Geez, open the triage, we might not have any beds open in our Fantasy Basketball Infirmary after this weekend!  Way to sully the excitement of players debuting on new teams…

I guess an injury that made a lot of people surly is a year with no more Sully.  Stress reactions have been claiming lots of games lately, and Jared Sullinger will be shut down for the year with lingering issues in his foot.  I blame Brad Stevens!  Gives me stress reactions…

The Celtics have been anything but consistent with rotations, but Kelly Olynyk should be primed for a little consistency whence he’s back from his kankle.  Right now it’s Tyler Zeller manning the 5 with Brandon Bass at the 4, and those three should split most of the big man minutes.  Zeller’s nice %s with the big man stats can be usable on a lot of teams and Bass, who went 15/5/1/0/2 on 7-11 FG in 40 minutes last night always seems to be underrated.  Olynyk of Nazareth is the guy to own, but he’s not miles ahead of the other two.  I wouldn’t mind a spec add for any of the bunch, but not dropping anyone of too much value.  Here’s what else went down over an injury-plagued weekend of fantasy basketball action:

Anthony Davis Ughhh.  Re-injured his shoulder when trying to hitstick Hassan Whiteside, and advantage Whiteside.  I mean, Hassan weighs like 4 times as much!  MRI luckily was clean, but he’ll miss 1-2 weeks with a shoulder strain.

Ryan Anderson Got hurt minutes later, falling very awkwardly in a non-contact resulting in an MRI sprain.  Definitely thought it was worse watching the game.  His timetable is 2-4 weeks, but with the Pelicans so banged up and falling further out of the race, I’d bet it be even over 4.  A drop in virtually all redraft leagues.

Alexis Ajinca I guess he’s your spec pickup with these guys hurt, but Dante Cunningham should move to some 4 minutes and Omer Asik will play a bajillion minutes.  I’m not going after Ajinca particularly hard in any leagues.

Jason Richardson – Man, it’s like some cosmic alignment or something, with J-Rich back on the court and everyone else getting hurt!  He actually looked decent for 7/7/2/2/1 in his debut, but disappeared for 7/5/1/0/0 last night.  Hit a trey in both and will have minutes limits, but actually deserves a look in deepers.

Rodney Stuckey – Whoa, back-to-back 30-burgers!  Better late than never with that sleeper call, amiright?!  Exactly 30 in both, hit 2 treys in both, and hit nice FT in both.  It’s nothing to get too excited about beyond the points, but multi-treys in 4 straight and 15+ points in 5-straight.

James Johnson D-Fense!  Or would I have to spell it D-Fence?  I dunno, either way JJ went bonkers Saturday night for 27/5/0/4/4.  Now, it was a blowout loss, no Lou Williams, and both Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan were mad cold, it was JJ’s career high, and had 2 steals and 2 blocks Friday but only 5 combined steals and blocks the 8 games before that.  I’m not too excited yet.

Caron Butler – Shifted into the starting line-up for 20/4/3/4/0 on Friday night, but fell back down to Earth yesterday for 7/1/2/1/0.  No TO in either though, but unless you’re in a deeper you’re grasping at straws.

Reggie Jackson Welcome to Motown!  17/5/5 in his debut, no steals and shot only 7-18 with 3 TO, but looked mad good out there.  And Detroit beat the Wizards!  Really excited.

Spencer Dinwiddie Picked up the spot start after the Break before R-Jax was ready for 12/3/9/3/0, but shot only 0-6 yesterday in 18 bench minutes.  That said, had another 7 dimes and could be a deep league assists-streamer.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope I was yelling “he’s on fire!” during the whole game yesterday afternoon.  26/2/1/2/0 hitting 10-20 FG with 6-13 from deep.  Super ThrAGNOF!  And I just took such a big hit of KCP and trippin’ balls back on my KCP addiction.

Shabazz Napier Speaking of trade-depleted minutes!  ‘Bazz for 18/7/6 in 34 minutes off the bench Friday, but had 7 TO in that one and went back to a low-minute bench role Saturday.

Goran Dragic Welcome to Miami!  And just like the end of Dexter, booed out of town…  12/3/1/1/0 hitting only 4-11 FG and 3-6 FT.  It will get better, so if anyone is panicky, try and sneak out some buy lows.

Mario Chalmers – Quaddub alert!  13/6/7/8/0 blowing out the lowly Knicks Friday night.  Flukedub alert!

