@JB Gilpin: Hey have you heard, Derrick Rose is gonna start shooting 3s when the Knicks make the playoffs, i’ll say it again, when they MAKE THE PLAYOFFS. SMH.

Anyway, I’m fed up with Reggie Jackson, just dropped him for Big Sauce.

G: Harden, Wall, Conley, Hill, Tyler Johnson
F: Griffin, James Johnson, Covington, Big Sauce
        C: Drummond, Nurkic, Capela, Zubac

What you think? I have great guards, so I think it’s a good move. See any weaknesses in my team? Obviously FT and TO.

@Shahed: Hahahaha, we’ll see my man 🙂 YEah this Rjax downtown is insanity…I like the add boosting the bigs, man AST look great, mayyyybe 3s could use a streamer here and there? But looks mad strong.

            @JB Gilpin:
On another team, would you say it’s time to drop Valanciunas for whatever is out there?

              (link)

@Shahed: Yeah it’s looking that way in 10ers for sure. 12ers maybe 50/50, depends on the add, but the minutes are rough

  2. Michael says:

I don’t know what is going on everyone is dropping Willie Caulie Stein and Buddy Hield, it is making me wonder if I should drop Hield or WCS too for Tyler Ulis. The guy is playing well and he is low on TOs plus I think Suns will shut down Bledsoe soon. The thing is I think my Wing players are deep enough without Hield. Let me know what you guys think
I am in 9 cat roto 12 teams

    PG: Chris Paul, Damian Lillard
SG-SF: Giannis Antetekumpo, Tobias Harris, Robert Covington, Kyle Kover, Gary Harris, Buddy Hield, Marcus Morris,
PF-C: Nerlens Noel, Gorgui Dieng, Willie Caullie Stein, Alan Williams, Zach Randolph, Cody Zeller

I am especially surprise Zach Randolph is really anchoring my PF-C spot.

      @Michael:
Also, Alan Williams is looking good!!!

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@Michael: Yeah man, Big Sauce looked great last night! I would hold WCS, but yeah Hield can go. Kinda empty scoring, was never a big Hielf guy… Yeah your bigs kinda loko rough but you’re making it work with the band aids right now! Plus Giannis’s stats of course 🙂

    • JB Gilpin

@Connor: Nice! Yeah I would prob swap Marvin out, would go Sauce if REB was the need, Holmes for more stocks combo

Are you and Slim open to meeting up with commenters in FL? Anyways, was looking for some advice in my main league.

12 team 10 cat league with FT made.

G- James Harden, Kemba, Batum, Klay Thompson, Middleton, Yogi
F/C- Jokic, Deandre Jordan, Draymond, TJ Warren, Myles Turner, Nurkic, Marvin Williams

I was thinking I’m probably good on assists and was looking to make the swap from Yogi to Big Sauce.

  9. Not Your Average Joe says:
    (link)

Well, so assuming my league isn’t full of lame haters who veto deadline trades because they’re bitter they didn’t think of them first, below is what my team will look like post trades. (Seriously, though, what is it with people thinking that if you’re a bottom place team you can get full value for your non-keeper stars on deadline day? Like, it’s either trade them for what you can get, or choke on them when you can’t keep them.) Not bad for having lost Lowry.

Team (in theory): Kemba, Conley, McConnell, Beal, Waiters, A.Gordon, Markieff, Millsap, Zingis, Gobert, Jokic

I won’t have a 3rd round pick next year, which would likely be in the high 20s, but I will hopefully have two 6th round picks in the low 60s. My keepers for next year would likely be, under our league’s rules, Zingis (7th round), Markieff (8th round), and McConnell (11th round). Though I do have the alternative of keeping Beal with my 5th round, which isn’t terrible if he stays healthy. I don’t think I’d keep Waiters, even at an 11th round price, unless something else goes wrong. Which brings me to…

