Razzball Nation, what’s good?

Another week in our beloved fantasy basketball landscape has revealed another player with a high ceiling who is currently hanging out in the basement, patting his beer gut, and brushing chip crumbs off his jersey.

His (or her) current GM has without question become tired of the low-end lines being pumped out nightly especially considering the high pick that was used to snag this stat-stuffing center.

This big man has the ability to be a top 25 player and a key cog to your championship run, ladies and gentleman I give to you…

Jusuf Nurkic

It has not been a complete dumpster fire for Nurkic owners, as he has been more than serviceable averaging 9 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, .8 steals, .8 blocks, with percentages of 47% from the field and 43% from the line.

Ok, my bad, I completely downplayed the severity of his sub-par play thus far.

It has been a virtual dumpster 6 alarm fire and his owners who burned (see what I did there) a second-round pick on him all know it.

Now Portland has added some new pieces over the 5-minute off-season on the wings in Derrick Jones Jr. and Sir Robert Covington. However, neither player has been setting the world ablaze (see what I did again) with not one double-digit scoring effort to either player’s credit to date.

Dame and CJ are the usage guzzlers on this team and the production has been there for both players to warrant it. Then again, this is nothing new as Jusuf is often the third option on offense at best and does much of his damage outside of just scoring.

Nurk earned his second-round draft position due to the damage he does across the board with last year averages of 17.6 points, 10.3 rebounds, 4assists, 1.4 steals, and 2.0 blocks while shooting 49.5% from the field and 89% from the stripe.

That looks so beautiful it should be framed, in a word,  Pristine.

Here comes the good news. There is nothing in his way except a few whistles.

Nurk has fallen victim to some foul trouble keeping him off the floor and, as a result, his minutes have not been where they should be. Tether that to the fact that the Blazers have been run out of the gym on more than one occasion and you can start to see the path to where Nurkic can return to form.

If you currently do not hold stock in the Bosnian Beast, I suggest you immediately locate the GM in your league that does and begin your courtship by floating out some buy-low offers.

The time is now, like right now!

It will only be a matter of time before we hear there is an all-points bulletin on the soon to come NURK ALERT!
