Don't be shellfish...Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterShare on Google+

If you’ve made it this far, you are about to head into the championship match week, or perhaps your semi finals. Wait, whut? There are a smattering of leagues only starting their playoffs now?? Madness. In March. Hmmm… that’s catchy, should try to remember that one.

I digress. You gotta get your game-face on, your heart rate up! Go to your bathroom, turn up your volume,  and listen to some inspiring music while mean-mugging in the mirror, it’s go time! As for me, I acknowledge that if you are indeed in the big dance, you probably don’t need me too much. To paraphrase Vince Vaughn in Swingers: “My baby’s all growed up!!” That said, should you may have to replace an injured cat or two, may I suggest the following:

BUY:

Henry Sims C

I always have maintained that it is easier to mine stream-worthy talent on the bottom tier teams, because there is a much better chance for to a player to get a shot at earning minutes than the top tier teams, who already have established roles. Sims was buried behind Anderson Varejao, but now, with the Sixers, there’s basically no competition for minutes, and he has flourished. In his last 4 games he has averaged 15.5/10.2/3.25/.75/.75. Additionally, he’s only 20% owned. And the coup-de-gras, JB has endorsed him with his patented “two clownishly long thumbs up”, so what are you waiting for?

Jordan Hill PF, C

Laker-land. Another disaster; which means a fertile ground for harvesting a streamer. And Hill has been big -man productive since he’s returned from injury. In his 4 games since his return, he has averaged 18.5/12/0/.25/1.25. His FT% and FG% are also very attractive. His 36% ownership also makes him more than likely available. I will temper this by acknowledging that D’Antoni is prone to unpredictability, Chris Kaman may well become the flavour du jour next week in L.A., you have been advised.

Elton Brand PF, C

I may be reaching here, but as a streamer, Elton has potential. Pero Antic is out with an ankle injury, and the one game Elton has played was a near rainbow, going 11/12/2/1/1, with 50% FG%, and 100% FT% in 30 minutes, against a tough Blazers defence. If you’re scrambling, he’s only 11% owned, so he should be there for you.

Jeff Adrien SF, PF

Jeff is getting burn because Ersan Ilyasova is now out for the season. In his last 3 games, he’s gotten the minutes to rack up 11.6/6.6/1.6/.33/.66, getting production in all 5 categories. Not exactly sexy, but helpful, like a boy scout. Just the the helpful part. Never mind.

Ramon Sessions PG, SG

It can’t all be big men on this list, right? Fortunately, the streamers all had a meeting, and they nominated Ramon Sessions to be the guard’s representative, in part due to the fact that his name is possibly the best inadvertent Porn Star name of all time. But his production has been very good as well: In his past 5 games he’s averaged 20.8/4.6/5/.4/0, with a 3pt per. He’s only 35% owned, so you if you land him, you can compare creepy mustaches.

SELL:

Not going there, once again. You’ve made the playoffs, don’t look to me to tell you whom to drop, pull up your big boy pants!

That’s all there is, ladies and gents. May all your shots find be nothing but twine, and good luck!

Hi I’m in the championship of a 20 team points league

And idk if I should pick up Avery Bradley or Chase Budinger for the championship week

@Shaun: When picking guys so far down the list it’s always a crap shoot, but I would say Bradley has more potential for upside.

    Nice write up man!

So after tomorrow’s game, I’m gonna cut Amir and grab me someone else with 4 games left on the docket for the week. For strong dub dub potential, who should I go with between these: J Hill, Sammy D, T Jones or Asik (I believe Howard may be out all week)? Love Sims but he only plays 3 times from 1 April.. may grab him the following week perhaps, if I dont revert back to Amir

I love Kaman in the LA offense but this whole saga with Mikey D has me worried about his nightly usage. If he got 30min nightly, I’d be on him like white on jasmine rice

Someone has dropped Pau too (its a shallow league and he must’ve been running low on patience with Pau’s injuries) – should I pick him up over all these guys, if I can land him with my waiver?

@Lasandro: Pau was dropped because he IS too risky. You’re taking a huge gamble, I don’t think he will be playing tuesday, and possibly beyond that. But it could change. Even if he does, he could well be held out of the game so much that he has limited production. It’s the championship game, not the time to speculate.

@Lasandro: Terrance Jones, son! he can rebound, although isn’t a lock for 10+. Jones will give you a lot more than just boards and a few points, though, and will produce whether Dwight comes back or not. Asik is nice as well, but you will only get big man stats, good boards, but 9-14 points, and the odd block.

@Lasandro: If you want, also look at Jermaine O’Neal, Bogut is out again, he played very well last time Andrew went down…

Made it to the championship league in our office thanks to lots of Razzball tips! Thank God Stephen Curry made good use of his 2-game week. So is Jordan Hill done? Stupid D’Antoni is already giving his minutes to R-Kelly. T_T

@Daniel Bryan: I just don’t know. Kaman is biting into his playing time as well. D’Antoni can see the writing on the wall, and is going squirrelly. But, the lakers have 4 games next week, so there’s that…
Sorry dude, I have him too, I’m sticking with him, because in my 12 team league, there’s nobody better. If T. Jones is somehow available, try for him. Good luck!

  4. Larry says:

Hi guys! I’m in the playoffs of my league, and I was thinking that I might be able to win without streaming players against a team that streams. Thoughts? My players are all around top 60 value for the past month. I have CP3, Rubio, Pierce, T. Jones, Millsap, Amir, Barnes, and J. Hill. Someone dropped Duncan, and despite the random DNPs, I don’t think I can find the blocks he consistently gives by streaming so I’m thinking of dropping Hill for him. Is it possible for my team to win AST, STL, BLK, for the finals of my playoffs next week (week 24+25), even though cp3 only has 4 games total? I’m thinking that by not streaming, I also win TO, and maybe one of the percentages, or maybe I can stream 1 slot in my roster on the last week (Duncan?)? CP3, Rubio, and Millsap are on the can’t cut list. 9-cat h2h 20 teams, 8players
    Thanks guys!

@Larry: Even though I just recommended him, Hill would be the drop. I would rather have Duncan over Hill, but you’re right to worry about his potential to sit, as San An has the playoffs locked up. You can’t drop CP#, as you already know, but Barnes might be a concern for the same reason: fewer games. But don’t make any decisions now, wait to see how it goes, and decide midweek if Matt’s slot can be better served by a wing who plays more games. good luck!

Thoughts on picking up Kyrie asap, heard he has been cleared for practice and “might” return Wednesday would be dropping Carrol, Sullinge or Greives for him…thanks

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@AJ: At first glance, you have to nab him based on his mad upside, but temper your expectations. Wednesday is best case scenario, and since the cavs have little to play for, they will not risk mad minutes on their star, IMO. But dropping Vasquez for the long shot that he comes back Wednesday, and then murders it upon his return? That’s not a heavy price tag. You need to be honest with yourself, you’re gambling, and the house has heavy odds, so the real question is: what’s your risk tolerance? But if you hit that longshot… Cash. Good luck!
