Chicago Bulls vs. Detroit Pistons

Bulls Notes:

  • Patrick Williams continued his solid play recently with an efficient 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting, with a pair of threes, steals, and blocks each. That’s the perfect form of production you’re looking for out of Williams. He’s not aggressive enough on offense to score bushels of points, but as long as the offense is coming from beyond the arc and he uses his size and athleticism to rack up stocks, Williams will have fantasy value. He’s scored in double figures in seven of his last nine, and hit multiple threes in eight of his last nine. He’s also averaging 1.1 SPG and 0.6 BPG in that span. The ceiling isn’t the highest, but he Williams is a decent add to round out a roster (28 percent rostered in Yahoo! standard leagues).

Pistons Notes:

  • Hamidou Diallo has been heating up. He scored 17 off the bench on 7-for-8 shooting with three rebounds and a steal in 21 minutes. His three highest scoring performances have come in his past four games. He’s averaging 15.0 PPG in that stretch on ridiculous 76 percent shooting. He’s got a unique fantasy skill set, specializing in points, FG% and steals. If for some reason you need that niche combo, it’s nice to know you have a viable fit available to stream, but Diallo (who hasn’t hit a three, blocked a shot, or recorded more than one assist in a game in over two weeks) can otherwise be left on the wire (five percent rostered).

Golden State Warriors vs. Boston Celtics

Warriors Notes:

  • The Warriors really went after this Finals rematch, shortening their rotation to their top eight, and even changing tactics and bringing Kevon Looney off the bench for the first time all season. Though Looney only played 20 minutes, he still put in yeoman’s work on the glass, hauling in 12 rebounds and adding three assists while converting his lone field goal attempt. Looney is a rebound specialist who can rack them up even in short minutes, so he’s worth streaming if you’re in need of boards (23 percent rostered).

Celtics Notes:

  • Grant Williams continues to struggle with his shot, going just 1-for-4 from the field last night in a mere 13 minutes. Over his past 12 games, Williams (23 percent rostered) has cracked double digits in the scoring column just three times, and has failed to connect from distance on five occasions (including Thursday). The only time to stream him is when Boston is resting at least one of their starting bigs, and outside of that the Celtics are a solved equation when it comes to fantasy.

Toronto Raptors vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

Raptors Notes:

  • Toronto’s starters rarely come off the floor, but even their bench is being consolidated to hardly more than one player getting real minutes. That player is Precious Achiuwa, who received more than 20 minutes for his fourth straight outing. Achiuwa is showing he deserves the opportunity, scoring in double figures in five of his past six after tallying 11 points last night. He also made a three and rejected a pair of shots (though the 0-fer at the line hurt both fantasy wise and in real life in a two-point defeat). Over his past six contests, Achiuwa is averaging 11.2 PPG, 1.2 3PTM, and 1.0 SPG. More boards and blocks—which he’s capable of achieving—would make him a must-add, but he’s on the streaming radar right now (17 percent rostered).

Wolves Notes:

  • Kyle Anderson‘s career week continues, as he stuffed the stat sheet once more. Anderson made eight of his nine shots to score 20 points, collected 10 rebounds, and dished out six helpers, adding two treys, two steals, and a block. Over his past three games Slo Mo has done his best Nikola Jokic impersonation, averaging 15.3 PPG on 64.5 percent shooting, to go along with 10.7 RPG, 8.0 APG, 2.3 SPG, and 1.0 BPG. Fantasy managers have taken notice and his roster share has skyrocketed to 56 percent. Don’t miss out on this run if he’s still available in your league.
