Razzball Nation.

Here we go.

Here we go.

Here we go, here we go, here we here we here we go.

Shout to the legendary RUN-DMC who time after time remained consistent and gave you that boom-bap mixed with sampled guitar riffs, leather jackets, Kangol hats and those three-stripe sneakers sans laces.

The point is, you knew exactly what to expect when they were on the mic unlike the players that show up in this column week after week following underwhelming performances on the hardcourt.

If you’re interested in a big man who cranked out a top 20 performance last season and can possibly be had at a discount let’s pull back the curtain for the reveal.

Deandre Ayton

Nassau, we have a problem.

The Bahamian big man has been underwhelming throughout this young, protocol-riddled season bringing in averages of 12 points, 11 boards, and 1 block while shooting 64% from the charity stripe.

Now the boards and FG (57%) are where they should be, however, there has been a steep decline in the points department, down from 18 a season ago.

The blocks are also light, down half a block a game to go along with subpar Ft. percentage down over 10 points from 75.3% last year.

Currently ranked 92nd overall in Yahoo 8-category leagues it becomes increasingly clear that an opportunity has presented itself for a tap on the door of his GM and a kick of the tires to see what they are willing to accept.

More than anything, you will have their attention, as I am sure they are growing tired of NOT watching their prized C go 20 and 10 on a nightly basis.

Point God Chris Paul, was brought in to help anchor this young Sun’s squad and deliver a long-awaited playoff berth and carries with him a long resume of getting the best out of the bigs who run alongside him.

Tethered to that, was the expectation that Ayton would see an increase in scoring due to easier looks from Paul while being surrounded by sharpshooters in the form of Booker, Crowder, and Johnson.

That has yet to be the case but it is only because it has taken some time for this group to become completely cohesive. Even Devin Booker has fallen short of expectations thus far, which to me is an indicator that there is room for improvement. See if you can obtain him for a top 60-75 player and reap the rewards of a top 35 finish floor for Mr. Ayton.

Good night and good luck.