Chris Bosh – As I mentioned when it broke Thursday night, he indeed has blood clots in his lungs and will miss the rest of the year.  Awful, awful news.  No big asset emerges fantasy-wise either.  Whiteside should continue to develop and Dragic should be a monster, at least let’s hope!

Langston Galloway The Harlem Renaissance with pretty good lines in the post-Carmelo Anthony era going 19/3/4/2/1 Friday and 13/6/5/1/0 Sunday.  Nothing is going to pop out and say MUST OWN, but across the board production with low-ish TO is a renaissance indeed…

Tim Hardaway Jr. – Hit some 3s Friday and was decent, then was cold Sunday and wasn’t… ThrAGNOF!

Shabazz Muhammad Yikes.  Out for the year with finger surgery, and Anthony Bennett is out for two weeks as well.  We only had the one Wolves game Friday night, so we should see an interesting bench rotation tonight and I think it’s Adreian Payne time!  Was a rough 0-6 in his Minnesota debut, but tried 2 treys and had 2 blocks.

Gorgui Dieng Also in line for more assured minutes even though he didn’t get the start after the Thaddeus Young trade.  Still went Dieng train on the Suns though!  15/12/1/0/2 on 6-8 FG.  Choo choo!  About to get a wild ride aboard the Dieng train!

Alex Len Look at dem minutes!  35 mins on Friday for 11/10 with 6 blocks, then another 34 Saturday for 8/11/1/0/1.  Tons of minutes on a back-to-back!  Entering must-own territory – looked really good on Friday night during portions I watched.

Brandon Knight Pretty empty 13/0/5/0/0 in his Suns debut, but came off the bench against a tough defensive team there in Chicago.  Gerald Green has really struggled since IT2 and Dragic were shipped off, so Knight should get big minutes as he gets more Allen Iverson-time in.

Rajon Rondo Man, he’s like possessed by some sort of Trey Burke demon or something!  Horrific weekend with 10 TO to only 7 AST in 2 games with 1-4 FT.  You probably couldn’t even get a Mondo for him in a trade!

Chandler Parsons Heard a “bing” when he twisted his ankle.  Out the next three games, and look for Al-Farouq Aminu to pick up some PT and be a much, much worse shooter.

Jusuf Nurkic The Jamba Jus is open for business!  Huge rainbow Friday for 11/15/2/2/3 with no TO.  Struggled a tad yesterday against the Thunder, but man is his dynasty stock climbing faster than Apple the past 10 years!  Apple Jamba Jus!

Ty Lawson – What everyone loves to see on a shortened week, a star getting benched for missing practice.  Well, we all know he got that world class UNC edumacation!

Randy Foye – Well, looks like this possibility was a bust.  The Nuggets keep starting the way oversized Danilo Gallinari at the 2, and spoiled alert!  Lost both games that way…

Rudy Gobert It’s Gobert’s world and we just live in it!  Got a glimpse of what kind of defensive powerhouse Utah could be in a 4/7/2/0/5 line.  Not huge, but only played 24 minutes fighting foul trouble and the real-life impact was huge.  Monsieur Elbow!

Avery Bradley Monster weekend, and played 83 minutes!  28/3/6/4/1 Friday and 20/5/3/3/0 last night, and not a single TO in either.  Mr. Efficient!  And Mr. Almost hit a buzzer-beat to move last night into OT.

Isaiah Thomas Came off the bench in his debut for the C’s, and looked solid for 21/5/3/2/0 with 3 treys in 25 minutes.  He was a little sick and should play more, if not overtake Marcus Smart.

Evan Turner Bootstrap’s bootstraps!  12/6/12/2/0, and while IT2 can be an engine for an offense, he’s never been a 10 APG guy.  Should keep the popcorn stats-a-rollin’!  But Turner shot 5-19 FG and had another 4 TO…

Omri Casspi Somebody box out!  Casspi goin’ ham (which might not be kosher…) on the glass for 7/12/6/1/0 Friday and 11/17/1 Saturday.  Played 59 minutes in those games with a trey in both.  Looking like a big part of the Karl system.

Deron Williams – “Wahhhh, my hamstring!”  Jarrett Jack missed Friday and is doubtful tonight, so D-Will got to turn back the clock and is another example that the planets of Jupiter are in some retrograde shizz or somethin’…  D-Will is healthy while no one else is?!  12/4/15/2/1 against the lowly Lakers and Jordan Clarkson‘s inconsistent defense.  Short-term fine, but not buying a D-Will renaissance.

