Hi Son, I need your advice. Herbert Jones was dropped. Should I drop my Kelly Oubre for Herbert Jones? I like Kelly Oubre too.
Really depends what you want
My team has scorers and turns it over quite a bit. I could use boards and FG% improvement. Given that which side do you prefer in each scenario (9 cats)
1. Sabonis or Rozier and Suggs
2. Bam or Rozier and Suggs
3. Bam for Maxey
4. Of these three options, which do you like the most.
1
Actually am hoping you would weigh in on each scenario. Which side on each and which is your favorite.
If you want boards, then Sabonis is the way. If you want some defensive stats, then go with Bam. You should know that I love Bam so….
Ok thanks. Boards are easier to find than what Bam brings I agree. So let me try to drag it out of you lol. Would you rather give up Maxey or Rozier and Suggs for Bam?
Probably Maxey
Please tank top three that might stick in a 12 team league:
Kessler
KMart Jr
Duren
Bagley
Monty Morris
Kessler, Duren, Morris
Hey Son! your advice would come real handy again.
10t H2H 9 cat – offer Kuz and Melton for Smart? Can’t seem to get the owner to respond with a one for one offer, and I think the fact that I can’t stream in such a shallow league also hurts me.
12t H2H – drop Roco? If he’s getting dnp-cds, then it looks like the fast lady is singing loud and clear. Would gladly keep him if he could bounce back, but when do you deem something a lost cause?
Also noticed Vando is a free agent in 10t – is he a must roster or is it a more conditional type deal in your opinion? End of roster is probably JabariS, Jaden, Kuz, Melton
Vandy depends on team needs. All those players could be viable. Really depends on roster construction and what you want
Why can’t you stream? What’s the squad look like?
As for RoCo, he was out due to health and safety protocols so probably want to hold him until you see how things shake out. He will probably be a 20 mpg player but reassess when new information is presented
I just feel the players I got are mostly too good to drop them (though you could make a case for me being too clingy to those I drafted.
Dame Melton TreJ
Rozier Hield Huerter
PG Jaden Kuz
JabariS Embiid KP Sengun RobWill
Huerter and Melton were pickups that look like holds right now, though that could change. Kuz feels decent enough to be used in a 2 for 1 deal perhaps.
Agreed. Squad looks good
So would it make sense to send the offer out, then? Can’t be too stingy given the wealth of potential options out there, I guess
Sure. If you think it makes your squad better, do it.
Hey man! No luck on Smart trade, not sure if owner just doesn’t like what I’m offering or is clueless on some mechanisms. In any case, for the same 10T 9cat H2H, would you keep Melton or drop for Jalen Williams? He’s currently in a very good situation minutes-wise with Harden-Tobias-Maxey missing time, but the statlines have been looking sort of timid. What do you think?
Also, thoughts on Derrick White (in this Melton-Williams comparison as well), purely a streamer due to current situation or could the value hold?
AND in light of Cade news, gonna add Killian Hayes to this list. Tyus Jones probably a more short-term thing.
So to clear up this odd bunch of comments, best option(s) out of Melton/White/Hayes/JWill?
I’d take a shot at Killian. He could potentially find himself in a starter’s role for the entire season.
Got it! Will drop Melton for Hayes, then, thanks!
Good luck. Just realize that Cade could return and play, which would take shine off
Thanks! Just one more thing though. Would you hold Jabari Smith over both of them? My main reason for holding him has been his auction price of 4 bucks and hope of him turning into a dollar store JJJ, but how much value he offers in the short term is still uncertain. Whole question actually stems from not wanting to drop Melton before the game starts so as to get his production before picking up Hayes, although he might have been picked up by then.
Really depends on your outlook. I think he improves as the season progresses
Yeah, as soon as I wrote that I felt that I probs can’t bring myself to drop him, not now anyway.
So I’m just left with the choice between snapping Hayes up right away and waiting until the games start so I can stream one last game from Melton (plus keep tabs on what he’ll do with both Harden and Maxey out), which carries the risk of missing out on Hayes. Hard to determine the better move, but it also sounds dumb to spend this much time on one decision!
This is why you get paid the big bucks. I’d take the shot with Hayes, but that’s just me. Both Harden and Maxey will return at some point but there’s a non-zero chance that Cade is done for the year.
Haha, true! Also kind of counterintuitive to deny yourself the fun of just rolling with some fun moves every once in a while, so made it happen. Thanks! (Melton triple-double alert probably incoming now)
Maxey is out for a few weeks. Decisions, decisions. I could make arguments for both.
Now once again managed to pick up Melton for Hayes. Small sample size, but based on the last game maybe dude finally turned a corner?
By the way, what’s your general feel on Kuz and Lillard? I think you weren’t too high on the former, but he’s been fairly solid even, while I just wonder if Dame just is injury prone now or are there better days ahead?
