The Razzball Elite League (REL) has just wrapped up its third week, with Martyball – IFBL taking a huge 8-1-0 victory and vaulting into first place.

Since I’m A – lazy, and B – don’t like trying to articulate what others are thinking, I’m going to only put in recaps from fantasy owners themselves in the league if they want to contribute.  So if you’re in the REL and didn’t see my post on the league, shoot me an e-mail sometime on any Sunday night with your thoughts on the previous week if you want your voice heard on the post!  If you’re in a deep league yourself and wondering who’s out there on your very thin wire, checking out the FAAB moves made by the REL competish should help guide you a bit.  Here’s how the league is looking:

After starting 1-8, I’ve gone 14-4 in the last two weeks to get on the other side of .500. Carmelo and Kevin Love continue to carry the load, but I got help from some unlikely sources. Trevor Ariza suffered a hamstring injury in the Wizards game against the Spurs, allowing Martell Webster some extra run (averaging 17.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.5 3-pointers in two games without Ariza). I drafted Jordan Hill thinking he would be starting alongside Pau Gasol. Mike D’Antoni finally figured out what I knew all along. In four starts, Hill put up monster numbers, averaging 18.75 points, 12 rebounds, and 1.75 blocks. It’s highly unlikely he keeps up these averages, but he should remain the starter, since Chris Kaman and Shawne Williams have been underwhelming so far. Feeling good about my team, I decided to hold onto my waiver budget for the third week in a row.

9. Doug – tdbsports.com (9-9-0)

FAAB Remaining: $98 FAAB Moves this week: n/a

10. Cigar Smoking Monkey (15-12-0)

FAAB Remaining: $43  FAAB Moves this week: Michael Beasley ($46)

11. Slim – Razzball (12-13-2)

FAAB Remaining: $87  FAAB Moves this week: Robbie Hummel ($4)

With a 6-3 win, I’m now only a game under .500.  OK… I didn’t have a very good week and I’ve got guys at every position losing playing time so it isn’t all champagne wishes and caviar dreams, is it Larry Sanders?  Alec Burks and Steven Adams have underwhelmed in a few starts but they are young and still learning.  Patience grasshopper.  My team was carried by the same guys as last week.  Roy Hibbert blocks 16 and wins the category.  Jordan Crawford led my team in assists and steals.  Darius Morris delivered what I had hoped for and I’m going to hold on to him for a little longer.  I will have trouble winning points and rebounds for a while with all of my injuries and youth so I will try to focus on what I can win:  Assists, 3 PTM, and Steals to go along with my strengths of FT%, Blocks, and Turn Overs.  I’m hoping to see improvements next week out of Jerryd Bayless, Tim Hardaway Jr, and Reggie Jackson in particular or I’m not going to win too many categories.

12. Hoopus Alleyoopus (12-14-1)

FAAB Remaining: $92  FAAB Moves this week: n/a

13. Team Tough Guy Town (11-14-2)

FAAB Remaining: $89  FAAB Moves this week: Shabazz Muhammad ($11)

14. Ben – RotoGold (11-15-1)

FAAB Remaining: $100 FAAB Moves this week: n/a

15. Scurry to the Left (11-16-0)

FAAB Remaining: $100  FAAB Moves this week: n/a

16. Kinsey’s Team (10-17-0)

FAAB Remaining: $100  FAAB Moves this week: n/a

17. JB Gilpin – Razzball (9-17-1)

FAAB Remaining: $56 FAAB Moves this week: Shawne Williams ($4), Diante Garrett ($3)

Another tough week for me, as I took a 3-5-1 loss needing 17 points from Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (unlikely) and 1 block (unlikelier) in the final game to win 5-4-0.  Alas, none-a-dat happened.  De-railed this week by the Greg Stiemsma injury (sad but true; would’ve pushed me in boards and won me blocks), Toney Douglas injury, Brandon Knight slow to return, Andrew Bynum’s family matter… yada, yada, yada, my team sucks and is hurt!  But my squad is still young and I have a bright outlook with Serge Ibaka coming on and upside from my youngsters.  Nashed Potatoes is a tough team top-to-bottom, but I’ve got another tough one against Kap’s team this week.  His Jordan Hill $4 buy is sure paying dividends.  I added some depth guys dropping the hurt Stiemsma and T-Doug, and hoping it comes together.  We need you, Knight!  We need you…

18. I’m a Currian (9-18-0)

FAAB Remaining: $99  FAAB Moves this week: n/a

19. ChazTop-KevinBottom (9-18-0)

FAAB Remaining: $75  FAAB Moves this week: n/a

20. Mr Green – Nowhere (6-21-0)

FAAB Remaining: $52  FAAB Moves this week: Jan Vesely ($2)