Jordan Hill – Welcome back, and the hips don’t lie!  5-15 FG 12/10/1/1/1 in a little bit of a rusty return Friday and only 10/5/1/0/1 in 19 minutes Sunday.  I still think he should be scooped up by any team needing a big.

Kevin Durant Sigh.  Had a procedure to switch out a screw in his foot and will be re-evaluated in a week.  “He’s more machine now than man.”  Now you have to hold…  It’s like being stuck with shizz cards in poker.  Don’t fold em!

Enes Kanter Well, at least somebody is happy KD is out!  10/13 in his debut then 8-12 FG 20/12 Saturday.  Looks like he will have a run here of putting up numbers similar to what he did in Utah.

Serge Ibaka Look at that improving FG%!  18-32 over the weekend, 36/20, and 11 swats.  Comin’ around!

Russell Westbrook M!V!P!  Gus Ayonin!

Mo Williams – I was huge on the move, and he’s straight ballin’!  24/4/12 with 5 treys in his debut Friday, then 22/1/3/3/0 with 3 treys last night.  Mo starting minutes, mo championships!

Corey Brewer – Saturday is Brew night!  26/10/2/5/0 on 12-19 shooting.  Who woulda thought when Brewer was picked up he would ever lead the Rockets in shots or points in a game?!

Terrence Jones – Getting some buzz after 11/9/1/0/3 Saturday and 9/9/2/1/4 Friday.  Even in 27:20 MPG last year, TJones was only a 1.3 BPG guy, so a 3.5 BPG weekend seems fluky and the looming Dwight Howard still scares me for minutes ROS.

Austin Rivers “Daddy, it’s a blowout, can I shoot a lot now?!”  “Sure son!”  28/1/2/3/0 on Saturday night when the Clips dethroned the Kings.  More like defiled!

Stephen Curry You just can’t depend on anyone anymore…  A late DNP with a sore foot, but sounds like more of a precautionary move.  Horrific blow to shortened-week-Curry teams though…  It burns!

Klay Thompson Tried to carry the Warriors with 39 points, but it was at the cost of virtually no other input.  Get well soon Curry!

Nerlens Noel Captain N getting the big swatters out!  12/9/0/4/9 in a monster line Friday then a rainbow 10/3/5/2/2 last night.  It’s all coming together…

Isaiah Canaan Wasn’t exactly a monster in his Sixers debut, but 14/4/3/0/1 with 4 treys is a pretty solid start.  Other than Robert Covington, was the only Sixer to take over 10 shots.  He’s going to get some mad usage.

Arron Afflalo – 8/4/2/1/0 in his Portland debut.  Later AA!

LaMarcus Aldridge Yeah, everyone is missing time!  Late scratch with his thumb issue, and this could be something that crops up here and there ROS.  To Live and Die with LA

Streamers/Cheap Daily League Picks:

Trevor Booker (2% owned) – A little bit of a dart throw, but you play your bigs against the Spurs.  With Gobert a foul trouble risk and the Jazz likely needing a little O, I could see a niceun from Book.

Patrick Patterson (30% owned) – There’s some other cheap options I might like better, but Pit-Pat is tough to hold onto long-term & no questions asked, which is why he is streamer bait!  It’s like jail bait, but with less arrests.  In what should be a blowout in Nawleans with all their injuries, Pit-Pat should get some extended run.

I hope everyone had a healthy weekend and we’ll see ya back tomorrow!

    JB,

In my 16 team H2H I am locked for the first seed before play-offs (first round starts March 16th). I got offered Ryan Anderson for Nene or Smart. Who would you give up in vacuum?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Martin: Ummm, if you need 3s I would give up Nene for him, but otherwise I dunno if I’d even do it for either. Pels way out and I think it lasts a while for Ryno

  2. hamtime says:

    1. grabbed corey brewer to stream but looking to get mason plum for him. is mason worth owning in a 14m/9cat?

    2. slipped to 8th in my 16m/11cat with a brutal 3 week sched, have blake (staph), kemba (knee), olynyk (loser), and just getting obliterated 3-8 weekly. Would you trade kemba for trey? or kemba+kelly for ajinca+chalmers just to stay alive? or blake for nurk? obviously muy desperado.

    • hamtime says:
      (link)

@hamtime: 3. also own kd (loser) in my 14m/9cat. should i trade him for klay? or anyone who i can get at least 2nd round value for? i just hate what hes done this season.