You dropped Hayes?
I like Kuz. Wrote him up in recap last night. As for Dame, I have so many shares so I’m sad. That calf injury may be an issue all season. No way to know though
Yeah I’m just wondering whether to try and ship him off if he returns and plays well for a while.
I did drop Hayes, it’s kind of like switching out the last pieces on my roster. You could probably easily make a claim for dropping Jaden, but being a Wolves fan plays into it, plus I’ve so few SFs already, and his defensive acumen comes in handy. Same kind of applies for Buddy (SG/SF), although he’s pretty much a 3-ball guy AND I’m not sure if he’s at a risk of turning into a pumpkin if Indiana opts for a youth movement or he just becomes a rotation piece for, say, the Lakers. Huerter is in a good position as well, so I just don’t know. This is why shallow leagues suck, I suppose. I could make some of these moves, but I wouldn’t be happy dropping any of ’em
I don’t hate trading away Dame for someone more secure.
Shallow leagues provide for more decisions for sure. Go with your gut, it usually knows.
Yeah, the silver lining is that since there’s so much value around, you’re bound to miss out on some good players without it being too tragic.
Guess there’ll be plenty of time to think until Dame returns, but I’m clueless as to who you could even target in terms of the general ballpark. Could even consider a 2-for-1 but for whom?
Can’t say I didn’t know what I was getting into, drafting Embiid-Dame-PG13, lol.
Yeah, I hear you. Would want a first or second rounder in return. It just takes one Dame believer.
I don’t think value holds for White
I’d hold Melton
I received a massive trade offer which needs your insights. My first reaction was that I am giving up too many D stats and assists, but the boards and FG % are nice. Would you accept or decline this:
I receive: JVal, Portis, Hyland, Herbert Jones
I give: Westbrook, Royce, Duren, Suggs
12 teamer, 9 cats. Here is my squad:
Dame, Suggs, Jrue, Westbrook,
Seth Curry, Rozier, Maxey
Ingram, Royce, McCollum
PJ Wash, Duren
Joker
Streamer spot: Payne now
I like that trade for you
Dude is anxious. He also sent me JVal and Herb for Westbrook and Duren.
Better or worse than his first offer
first
9 cat league. In a vacuum which side do you prefer in these scenarios focused on long term – so when LaMelo is back and Zion is hurt.
1. Sabonis and Barrett or Ingram and Maxey
2 Sabonis and Barrett or Rozier and Maxey?
If Sabonis side, which is better?
What’s squad look like?
Dame, Jrue, Suggs, Westbrook, Maxey, Rozier, Ingram, PJ Wash, Joker, McCollumWiggins, Royce, Seth Curry, Duren
My bad. Same squad. I like 2 better
Thanks. Just to be sure…the Sabonis side is better right?
For what you’re trying to do, yes
Trying to bolster FG% and boards.
Is sending away Westbrook or Wiggins for Carter Jr. a fair trade ? Preference?
Has that been offered to you or you are proposing?
No deal offered yet. I inquired and he said he liked Carter more than most owners. Plus he said only 1-1 trades – no 2-1. So the ball is in my court.
K. Without looking at the rosters, I don’t think either of those players will entice him to move WCJ
I did receive an offer of his Vandy and Embiid for my Lillard and Westbrook.
Not sure what to think about that one.
This is an offer:
His Embiid and Portis for my Lillard and Westbrook. Not worried about roster construction as this is a h2h league so I am always trading for value early – then needs later in the season. So from that perspective, which side has the edge?
I like the embiid side
Not sure I understand your trade analyzer tool. Is it strictly a regression to the mean model? Several valuations make no sense if we were to redraft today.
I don’t know either.
Hey Son! Some more dilemmas: in 18t points, would you drop Nowell to stream JRich because of Spurs schedule this week or just stay put? Already have Bassey, think there’s also Sochan on the wire.
And the same question for 10t H2H 9 cat – would you drop Melton to stream, for example, the same Bassey, or stay put? He’s gone pretty cold but there is a reason why fantasy heads like him, so… I’m not sure
Would replace nowell. Would hold onto Melton
Thanks!
Son,
Hey! I sit in 1st, Very early, my roster is as follows:
PG – Paul
SG – Herro
G – Trent Jr.
SF – Edwards
PF – Durant
F – OG
C – Allen
C – Lopez
UTIL – Hordford
UTIL – Kuzma
B – Ayo
B – Wall
B – Huerter
Would you sell high on Lopez ? I was thinking of packaging AE & Lope for a Hali or a KAT. Is that too much? It’s a standard H2H 9 CAT.
Thanks!!
I’d definitely sell high if you can. You start 2 centers so you have to figure out how you want to address that second slot. Not sure I’d want to rely on Horford all year
