Hey Son!

Excited for the new season. You lead me to a Championship last year and I’m looking forward to another season the the Razz-Team!

Will you be putting out Punt Rankings again this season? If you don’t want to do it for all categories, feel free to just make one for FG%-Punt and everyone else can fend for themselves!

Thanks!

That’s great! I’ll keep an eye out.

Thanks to Lonzo knee issues and Miles Bridges… well, ISSUES… My keeper falls to Saddiq Bey. We’re going to need to pull off some draft magic this season!

Eyo Son! Been a while, but always a blast to head to RB come regular season.

Looking for any pointers if you can find the time, a bit lost this time around.
18T points league (pretty standard stuff I’d say, with steals, blocks and the like and field goals made, free throws made all amounting to 1 point and points scored amounting to said amount of points scored, etc. I drafted as well as I could, and often went for some picks for positional versatility so as to be able to field a full squad as often as possible (we also have only one UTIL spot, which makes it ever more important). But I’m looking at my team and wondering if there’s any better value on the wire. Here goes:

My team:

G: Kyrie Fox Lowry Melton Z.Williams
F: MPJ Hayward CalebMartin CamJohnson
C: Siakam Turner PJWash

Wire:
G: Quickley Nowell Grimes TreMann NAW TreyMurphy Reaves Primo DavionMitch JoshChristopher
F: Lpnnie Walker, Little, Richardson, JavonteGreen, GrantWilliams, Aldama
C: Ibaka

Naz Reid, and I guess Bol Bol for the hell of it deserve to be named as well. Not sure bout Mark Williams, J. Hayes, DMC/Blake/LMAO/Howard, but they’re all also there.

You drafted a good team. Have patience grass hopper. Sometimes the best move is not making a move at all. Let your creation play out a bit then adjust then.

Back again, though – Ziaire Williams hasn’t really had as much as a look in this pre-season, while Trey Murphy has been making a case for some minutes with his performances for the Pels. Do you think I should stand pat or is any sort of clue a player might have an edge enough to make the move? I’m guessing Austin Reaves, Bullock, Okoro, JRich are all less rosterable than either two? Just the fact that Williams ain’t getting minutes annoys me big time.

I like Trey Murphy. Don’t have an issue if you make that swap but I’m pretty bullish on Zaire

Aha – are you expecting him to start getting minutes sometime later in the season or what’s the deal?

If I could, I’d hold all of Trey, Ziaire and Nowell but I guess that’s life – and I’m mainly jumpy because we have a daily waivers system, so I could never act on a breakout too conservatively. Not averse to holding him because there is competition on the wings In Nola, but it just seems like a tough choice

I think he’s a part of the rotation from the get go with upside if certain things break his way.

Go with your gut, man. It usually knows. We all have different perspectives, values and motivations.

Hey Son! Other drafts finally over as well, turning to you once again for some advice. H2H 9cat league, 10 teams. Some things went awry in the auction but its still fairly OK, however with RobWill injured, I have one free spot, plus I’m definitely willing to drop some fliers for others if need be. What do you think of this squad and the following waiver options?

PG Lillard TreJones Hyland
SG Rozier Hield
SF George Jaden McD
PF Jabari Kuzma
C Embiid Sengun RobWill

Waiver (in no particular order)

Ivey, Westbrook, Suggs, LeVert, NormPowell, BogBog, Barton, Huerter, Beverley, Fultz, Love, I. Stewart, Duarte, Olynyk, Dosunmu, Poku, KCP.

Thanks! Any other wings (SG/SF types mainly) that would merit consideration of Jaden, or just stay put and keep tabs?

I think you good but it really depends what you want

Yeah, I’m not sure myself, I’m probably still looking for both defensive stats (which Jaden could provide) and assists. This combo makes me consider dropping, say, Bones for Suggs (probably ahead of Fultz) if he’s cleared to return, Beverly is similarly a source of defensive stats and assists (and my team is primed to be poor in FG% anyway). As for the other contenders, I don’t know – Kelly’s role in Utah will be an important factor, Stewart is teasing the prospect of a three-ball-chucker with blocks, plus I like Huerter, whose profile is kind of similar as a taller guard with a penchant for downtown shots. That’s the thing with 10-teamers, you’re kind of spoilt for choice

I forgot about PatBev, but I don’t know how highly he’s rated as of recent (not to mention the Lakers rotation being a bit of a questionmark)

Yo, you good. You drafted your guys for a reason. Let things play out before you start tinkering. I think the only reason to change things up would be due to injury or a change in role

Good point, good point! Tinkering is just so hard to stay away from, but gotta direct that energy elsewhere I suppose

Some open-ended stuff though: what do you think of Derrick White this year? Pre-season just a trap or could he turn it around this year? His fantasy profile is nice, but the guard rotation at Boston could be a logjam that negatively affects all involved.

And similarly, what do you think about Orlando (Suggs, Fultz, Cole, etc) and Denver (Murray, Bones & Co) in terms of fantasy value? Potential producers in all of them, but pretty hard to say who gon come through. Apologies if you’ve already discussed it somewhere here

Thanks! It’s a real interesting face-off (so to speak). Currently holding Bones, but all the other guys are very interesting because I’m looking for versatile production (dimes, steals and the like). Plenty to keep tabs on once the ball is tipped off.

IIF you don’t mind chipping in, some more players on the wire on whom your opinion would be very interesting: Bryant, Isaiah Jackson, Melton, Olynyk, Eason.

Aha. Who’d you consider dropping for him? I am neutral on Kuzma, but he’s probably solid enough an option to keep, and neutral on Bones, who also has upside, and I like Jaden (only T-Wolves player I got anywhere), though rationally he might be the fall guy if he’s starting next to Ant, KAT, Rudy and D’Lo. Poku probably worth keeping over the Boneses and Jadens?
