Kevin Love should have listened to those before him, put the workout aside and found some place to rock out, but noooo, he had to try and keep his body in tip top shape. We know that those who try are the first to fail, and Mr. Love broke the third and fourth metacarpals on his shooting hand during a morning workout. I hope that’s not also his “this hotel room gets Cinemax” hand. According to team doctors, he will miss the next 6-8 weeks, which means he won’t be back until December, possibly as late as that big holiday in December, St. Stephen’s Day. If you already have Love in your heart and on your team, nothing to do but suck it up and remind yourself that’s one reason not to hold your draft on October 3. If you still have a draft to look forward to, Love will have value when he returns, but he’s not worth a top five pick. He should probably be grabbed by the 4th round, but where he is taken all depends on your league. Chances are, someone in autodraft will snag him well before then.

In more “Power Forwards Dropping Like Panties At A  Justin Bieber Concert” news, Dirk Nowitzki is considering surgery, which is never a good thing. Of course, having your knee swell is also never a good thing, unless you are from an alien planet and the knee is the reproductive organ, and also it’s important for your reproductive organ to swell. Mine is doing swell, thanks for asking. Nowitzki is going to take it easy over the next few days to see if the knee improves, but if not, he will have surgery, which will likely keep him out through December. Boy, it’s starting to look like we should just nap until January and then do our drafts then. Maybe Derrick Rose will be back by then.

There’s no way Love makes it past round2 in any league.

      @Richie, probably not.

who benefits from Dirk’s potential absence and definite drop in production (as in minutes played or overall effectiveness, even if he does not have surgery)?

@Zebo, Elton Brand, maybe Vince Carter sees more minutes.

Guys, I’ve been offered Bogut for my Wes. Matthews in a Dynasty league. I have plenty of pg/sg. Should I pull the trigger?

    • ChrisV

@Pavel, it’s not like Bogut is really young. He has 7 seasons under his belt, and we know his ceiling is 15/11. If that works for you, then sure, so long as you are aware he has an ankle problem and may not start the regular season.

@ChrisV, chris on this team, my other guards are Wade, Nash, Dragic, Isiah Thomas, George Hill, Vasquez, Jennings, Kobe, and Jameer Nelson…would you take it then?

@Pavel, yeah, seems you are stockpiled enough with guards.

In a keeper league draft is auction style….Have the option to keep only 2 out of following 3….Budget is $300, roto 10 teams

    Ibaka – $33
    P.George – $7
    K. Thompson – $5

Which 2 have the most value?

    Thanks.

    • Sagnof says:

@Sagnof, I also forgot to add that its an ESPN league and Ibaka is C eligible

    • ChrisV

      ChrisV says:

@Sagnof, how many teams? In a $300 league, I don’t think Ibaka is that expensive, but his value is only in blocks and FG%. Of course, he is miles above any other player for blocks.

Although I have George ranked higher, I’d rather have Klay in a keeper.

Thinking on it, you could keep George and Thompson and have a ton of money in your budget to aggressively target top 25 players. So, those are the two I would keep.

      • Sagnof says:
        (link)

@ChrisV, its a 10 team league…Espn is projecting that Ibaka will go for $50.
Considering if that were true I agree that keeping klay and george works out best bc of their low price.

Basically, by not keeping Ibaka, what is the most (or target range) I shud spend on Ibaka in an auction if u had to take a guess?

@Sagnof, hmm, ten team league…I wasn’t considering a shallow league. Auction drafts are more in James Redacted’s wheelhouse, I will ask him to comment.

@Sagnof, Auction $$ projections are garbage. It’s better to look at where you would rank Ibaka in your top 50 players. For me, Ibaka ranks in the 40-45 range. So now try and look at last year’s auction prices and see approximately what players in that range were going for (depending on your league’s approach to auctions it can vary drastically).

Here’s my example: In my 14 team league LAST year (inflated for a $300 budget), the 40th highest paid player went for $39. Keep in mind that this isn’t an exact science because every auction can go differently… but given this information I’d spend between $39-$45 on him. If you LOVE Ibaka and think he’s a 25-30 range player, I would figure on spending $58-$64 (based on players that went in the 25-30 range in my auction last year).

Given no knowledge of how your league spends and my slight dislike of Ibaka, in your 10 team league I would spend up to $35. Good luck and feel free to fire back any more questions!

    keeper league, keep 3

    keeping
    P Gasol
    A Stoudemire

need to pick 1 of the following
    DeMarcus Cousins
    Tyreke Evans
    Brandon Jennings
    Nikola Pekovic (with love out???)
    Wesley Matthews
    Devin Harris

Last 3 guys are just options to throw in, see if someone else thinks more higher of them than i do

@mcbluntsky, Swap out amare? Or do u have to keep him bc of some round restriction or something? Amare is garbage, keep Jennings pau and cousins…..

Chris! I traded my #5 overall + 12th picks for the #4 overall. Now that Love is out, I’m looking at ending up with the same player I would have taken at 5 (Deron Williams).

I think pg is deep enough to justify trading down to 12 (last pick) so that I can have the back-to-backs and snag a core of DeMarcus/LaMarcus. Please advise. Thanks for your time.

@Mr. Ballistik, if you think you can make it work, it sounds like a fine strategy. What do you do if one of the Marcii are taken before your picks?
