Happy Holidays to all of my loyal Razzball followers! In between the time spent gathering with friends and family or taking some well-deserved time for yourself, the policy remains the same; Make time to improve your fantasy basketball team at all costs.

Our beloved NBA is under siege now from the so-far undefeated Covid-19 Omicron variant with more players being added to protocols on a daily basis. Commissioner Adam Silver has assured us that the NBA has zero plans of locking down or putting any sort of pause on the season like their NHL brethren. Instead, Silver has stated that the NBA will find ways to live with the pandemic while keeping the season moving forward as intended. Teams will be signing players from 20 leagues beneath the sea if they have to in order to fill out a roster on a nightly basis and cobble together a team to usher onto the court. All of this means we can expect the season to continue and therefore we will be steadfast in our pursuit to find value that improves our fantasy situations.

We head back to familiar territory, to the town where parquet floors were made popular, and the franchise is one of the most winningest (is that a word) in the league. Grab a hot bowl of clam chowder and read on as we head to Boston where you can still smell the incense from Kyrie’s pre-game ritual.

Robert Williams

The Time Lord, as he is, affectionately known by has fallen short of his pre-season hype, and make no mistake, I do not believe he will reach the lofty expectations some believed he would before the opening tip. I do, however, believe he will be better than he has been and that is where the value lives and breathes. Over the past week, Williams has been the 229th ranked player behind averages of:

11 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, zero steals, 1 block, 64.3% from the field and 44.4% from the line.

On the season, Time Lord is ranked 87th on the season putting up averages of:

9.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.7 steals, 1.7 blocks and 73.4% from the field, 61.9% from the line.

When we look at the numbers, it is plain to see where the value can be had and how it benefits you to make a trade for him. Steals, blocks, free-throws, and field goal percentage all have the potential to increase from where they currently sit and that is the reason you make a play for him. His current owners are likely not relying on him as their savior at the center position, which bodes well for his availability in a trade.

Frustration has certainly set in and he can be had in a trade for a top 100-120 player in return. Blocks are a scarce category to find on the wire and therefore if you have the opportunity to buy low in a trade, it can be the type of sly move to give you a boost in the rankings. Securing legitimate big men is a difficult task in fantasy this season, so when there is an opportunity to get one at a discount you pounce. Make the move before he posts a four-block night and the window closes shut on a buy-low opportunity.

The time is now for the Time Lord and he can be had at pennies on the dollar for a manager with the gumption to float the right offer out there.

As always, hit me up in the comments section below for your rebuttal whether you agree, disagree or just want to vent.

Good luck out there and Happy Holidays

Peace.
