Dude, I had the title “Breaking News – Nets File Paperwork To Relocate To London” all ready to go for a Nets open, then saw everyone was saying that… #Groupthink! So let’s all sit back and marvel at what Lance Stephenson did last night. The 28/4/4/1/0 line was not his best line on the year, the %s (10-17 FG 3-7 3PTM 5-5 FT) were awesome, sure, but I think he did something ridiculous that was off the stat line. He looked like the best player on the floor. Just look at some of these sick dimes! But you do have to question why he fell over on that second one… Haha… Maybe made them look better than they actually were by flopping around like a fish out of water… Anywho, Stephenson had some concerns with two bad games right when Danny Granger was back, but has quickly quelled those question marks and back on track. With Stephenson cemented, I think it’s time to lose George Hill in virtually all formats if you haven’t already. Breaking news – I know – and we’ve talked about it a few times in the comments, but his shocking 81% -ownership in Yahoo combined with last night’s 3/3/5 game (marks his highest assist total since December 20th) – it’s just not happening. In fact, if you told me heading into the year Stephenson (5.2) would be averaging two more assists a game than Hill (3.3), I might’ve spontaneously combusted. But hey, it’s working for the Pacers and if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Unless of course you’re in first place in a 10 or 12-team league and still own Hill… You can fix that! Here’s what else I saw last night in fantasy hoops:
Rajon Rondo – He back! Will start but only set to play a maximum of 18-20 minutes so says SNL’s Taran Killam. Oops, I mean Brad Stevens… If you have him on IR and can drop someone useless, go for it, but you can afford to wait past this start if you have a full line-up and would be dropping anyone good.
Andray Blatche – Best game by far in Slim and I’s Tristan Thompson bet. 10-18 20/14/6/1/1 in just over 27 minutes. Really hasn’t been that impressive lately in either production or minutes, so Slim is partying like a rock star tonight! All this fame and fortune Slim’s way, I think after he hits it big time he might egg my house… Let’s hope not! Worth a speculative add in 12-teamers, but barely.
Shaun Livingston – Fantasy tease. I never bought in too much after dabbling in early in the season the first time Deron Williams got hurt, well only one league so more like dipped a toe in, but now I have avoided.
Joe Johnson – 5 straight really good games. 29/4/5 and 6 treys in London. How do you saw three in British? Phree?
Mike Scott – My boy! If you’ve stuck with me all year, you know I have mentioned him numerous times. No DeMarre Carroll last night (birth of his daughter – congrats to the Carrolls!) getting Scott 29 minutes. 6-9 FG (1-3 3PTM 4-4 FT) 17/4/4. Scott needs Carroll out of the line-up to maintain value, so not much helping ROS value in shallower leagues, but in deeper leagues he’s either owned or should be for upside.
Shelvin Mack – The Hawks shoulda played their 2nd unit all game! 6-9 FG as well (3-3 3PTM 2-2 FT) 17/2/7/2/0. Playing well spelling Jeff Teague and an immediate guy to rush and get if Teague suffers any injuries.
Tyson Chandler – Improved mightily from his first game back from illness for 13/9/3/0/1. Still not a Chandler guy, but Monica is hot! I mean, Tyson Chandler, yeah, “Whooooopa!”
Reggie Jackson – 23/2/4/6/0. 1-7 from deep. That’s so Westbrook! His only three was a banker too. I don’t think he called bank…
Serge Ibaka – Beast! I love Ibaka. 21/15/0/0/5. Apparently did the Mutombo wag. Eh, even as a huge Ibaka fan I dunno how I feel about that one. It’s better than the Larry Sanders salute! I mean, come one Sanders, you missed half the year because you got mad someone splashed cheap champagne on you, and now you’re not getting back on D!? Back to Ibaka, 2 Pts and 1 Reb away from 5 straight double-double/multi-block games and now has a trey in three straight. “Jb and Serge, sitting in a tree!”
Steven Adams – Fouled out in 10:18. He better not be turning into Andris Biedrins and become the “One Minute Man!” Sometimes the ladies called me the one minute man… It was not any sort of compliment…
Terrence Jones – 16/13/3/2/1. Near rainbow. Razzball like T Jones.
Donatas Motiejunas – Can you say “trade showcase” anyone?! Jeepers creepers, it’s annoying for deep league Omri Casspi owners! “Sorry Omri, we have to play this ridiculous scrub a couple games because he wants out!” D-Mo did play pretty well though going 6-9 [who the hell didn’t shoot 6-9 last night, jeez!] with 3 treys going 15/7.
Amar’e Stoudemire – Was playing decent for a while for say, 14-teamers, but went down with a bad looking ankle sprain last night. No fun to watch. He and Kenyon Martin are both set to miss some time with their kankles.
I hope everyone is establishing a good lead in their matchups this week, and have a great weekend Razzball Nation!