Should I drop Waiters (or A.Gordon) for Wilson Chandler or Malcolm Brogdon? Brogdon’s getting more run and could stick as a break out if he stays in the starting lineup, but he plays for Jason Kidd (ungh) and he’d make me a tad thinner at SF. Or I can go for Wilson Chandler, though his boost has come from Faried being out, and Chandler can put up some really blah games. Waiters was good earlier this month but now he’s back to being the Waiters the inefficient and averaging a 150 rank in the past two weeks. Harkless is available too, for what it’s worth.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Not Your Average Joe: Dude that’s the worst, I won’t play in keeper leagues with blind vetoes, it’s so abused. Ummmm, I think I might indeed take that flier on Brogdon, I like him as maybe that 11th round keeper for next year if it looks like he might trend to that starting spot

  10. giantsFTW says:

Gordon Hayward against the Mess for 30.

JB can u plz rate these PGs ROS? Payton, Lin, Brogdon, Jackson, CoJo
    Thx

@giantsFTW: Man lots of Hayward tonight!

Sure I’d go Payton (still ugh), Brogdon, Rjax, Cojo, Lin

I’ve got David Lee & Parsons languishing at the bottom of my bench in a 20-team H2H league (and just picked up Alan Williams)

    lineup:
    PG- Bledsoe
    SG – Dragic
    G – McConnell
    SF – Marcus Morris
    PF – Beasley
    F – Unibrow
    C – Kanter
    UTIL – D’Angelo Russell
    UTIL – P-Bev

which of the following makes me stronger for playoffs (and should I drop Lee and Parsons for any)?
    Derrick Williams
    Sefolosha
    Jaylen Brown
John Henson – would love some more blocks

    Thanks JBeasley!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@SheriffMcRawDawg: Nice getting Big Sauce! Ugh yeah not a big fan of any of those guys… Maybe Derrick Williams for Lee I might do, but on the fence on that one too. Both have the upside of a little more run/USG when they playoff bench

      • SheriffMcRawDawg says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: and ditch Parsons for Muppet Man just in case? So you see the former getting anywhere close to 20 a game down the stretch?

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@SheriffMcRawDawg: 20 points or 20 minutes? Hahahaha, sad that that is a question for Parsons… Henson was DNP yet again yesterday though so I would just hold Parsons there I guess…

  13. Johnc says:

With my team losing Lowry, and the #2 team losing KD, the field of favorites is shifting. It looks likely that my first round opponent (after the bye week) will be the one hottest over the last several weeks. And he matches up pretty well with me since he punts assists and FTs and kills threes, blocks and TOs. Some weeks his FG % is up if his three pointers drop too. FG % and Rebs are close. I have to win steals and points to feel confident despite my regular season record. Sadly KAT only has three games each week so his schedule is for sure better with DeAndre playing 5 games.
    His team: Joseph, PBev, Kemba
Beal, Crowder, R Anderson, T Booker, Hood, Ersan, Aminu, Harkless
    Myles, Howard, DeAndre

My team: CP3, Smart, Yogi, RJax (ugly)
Porter, Leonard, James Johnson, G Harris, Holmes
KAT, Horford, Poison Goose, Adams, Jokic
Jameer hit the wire which is a surprise and could help me backfill Lowry assists. But given this team above, not sure it would help but hard to pass up for sure. Other options are T Jones, Mirotic, Dinwiddie, Zaza

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Johnc: Damnnnnn huge ripple effects there… Ugh yeah the Clippers with that 5 game week had me keep DJ pretty high in my ranks… But your assists and guards are way better. Mirotic intrigues me, agree tough to leave out Jameer on the wire… You have to drop someone right?

      • Johnc says:
        (link)

        @JB Gilpin:

Yep. Someone would have to go. Holmes I would like to keep for blocks and a Monday night game to open that playoff week. So it could be RJax I guess if he is being Put on a time share with Ish. What I should do is punt my final week and lose 1-8 and get the #2 seed. Much easier path to victory. That would not go over well in our “friends” league but….

