable contract worth 8 million a year for 5 years. As long as Hill can play, he will be starting.
@James Redacted, True….. It’s not healing til he sits though
who would be the better start today? pekovic vs sac or faried vs orl? I’m down on points and rebounds. I’m a little worried about faried only getting 17 minutes last game . What do you guys think? thanks.
@Jeff, I’d go Pekovic
Tobias harris or Kirk Heinrich? Tobias is getting the starting spot and kirks banged up.. Thoughts?
@JLeeishere, Toby. Kirk is low on the depth chart and didn’t play many minutes last time out.
@ChrisV, Hinrich played 29 minutes last game but his stats looked like he didn’t play much, lol.
@James Redacted tobias harris, g green or jae crowder? Who would you drop?
@jleeishere, If you’re dropping for Hinrich, don’t unless you’re starving for assists. I agree with Chris that you stick with Harris. If you MUST drop someone… Crowder.
my fault i meant kirk, g green or jae crowder.
@jleeishere, Kirk if you don’t need assists. Crowder if you need assists.
@James Redacted, Ive got Monta, Stuckey, Isaiah and Damian Lillard and jarrett jack. Monta and stuckey aren’t great at assists, but I think I should be okay, especially if Damian keeps it up like this.
Out of these 4 options who starts tonight, pick 2:
Brendan Wright, DJ AUG, Jae Crowder, and Trevor Booker
wright and crowder same team, and they signed murphy? plus isn’t kaman supposed to be back? crowder wasn’t getting that many mins and im sure they’re about to be cut…..
AUG not a ton of mins, not impressive in the mins he’s been given
Booker vs BOS, good defense and the guy is just coming off a game where he only played 17 mins bc of foul trouble….
Deep league 18 teams if you’re wondering why im asking about these jokers.
@Tony, h2h fantasy pts league! forgot that….
@Tony, if Kaman doesn’t start tonight, Wright should.
Are any of these guys worth grabbing out of the FA pool:
Jason Thompson
Derrick Williams
Robin Lopez
Gerald Henderson
Bismack Biyombo
Chandler Parsons
Carl Landry
Randy Foye
J.J. Barea
Who should I drop?
12 team, 10 cat. roto
Here’s my current squad:
PG: Monta Ellis
SG: Afflalo
G: Jeff Teague
SF: Josh Smith
PF: Horford
F: DeMarcus Cousins
C: Bosh
C: Brand
Util: Danny Green
Util: Thad Young
BN: Evan Turner, Jose Calderon, Jae Crowder, Gerald Green, Alexsey Shved
I am currently last or second-to-last in FG%, FT%, PTS and AST. I am basically middle of the road in ever other category.
Thanks for the advice.
@Principle Blackman, I would drop Alexsey Shved for Gerald Henderson, but I also wouldn’t panic too much after a handful of games.
