Whaddup Razzballers, shot callers, twenty-inch blades on the Impala.

Shout to Lil’ Troy and the classic “Wanna be a Baller” which by no coincidence is the same question I would ask anyone I feature in this segment.

I am looking for any player that I deem to be underperforming in accordance with their ADP and current rank.

Understandably, there are going to be plenty of players that will not live up to their ADP that I do not feature here. The reason for that will, in all likelihood, be due to the fact I do not see a path to them reaching whatever pre-conceived standard was predicted for them prior to the season.

My goal here is to support you in your quest for fantasy basketball dominance in your league by shedding light on a player you should try to float some offers out for and reap the rewards of a large return on investment. These are players that their current GM might have grown tired of and will be ready to move on for a half-decent offer of a warm body or two.

So, at this time let us dive right into my undervalued player of the week……

Kelly Oubre Jr.

To say the Louisiana native is struggling to start the season would be an insult to the word “understatement”.

Diabolically dismal would be accurate in describing Oubre’s performance thus far and, while I recognize it is as early as a sunrise, his performance to date does create an opportunity for a savvy owner to take advantage. Any GM with a pulse who owns stock in the Bayou Bandit (not his official nickname but if he wants it I’ll let him have it) will listen to any and all offers at this point as they may want to jump ship with your life preserver of an offer.

There are shooting slumps and then there are shooting steep falls into the abyss. The latter is where we find Oubre’s current shooting woes.

Kelly Oubre is 25 years old and is currently shooting far below his age from the field at just 17.5% through his first three games. In addition, during that time, Kelly has yet to register a three-pointer, which seems unimaginable for any player in a Dub’s uniform who plays over 25 minutes a night.

Let me put it this way, Kelly is shooting 7 of 40 from the field in his first three games this season. Last season, he shot 20 of 39 through his first three outings while also going a perfect 19 for 19 from the line during that span.

Oubre was a 45% shooter from the field last season with 1.9 treys per game and I am willing to bet he deviates closer to that range than where he is currently.

In addition, one of the main reasons you look to draft a Kelly Oubre over some other wings with similar ADPs is for his defensive prowess and that is still currently intact. Kelly has racked up 6 steals and 2 blocks during this slump and that is an encouraging sign for the GM hoping to snag him on a discount.

A new team, new surroundings, new protocols may all be playing a role in the slow start for Oubre but I would not hesitate to get some offers out there for him and see if one sticks.

Tsunami Papi will arrive sooner than later, I suggest you get your rain gear ready and be there when it does.