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@hamtime: 1. Ummm sure he’s prob back end ownable, but I kinda like Brewer more right now. 2. Haha “(loser)” Def not doin Blake one. Ummm Chalmers one, yeah desperate times I like that one. 3. Def go for more than Klay. Another commenter needing bigs got Klay and Vuc. I like that value

        • Hamtime says:
          (link)

@JB Gilpin: @JB Gilpin: so my Ariza blake Kemba for klay favors offer just got accepted. I know it sounds heavy on paper, but with Kemba 3 weeks away and mo will in town, I just can’t afford the risk. Love Ariza and blake, but I needed the sure thing now. Still a chance this gets vetoed as its a trade to the 12th place team. Thoughts?

          • JB Gilpin

            JB Gilpin says:
            (link)

@Hamtime: Nice I love it! Deal away your injury risk for some great pieces. If that gets veto then I veto your leaguemates out of your league…

  3. Guidedbyvoices says:
    (link)

Jb….what do you think about the deal?….

    10 tm h2h standard scoring(w/out TOs)we keep five.

I give up Wiggins and my 2 ,6 and 7 picks for Melo,Hayward & B Lopez plus his last 3 picks.now my 5 keepers are Curry,Cousins,Melo,Hayward and either Lopez or Rubio.i currently have the lat playoff spot at six,so I think it helps me now as well.

    So….

    Thanks.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Guidedbyvoices: Nahhhh that sounds like way too much. Might help you a tad now, and Melo next year is nice, but decimates you filling out your roster in the draft

  4. Wutang says:
    (link)

Hey JB! I’m pretty sure I could read what you write all day, always somethin to learn and the jokes only make it better!

I’m first in my league, but clinging on by 1/2 a game after a rough loss in a shortened week – made a move for durant last week, and he hasn’t played yet! My league takes 8 teams to the playoffs, so I think that means I don’t take a bye in the first week… So cross your fingers that this is just a slide!

Anyways, I’ve been pretty active on the trade market and waiver wire this year, and my team is looking like this at this point:

PG: Wall, MCW, Canaan, Walker (stashed)
    SG: Harden, Galloway, EGordon
    SF: Ariza, Kawhi, Durant
    PF: Millsap, TJones
    C: Dieng

As you can see, I’m clearly tanking FG%, Reb, Blocks, and TO’s while running away with 3’s, Pts, Ast, Stls, and FT% (thanks harden!). However, I’ve been looking at making a move for Cousins with the same owner I stole durant from (for knight mozgov and bogut….) Think I can use Ariza as the centerpiece. Think I could work something out?

As well, is Canaan/Galloway’s spot considered a streamer? Pretty active wire going on.

If you could let me know your opinion on the trade, if I should be making any more moves, and if I need some more streamers Id love to hear it! You da man

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Wutang: Thanks so much man! Really really appreciate that!

Whew yeah let’s hope you can stick that bye! Whoa you def stole KD! Even with the injury concerns. Ummm, I dunno if he’d wanna trade a stud again but you can def try. Ariza + Dieng? Dieng should have some upside and he gives Reb/Blk good FG% you don’t need, but I higly highly doubt it’s enough.

Hmmm I like both. I would prob try to hold those Gs.

Yeah Dieng is def a guy I’d shop based on the above and your team construction. Maybe looking for stretch big men for the 3s. Hope that helps!

      • Wutang says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: it helps a lot!

Got offered Paul George for Canaan… Should I hold stash n pray, or go with my team now?

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Wutang: Nah in a redraft, I think I would stick with Canaan, I don’t know how much George gives us this yr

  5. Tsilaeri says:

    Thanks for the post!

Hmm… which one do you like better?

    Jordan Hill or Olynyk?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Tsilaeri: I’d prob take Hill, but very very close. If 3s are a need at all, it’s close enough to go Oly

  6. miles proudfoot says:
    (link)

Hey, welcome back guys! These injuries are rough, but maybe looking to take advantage where I could. Howard was dropped across the board and I could stash him til the playoffs or replace Holiday or Walker who I just haven’t been able to drop yet. Any update with him

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@miles proudfoot: Def losing Holiday. Bleak to say the least. Walker said he doesn’t wanna rush the mid-March timetable and with Mo Williams looking great, I think I’d expect late March at the earliest

      • Miles proudfoot says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: thanks, really helpful. How about Howard ? Unless I’ve missed something I’m not even sure what his theoretical timetable looks like

