Man, I just realized that the NBA has six divisions. In the guise of journalistic integrity, I am contractually obligated to write one of these for every division now…
Again, if you missed the Central Division earlier in the offseason, I’m not focusing on the guys for risers in the early rounds… I’m looking for guys to make a leap and targets throughout the rest of the season. Teams are in order of how I predict they will finish. I find that order more fulfilling.

The Bulls lose and refuse to play Patrick Williams and Coby White in an effort to make the play in. Noble goal, but I was hoping to see more minutes go to these guys. Nikola Vucevic ruined a 4 three-pointer evening with 6 turnovers. Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan both disappointed with less than 20 points. The Bulls really aren’t interesting, but keep an eye on them if they tank and go to young guys at the end of the season. Keep in mind though that Williams and White aren’t actually very good.

Valentine’s Day is an objectively stupid holiday, and after 18 years of marriage the wife and I were good with a nice cup of coffee and takeout for the day. Regarding last week’s suggestions, both Quentin Grimes and especially Immanuel Quickley had great weeks and remain premium streaming targets until the Knicks get back to full strength. The same can be said for Jeremy Sochan, who with an exception of a dud in the blowout at Brooklyn seems like a good value for the rest of the season. On the contrary, Damion Lee never got it going in Devin Booker’s absence and the returns of both Landry Shamet and Cameron Payne put a nail in his fantasy relevance coffin.

It was a “double win” kind of night for sophomore guard Ayo Dosunmu on Wednesday, as he sent the Atlanta Hawks home crying in dramatic fashion, while simultaneously earning more playing time in the immediate future. A teammate never likes to see a fellow soldier go down, but Alex Caruso is now in concussion protocol, opening the door to a possible resurgence for Dosunmu who had recently faded into fantasy basketball anonymity. Let’s dig a little deeper into this game, as well as the rest of Wednesday’s fast-paced action in the NBA.

In this life, do-overs are rare. The opportunity to go back and change the mistakes of the past is reserved for science fiction plots or melancholy discussions over a pint in dimly-lit watering holes. But over this last week, I was presented with an opportunity to do just that – to go back with the knowledge of hindsight and fix where I failed, to atone, to set things right. I had screwed up once and now I was gifted a second chance. Please, I told myself, don’t blow it again.
