Razzball Nation! Welcome back for another week of uncovering an underperforming player who could do wonders for your fantasy team.
As I mentioned last week, I am completely aware that many trade deadlines have passed but for those that have not, this one is for you. After this week, I imagine nearly all if not all deadlines will be passed so we will be making a slight pivot to the format moving forward. Be on the lookout for a year in review article where I will grade the recommendations I made to you this season.
As for today, though, we find ourselves (well some of ourselves) in a position to take advantage of this circumstance. With some of you on the cusp of the fantasy playoffs, this is the time to be aggressive.
Over the last two-week’s Butler has been the 117th ranked player, a light year away from his season value of 18th on the season. During that span, Jimmy has averaged:
18.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.8 steals, 0.7 blocks with shooting splits of 41.7% and 73.2% from the field and free throw line respectively.
At first glance, the obvious dive in his value can be attributed to the percentages being well below his season average of 47.1% and 87.1% from the field and line respectively. Now if you feel like Jimmy Butler has suddenly pulled a Westbrick and forgotten how to shoot, then you can close the laptop now. However, if you are like me and see this as an outlier than keep on reading.
It is not lost on me that any day ending in Y could be a day that Jimmy is on the injury list but with so little time remaining in the season this is the time to take chances if you have the opportunity.
Offer up a top 30 player to give Butler’s GM some immediate production to help them swallow the pill of giving you the better player in the end. Fire out some offers as I am certain you are days away from your deadline.
As always, hit me up in the comments section below and leave your thoughts and comments.
Good luck out there,
Peace.
