Same format as last week, with one readily available player per game and some additional insight into the game. I’d imagine that most fantasy leagues have either wrapped up or are in the finals, so take my picks this week as desperation moves. In the battle for the 9th seed out west, LaMelo Ball rose to the occasion while Ice Trae went Ice Cold from three. Despite his 15 assists, Trae Young finished with only nine points as he shot 3-of-12 from the field and 0-for-6 from downtown. Danilo Gallinari was averaging 14 points, five rebounds and four assists over the last week. However, he suffered an injury last night and would recommend dropping him for Onyeka Okongwu, who has averaged similar numbers and, with more opportunities, should score more.

I’ve called players like Royce O’Neal and Marcus Smart some of the league’s best defenders, but one player may have them all beat. This monster has on a nightly basis shut down some of the league’s best offensive weapons. His name is COVID-19, and over 25% of the league has been stripped by him at some point this season. So as we watch the league’s backup squads and aging vets inflate their stats, let’s dissect who is actually worth picking up.

2021-22 Utah Jazz Preview

The Jazz had an absolutely fantastic regular season last year, finishing first in the West with a record of 52 and 20. However come playoff time, they were exposed hard by Terrence Man and the small ball Clippers. You would expect a thunderous offseason of sweeping changes but no, the Jazz’s offseason was the quietest across the league. Only signing buy-low players such as Rudy Gay and Eric Paschall while re-signing Mike Conley. The Jazz are poised for another strong regular season, with the same flaws that haunted them in the playoffs.