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Johnc: If there’s no rules against it, I think that’s what you should do if you see an easier path! Yeah Rjax I guess might be a cut candidate, him or Yogi maybe, crazy Rjax has fallen that far down

          • John says:
            (link)

            @JB Gilpin:

@John: Meh well last night didn’t help a ton… Both were pretty good! Ish still was great off the bench…

  14. Larry says:
    (link)

    Hey JB,
Dropped RoLo for Big Sauce, my team looking very playoffs ready right now, especially with RoCo looking like a top 50 player these past weeks
My team (16team 9-cat H2H punting TO ): Harden, Bledsoe, Yogi, McConnell, G. Harris, Fournier, RoCo, Noel, Big Sauce, Gobert
Only concern is probably Bledsoe missing games or losing minutes during fantasy playoffs. Been thinking of dropping TJ but haven’t gotten to it because he’s basically a consistent top 80/100 player. Kind of like a lesser version of Rubio.
Should I just stick with my team right now and maybe drop one as a streamer spot during the playoffs (limited to 4 moves a week only) or pick up one of the available players: Portis, JRich, Ingram, Ulis, Terrence Jones, Bjelica, Jameer, Ersan. Thanks!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Larry: Nice, yeah totally with ya on adding ds Sauce. Looks nice for a 16er! Agree on McConnell, there’s value there even though he’s mainly just an AST guy, but he fits your roster. I might take Jameer over him though, I think he offers a smidge more and your AST are pretty good.

  15. Tyler says:
    (link)

Should i drop JLin? For Ish, Yogi, Ulis, Alan Williams or Aminu?

    G-Jrue,Lin,Bev,GHarris
    F-LBJ,Covington,Ariza,Middleton,Harkless
    C-Whiteside,DeAndre,Gobert,Holmes

Focusing on dominating Fg,reb, stl, blk while being competitive in 3s,ast,TO

    • Tyler says:
      (link)

@Tyler: Hardaway and Nelson just got dropped as well. Is there someone I should drop or stand pat?

      • Bye Felica says:
        (link)

@Tyler: I would take Hardway or Jameer over Harkless and pick up Sauce for Lin. That’s me tho

        • Tyler says:
          (link)

@Bye Felica: Hardaway even though Im punting PTs and FT?

          • JB Gilpin

            JB Gilpin says:
            (link)

@Bye Felica: @Tyler: Agreed, you’re def adding Sauce. I think losing Lin makes the most sense. Hmmm, yeah that other possible move for your needs is a tough call. Nelson is the guy I’m on the fence on, but Harkless fits your needs really well, I might only do the Williams add

            • Tyler says:
              (link)

@JB Gilpin: If I lose Lin, wouldnt that put me in a bad position for assists? Only have LBJ and Jrue with Bev for assists.

              • JB Gilpin

                JB Gilpin says:
                (link)

@Tyler: Meh, 2 dimes past two games and not playing enough mins…

  16. Keeper question says:
    (link)

Keeper league, draft budget of $200. Better to keep Ibaka for 23 or Griffin for 44? Thanks.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Keeper question: 44 is a lot for Griffin who has had injury issues, I think I would take Ibaka at roughly half the cost

      • Keeper question says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: cool, thanks for the quick reply.

          • Keeper question says:
            (link)

@JB Gilpin: how about Marc Gasol at 27 or Ibaka at 23? Thanks.

            • JB Gilpin

              JB Gilpin says:
              (link)

@Keeper question: Whewwwwww. Close. Gasol has more upside game to game but is a little older and a few more bucks… I’ll lean Ibaka

  17. Tyler says:
    (link)

I only have 2 possible opponents for 1st rd of Playoffs with our current standings:

    Opponent 1:
    G-Harden,Tyreke,Matthews,Ross,TyJo
    F-Draymond,MarvinWilliams,,Fournier,Gallo,Barton
    C-Ibaka,RoLo,Plumlee

Opponent 2: (Highly likely this will be my matchup)
    G-GHill,McCollum,LouWill,AveryBradley,RJax
    F-Crowder,Otto,Kawhi,KCP
    C-MylesTurner,Millsap,WCS,Dieng

Feel like I can compete in ASTs with those two teams esp if Lin gets to 25min and 5ast per game with BKN 4game slate and him playing b2b?

