Don't be shellfish...Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterShare on Google+

It’s the last week of the regular season, which means roughly 40-50% of fantasy basketball will be over for the owners who didn’t make the playoffs.  But don’t worry!  You don’t have to wait until fantasy drafts next October to get back to your fantasy winning days.  Our friends at DraftKings run huge $ daily fantasy contests, and have got some of their biggest payouts yet.  Play today in their $150,000 Bank Shot and for an entry fee of only $200, you could win $50,000!  Payouts will go to the top 100 players, and the prize pool would make John Dillinger proud.  Or you can always hop in the $15,000 Big Wednesday for an entry fee of only $27 and win $3 G’s!  Now let me try and help you win some money with some good value picks for tonight:

Serge Ibaka ($5,600) – While he may put many men’s private collections in peril, Ibaka is coming off a big night against the Spurs (13 Pts 16 Rebs 3 Blks) and I think can replicate and probably improve upon those numbers against the Jazz tonight.  After losing in San Antonio, I like the Thunder to play hungry and win big at home.  With Paul Millsap likely to sit out and Al Jefferson still in the 30-minute range after missing a few, I like Ibaka to wreak havoc on the boards and in the paint.

Jason Thompson ($5,700) – Very quietly has played his way back into fantasy prominence scoring 18 in 3 of the last 5 and grabbing at least 8 boards in 3 of the last 5.  With what should be a gutty matchup underneath between DeMarcus Cousins and Joakim Noah, look for Thompson to be able to exploit some boards and a few shots against the slower Carlos Boozer.  I see a 16-11-2 game with little downside.

Dorell Wright ($4,800) – Even with the news that Nick Young thinks he will return tonight vs. the Heat, I like Wright to have plenty of minutes and three-point shots to be worth the money.  Wright’s minutes didn’t fluctuate much with/then without Young anyway, and the Sixers will need the offense to try and keep up with the Heat going for their 20th straight.  He’s scored double-digits in 6 of the last 7 and also has multi 3-pointers in 8 of the last 9.  Add in a handful of other stats and he’s a guy to target.

Corey Brewer ($4,600) – I’ve been loving Brewer as a deep league option, and tonight for a daily league cheap option, I think Brewer is a solid buy.  If the Knicks even play 130% better than Monday night they will lose by 20, which will give the Nuggets bench extra time on the floor.  He does it all (scores, boards, dishes and steals) and should have a great game against a team that looked in disarray.

Kosta Koufos ($4,500) – Another Nugget I like tonight is the big Kouf, who is coming off a solid 20-10 game his last time out.  The Knicks rebounding was atrocious against the Warriors, and while Koufos is obviously no David Lee, he isn’t that far off from Andrew Bogut right now, who also had double-digit rebounds against the Knicks last Monday.  Koufos went 10-11 from the floor his last game to get 22 points so I doubt he hits that plateau, but I could easily see a 15-10 game with a few other stats sprinkled in.

J.J. Barea ($4,600) – Hit 5 threes last night and has back-to-back 16-4-4 games going 17-5-5 with 5 3s yesterday.  He’s got the shot to score 20 and does enough other things to be a solid buy.

Good luck tonight and win Razzball Nation some money!

Apologies in advance for the below copy/paste, as I posted this in your previous thread and am not sure if it will get skipped-over due to the new post. As with before, any help is appreciated…

    “Good day!

Would you drop Avery Bradley or Dorrell Wright for Jonas Valanciunas, or just hold the line where I am, based on the below roster? (note that I’m in 2nd place in my ESPN H2H and playoffs start on Monday):

    PG – Russell Westbrook
    SG – Marcus Thornton
    SF – Thaddeus Young
    PF – DeMarcus Cousins
    C – Larry Sanders
    G – Goran Dragic
    F – J.J. Hickson
    PF/C – David West
    Util – Damian Lillard
    Util – Kyle Lowry

    Bench – Martell Webster
    Bench – Jermaine O’Neal
    Bench – Mo Williams
    Bench – Dorrell Wright
    Bench – Avery Bradley

    ————————————–

I think Dorrell Wright can hold his value when Nick Young comes back, but it’s a risk and we’re in the money time of the season. Avery Bradley has been solid, but not at all sexy. And Valanciunas looks like a shiny new add for the stretch-run, especially with Bargnani now out for good, but I can’t decide on what to do. Please help! :-)

    Thanks!”

@chillmodious: Glad to help! I would stand let go of Bradley. Valanciunas isn’t that great, but he did play 33 minutes and could be close to a double double a night guy. Hope that helps and ya bring home the hardware!