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Miles proudfoot: Yeah you haven’t, I think he’s still without one. I’ve seen he’s done some light things, but I’m not too interested in 9cat H2H, hurts you so many places and it’s even worse in roto

  7. Robert says:

Hey man just got offered Durant for my Hayward in a 8-cat league. Should I do it?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

@Robert: Yeah that’s enough of a discount to take KD

@Bgrizzle: Whew, Faried has just fallen apart. This late, I’m actually fine doing it even though it hurts. Would prob Zeller

    Hey JB…

So the KD news has me confused about what is right and wrong with the world.. here’s my dilemma – this is my last week before the playoffs and although i’m comfortable in (3rd) I don’t think I can beat the top team with a flaky KD, you think I should try to move him quickly for another first or second rounder? Who do you think I should target? Teams below. (also teams with the best playoff schedules are Mem, Den, and GS)

    My Team
    Korver
    PBev
    KD
    JHill
    PMilsap
    Elfrid
    Gannis

    Wes Johnson

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Johnny: Haha I know the feeling man! Yeah I’m good moving KD for a good first rounder or a 2nd plus something. Klay+Vuc I’ve seen and really like. Even with CP3, I might target a PG. Conley or Lawson + something both might come at great discounts

      • Johnny says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Can’t seem to get anyone to bite on anything (everyone is very injury skittish in my league).. how low would you go with Durant if playoffs start next week? Am I worrying too much about this foot thing? Somebody give the kid some damn hi-top sneakers

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Johnny: Hah yeah I’m def worried, but not to the point where I wouldn’t insist on getting pretty good value back. If playoffs were next week though, it might be totally without KD week 1… Needs thoe new shoes in the worst way!

    Happy Monday!
What do you think of my Knight and Tobias Harris for his Dragic and Motiejunas?

    My team consists of:
Harden, Teague, Knight, Canaan, THarris, JJohnson, Kief, Ghayward, Covington, Zbo, Gortat, Whiteside, and Tjones.
I’m currently first and should be able to get a first round bye if I win one more week in the next 3. Trying to improve my playoff schedule

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Lord Covington: No case of the Mondays here! Yeah rough rough sched for Harris. That said, I think you could get a tad more, maybe try to get someone a tad better than Motie

  12. Scort says:

10 team league, 10 CAT (FTM)

    PG: Bledsoe, Rubio, G. Hill,
    SG: Harden, Mo Williams
    SF: Kawhi, Draymond, PJ Tucker
    PF: Millsap, Favours
    C: Len, Bogut, D-Mo, Nurkic

Want: To improve my FG% and FT%

Favours FT% is killing me. Should I trade him for Tyson Chandler or Gorgui Dieng?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Scort: I usually wouldn’t, but man Gorgui is looking at some good upside. Maybe try for Gorgui+something small, I dunno if I’d do it for Chandler

  13. AC says:

Would you rather have RoLo or Mason Plumlee to close out the year? I know your disdain for RoLo, but I am a little concerned about Mason’s playing time now that Thad is in the mix.

@AC: Hah, yeah it’s Rolo. Agree Mason’s PT is a big concern

  14. Dante Green says:

    Sup JB! What’s goin on!

Not sure how I was able to win in my last match, 8-1, against the no.1 team in my league considering KD missed 2 games, curry 1 and parsons 1 as well(that weekly lock system sucks bigtime). And also having to deal with useless and inconsistent as fcku players like faried and hibbert whom I’m thiisss close to dropping. And now I’m crippled with injured players, players whom I wanted so badly to move but obviously can’t cos of their condition, SMH. Meanwhile Dirk I believe hasn’t made a trey for 4 games now, he’s not hurting my team neither is he helping, but I still want his ass traded. It’s nice to see Batum play well.

When all my injured players are back I’m gonna be making a few moves!

    1) offer dirk/parsons+mcw+hibbert for favors+rubio(helps improve fg, stls and blks with elite stls) rubio+favors owner said he doesnt care much bout assts, but wants a scorer on his team
    2) offer bledsoe for draymond(just looking to unload bledsoe for anybody of equal value and IF the first offer gets accepted. just avoiding that 3/3/3 sched, or can u name a few I could trade him for?)
    3) an owner inquired about faried and parsons, said when parsons gets back to being healthy he’s willing to trade his Horfy for those two

    H2h 9cat weekly

Pg curry rjax bledsoe colly mcw
    Sg wiggins
    Sf kd batum parsons
    Pf faried dirk
    C whiteside hibbert

@Dante Green: Hah well, a big win is a big win! Don’t fight it!