    My Team:
    G-Jrue,Lin,Bev,GHarris,Middleton
    F-LBJ,Ariza,Covington,Harkless
    C-Whiteside,Deandre,Gobert,Holmes

Seems also that STLs will be our tiebreaker hence why I’m thinking of getting Aminu for Holmes? Since Aminu has 4games in the 1st rd of Playoffs while Holmes only has 3.

    Other options on the wire are Big Sauce(3games), Lawson(4games), THJ(3games), Ferrell(4games), Chriss(3games), Smart(3), Ulis(3), Nelson(3), Frye(4)

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Tyler: I dunno if Lin will get to that AST total, but I see why you want him around. That said, looks like you should be able to beat oppo 2. Yeah totally good getting Aminu. Plus you’re gonna win big man stats most likely

  18. TT says:
    (link)

Drop Gorgui Dieng to pick up Richaun Holmes? Getting restless here as the playoff starts this week! 🙂

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@TT: Hah yeah I know Dieng has been poo… How many games does MIN have this week, I see from above Holmes as 3…

      • TT says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: I see both MIN and PHI have four games this week. To me it’s come down to rebound needs. Points is punt. Holmes block is probably better than Dieng these days. Also Okafor is out.

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@TT: Damn well sorry for catching this one late, but now it’s up in the air for MIN! Yeah even though Holmes started a bit rocky with the start yesterday, I think with Okafor out he is the guy

  19. Dante Green says:
    (link)

Bud, I bring you good tidings. I apparently defeated the #2 team. It was an important match and I’m so glad to have snatched a 6-3 win. So for a team that was from the outside looking in, I’m now holding onto fifth spot.

The final two playoff spots aren’t set to stone yet and there are a few possible scenarios still with four teams in the hunt for one of it, but for the final week I seriously just need to win at least 4 categories. The 1.5 and 2 game cushion that I have on teams #6 and #7 is huge, plus the fact that I’ll be going up against a non-playoff team will help too in my hopes of keeping the 5th spot. And let me add to that the situation of teams #6 and #7–they are actually going to be facing each other which means that there’s no way both these teams should win 7 or 6 cats at the same time. Hahah. I will only complicate things if I give up 6 categories against my opponent but I really don’t see that happening bcoz like I said I’m the better team heading into the final week. Let me just show you my squad, I think it’s all set but I want to make a move for a player who’s got more games than the Knicks in the 1st round.

    G – McCollum, Russell, Joseph
F – Hayward, Crowder, Harris, Chriss
    C – Towns, Jokic, Hernangomez, C-Stein

So Willy H unfortunately only has 2 games, I’m thinking of making a swap for either Tjones or Allan W. I’m not sure about my chances of snagging Allan W though with my budget down to $16. Sad, I know. Other guys on the wire are:
    RHJ
    Portis
    Ish
    Zubac
Payton (awful playoff sched but ORL still has a better 1st week than NY)

I think I should really be targeting Allan W, or Payton though I may have to spend more than half of my remaining budget to land either, and to be honest I’m not too comfortable in doing that with the playoffs being a 3-week affair. Your thoughts bud? I might go Portis or Jones though, I might snag them for $3.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Dante Green: Hell yea man, love to hear it! Ugh yeah forgot about the NYK sched. Yeah Big Sauce Alan W would be my main target too, with so little time left you could go 10 plus… Elfrid, yeah I’m with ya, bad sched. Portis yeah would be a decent backup bid

  20. Dante Green says:
    (link)

Good thing Willy H provided 14/8 before we let him go. Hah

3 of my best players are not playing tonight–Towns, McCollum and Joke. Booo, what a bummer

Yea, I’m actually thinking about going $11 max and see what happens. Thanks budd

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

@Dante Green: Nice send off game, love those! Yikes yeah that reschedule game is gonna make a lot of ripples through the playoff push here…

        @JB Gilpin:

So is there a possibility that Minny’s playoff schedule improves?

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Dante Green: Most definitely! They are going to get one extra game in there, and easily could be in the next 3 weeks before those final 10 days