@JB Gilpin: Thank you! I will now proceed to your next post and apologize for the copy/paste!

Reposting: if Pekovic is back healthy this week, drop Thompson for Martell? Thinking Martell for 4 games is better than Danny Green for 3 going fwd. Thoughts?

@Zandy: Oops sorry man! Kinda depends on your needs for the drop. I agree 4 Martell > 3 Green. If you need Rebs/Blks I hold onto Thompson, 3s it’s obviously Web

      • Zandy says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Interesting. So would you drop Green to roll Webster out there next week?

          (link)

@Zandy: You know what, I actually think I would. Even with no Duncan or Kawhi, Green wasn’t a primary scorer and only played 24 mins. Hasn’t topped 27 mins in the last 8 games. Didn’t realize they had cut him back a bit. I like Webster.

I have been thinking about stashing Gasol and rotoworld says “he’s worth stashing in all leagues.” What’s your opinion on him?

    • JB Gilpin

@WorldsFirstAnalrapists: Well with the uncertainty around when Kobe will be back, the Lakers will need points. Gasol used to be a pretty great scorer, so I agree he’s worth a stash. However, the blanket “in all leagues” should be taken with a grain of salt. If you have a bye week then I definitely would, but if you’re a lower seed, I think it might be risky if you have to burn a bench spot. If you have an IR spot then definitely. I’ll add him into today’s post too.

good morning buddy.. Hey I think I told u someone took Splitter but somebody just dropped Jarret Jack cause he needs to win bad to oget into playoffs.. Is he worth trying to grab? If so then for who? Also Tyson Chandler got hurt.. Do you think He’ll be ready in a week and a half when I start the playoffs or do I have to drop him?

    • Zandy says:
      (link)

@Frank Lynch: Here’s the latest on Tyson – Chandler, Tyson NYK – Updated: Knicks forward Tyson Chandler was forced to leave Wednesday’s game in Denver with a knee injury, after colliding with Nuggets forward Corey Brewer. Chandler could not leave the court under his own power and had to be helped to the locker room, where he was diagnosed with a left knee contusion. After the game, Knicks coach Mike Woodson told reporters that Chandler’s injury is not considered serious, and he is probable for the team’s game Thursday in Portland.

      I wouldnt drop so fast

@Frank Lynch: Yup Zandy beat me to the punch, but Chandler is probably and you shouldn’t drop him. Jack is fading really really bad… Although he did have a decent game last night and I’ll have him in my recap today. Who are your bottom 3 guys again?

  5. Frank Lynch says:

Or Danny Green is on waivers too?? This guy just this morning picked up Chandler Parsons. His stats are mad good. I have no idea how I missed that. And you told me to keep an eye on the wire too.. My bad!!

@Frank Lynch: Haha yup, def shoulda gotten Parsons. Love him. I like Jack more than Green. Even with all their other stars benched, Green didn’t do much a few games back.

What about Jarret Jack and theother players I mentioned?

  7. Starks says:

    Good morning JB,
So I have been riding Vince Carter’s stats for a few days but I am positive those won’t last into next week. AK-47, Gasol, and Jarret Jack are all available for next week. Who would you continue to roll with?
    Thanks.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Starks: Morning man! You know, I think I might actually keep rolling Carter out there. Jack is fading, I want to see Kirilenko on the court before I recommend him, and while I like Gasol for the stash, he might only play 1-2 games next week. If you have an open IR spot, I like grabbing Gasol.

    Good morning JB!

Slight variation on a question from yesterday…

Who would you rather have for the next 4 weeks (if you could only own one)?:

    Stuckey or Avery Bradley

    Thank you!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

@chillmodious: Morning man! Meh, probably Bradley because Knight will be back soon and take those Stuckey minutes. But don’t feel great about it. If you can shoulder a tad of risk and go for upside, then I’d say Stuckey.

  9. Frank Lynch says:

The only people I got to drop Is Ariza and maybe Kevin Martin cause he’s kinda garbage but he give’s me 3’s.. And Ariza has been pretty good but is Jarret Jack better then one of them?”

    Ty Lawson
    Jameer nelson
    evan turner
    george hill
    jj reddick
    kevin durant
    blake griffen
    danillo gallinari
    emeka okafor
    kevin martin
    tyson chandler
    roy hibbert
    trevor ariza
Derrick Rose ( which I hope after my buy week will be ready)

@Frank Lynch: Eh, it’s really close… I think I might drop Ariza for him looking at it now. Jack will give you the 3s and should be a marginal fraction better.