1 – Yeah love that deal. Rubio will be a beast ROS imo.
2 – Like that one too. Maybe Lawson in a nice playoff sched can come at a discount? But a big might help, love Gorgui with MIN injuries. Maybe for Gorgui+something?
3 – Whoa, yeah gimme Horf!

thoughts on Bogut? Should I roll with him or Mozgov for tomorrow? Blocks are important

Just traded for Danny Green need those out of position blocks good source of them and 3’s for ROS?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@dom: Eh, I’d prob Mozzy. Yeah I like Green, blocks obviously will be inconsistent given he’s a G, but def like the 3s.

I need help with 3’s. I have Smart. Should I pick up Caldwell-Pope or Foye?

  17. Lasandro says:

So Kieff had a phenomenal game the first day without dragic, with knight sitting. Then knight comes in and kieffer doesn’t quite play well. Covington on the other hand has just become the 1A or B option on a craptacular team. What ya think? Kieff or cov in a 14 cat roto ROS? I kinda feel like ll Kieff would have on Rob is a slightly better fg%

Meanwhile, is dragic worth trading for with my Rubio or Ty? What is your projected ROS statline for Dragon?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Lasandro: Yup still tough but still going Kieff.

Nah I would rather Rubio and Ty over Dragic. Something like 15/4/6 for Dragic

JB, I was at the Blazer/Grizz game last night, I gotta tell you, it looked like Stotts had no idea how to use Afflalo’s actual skill set. Plus, he had Tony Allen dogging him all night. I agree though, until he finds his actual role pretty much no fantasy relevance there.

The Grizz cannot be fun to play in a 7 game series, they will definitely beat you up and wear you down.

    Great write up my man!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@OldMilwaukeePounders: Interesting, yeah I didn’t watch any of that. I woulda if I had known to try and spot ya! But yeah, not interesting in him, especially with Aldridge’s shots not even in the mix yest.

      Thanks for reading man!

      • OldMilwaukeePounders says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Yeah brotha, they looked lost down the stretch without LA in the game. Afflalo is a poor man’s Matthews from the looks of it, Stotts trotted out a lot of weird lineup combos. I am guessing he will get a feel for how to best use Afflalo.

Big positive was that Batum looked great. That return for owners willing to stick with him seems to be on the way.

        • OldMilwaukeePounders says:
          (link)

@OldMilwaukeePounders: Oh, yeah and I was there repping my Sheed jersey. I’ll try to get a Razzball shout out sign for the next game I hit up!

            JB Gilpin says:
            (link)

@OldMilwaukeePounders: Yeah Afflalo is definitely a better real life than fantasy asset, probably for the rest of his career. Hah, Sheeeeeed! Last UNC game I went to a couple years ago, Sheed was there. Awesome! Yeah man hope to see a Razz sign def let me know beforehand and I’ll watch the whole game and spot ya!

    12 Team 9 Cat H2H

    Got Offered Ellis for Knight/Faried.

I was honestly really considering just dropping faried cause hes been hurting more than helping, my boards are really really good so i feel like i don’t need him. That being said, is it still worth giving knight/faried for ellis?

    PG Westbrook, Rubio, Knight
    SG Dragic, Ellington
    SF Kawhi, Covington, T Jones
    PF Ibaka, Dirk, Faried
    C Millsap, Gobert, Nurkic

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

@Mike: Hmmm. Ya know, the boost in scoring seems like it’ll help, I think I would take Ellis

    • JB Gilpin

@AC: That’s kinda impossible to answer, either one I’d be happy getting if it addressed my needs

  21. Connor says:

What up JB! Great write up. Prefer Noel or Thad ROS? I love the rookie development but feel Thad is probably safer.

10 team 10 cat league with FT made
PG- Lillard, Rubio, RJax, Collison, Canaan
    SG- Harden, Danny Green
    SF- Kawhi
    PF- Thad
C- Drummond, Whiteside, Horford, Al Jefferson

Other waiver options include MCW (on waivers, probably can’t get), Wilson Chandler, Batum, Beal.
    Thanks man!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Connor: Whewwwww, sophie’s choice! I’ve been supporting Noel all year and good to see he’s banking on it finally. I think you’re right on it, rookie vs. safety. I’ll lean Thad but just barely.

You’ve got great PG depth so I think I’d like Canaan go for MCW if it happens or Batum. ANy time!

  22. DL says:

Hey guys I could really use some advice on my team.
Its a 12 team 10 cat league with 2 util spots.

    Jordan Clarkson
    James Harden Hou
    Tobias Harris
    Donatas Motiejunas
    Hassan Whiteside
    Isaiah Canaan
    Kelly Olynyk
    Al Horford Atl
    Kyrie Irving
    Al Jefferson
    Andrew Bogut
    Langston Galloway

Ive been dying for assists ever since I lost Jrue to injury. Would Kyrie and Whiteside for Curry be too much? Thanks again.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@DL: Nope not at all! It’s a great time to strike too with Curry off a DNP. Def would shoot that offer out. Any time!

  23. rhirano says:
    (link)

Thinking about dropping Ryan Anderson. Nurkic, Len, Tyler Zeller, Mayo, Stuckey, and Clarkson are available and I could use help in 3s, assists, and the defensive categories. Whos the best pickup there?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@rhirano: Yeah with those options, he’s a goner. Nurk is my clear choice all things equal. But looks like a guard is more of a need. I’ll lean Mayo.

  24. Clos says:

Jb what’s going on? In first.. Already clinched a playoff spot now I’m thinking about the playoff sched.. I love Knight just as much as you but his playoff schedule socks now.. With IT2 being traded to Boston he’s got 12 games in the playoffs.. Bledsoe, keiff, Len.. Green might step it up at any point and tucker is playing well too.. I feel like Isaiah will shine in Boston.. What do you think?

    Paul
    Knight
    Colly
    Jack
    Demar
    Covington
    Draymond green
    Kieff
    Favors
    Marc gasol
    Cousins
    Aldridge
    Jordan hill

That’s my team right now.. You think I should send that trade?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Clos: Yup it’s def no great there in PHO. Well Knight starting tonight is a great step forward. I think I’m still narrowly leaning Knight over IT2. But, if you could do a Knight+Kieff for IT2+something and try to sneak out the bad playoffs sched, it could work!

My Vucevic and Mo Will for his Rondo and LMA? I wanted to flip Vuc for Aldridge for his playoff schedule

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@spo: Yeah, huge playoff boost trade there. I think you give up a ton more value looking at the next 3-4 weeks, but if you’re a lock for the playoffs I like it

Great job on the article again guys ! Have a quick question here. In a 12 team weekly H2H 9 cat no to’s in my last utility spot would you start galloway with 3 starts or MCW 4 starts but already suiting up but sitting out so a Maybe 3 starts and how many minutes will he really get this week ? Leaning galloway…. Thx for your help….

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@tom: thanks for reading man! Yup I’m going Galloway too. too risky for MCW who may only play 1-2 games and be on a minutes restriction at that. Any time!

  29. Matt says:

I have spencer hawes in a category league. I only have him because i have blake griffin. League is pretty deep not alot of free agents. I also have ty lawson and gallinari. My question to you is should i keep hawes, or pick up randy foye in case gallinari or lawson get hurt, or should i roll the dice on jason richardson?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Matt: Richardson is a distant 3rd for me. Already a DNP tonight and will probably be on a minutes limit all year. Leaning holding onto Hawes even though I know he hasn’t been that good

      • Matt says:

  30. Zar says:

    Hey JB,

I just got offered a trade, KD and Augustin for Wall and M. Gasol. I’m not gonna take, unless you think that KD is worth it. I can’t imagine giving up a 1st round value (gasol) and my first round pick (Wall) for someone who has been injured on and off all season, even if it is KD.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Zar: Yeah I am holding off too, I think if the throw in was someone besides Augustin it might make it close.

      • Zar says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: I took a look at their roster to see if I saw a counter, but I didn’t like any of them 🙁 Maybe Lowry or Middleton?

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Zar: Yeah not quite Middleton, KD+Lowry for Wall Gasol? I’d prob have to do that but he might not

Long time reader, first time poster. I’m a lock for the playoffs. 9cat h2h, 10team. I’m intrigued by the upside of Len and nurk. Should I stop anyone to make the move? My team is
    rose wall Conley
    rjax Leonard, batuum
    Covington, Middleton,
ibaka, al Jefferson, jval, Noah, love.

everyone is eligible to be kept besides Covington, Middleton, and rjax
    Already appreciate the insight.
    cheers
