Every year, there’s a handful of guys that are waiver wire whores and bounce back and forth between owners for spot starts.  It’s like the freshman co-ed dorm; you feel entitled if you’re the first to have one of em riding your roster, but then you feel dirty if you claimed them next.  Enter Jarrett Jack, who before settling into his probable NBA 6th Man Award role, got run off the bench, then a few starts, but never those solidified minutes.  A shoulder injury a few weeks back had the last round of owners jumping ship, but since returning he’s finally ready for a long term commitment. So what if he gave rival owners a little handsy here and rub-a-dub there?  Time for everyone to lock him up Elizabeth Smart style.

Jarrett Jack – Always looks like he’s sad to me.  “Wahhhhhh, I’m Jarrett Jack” is one of my winning catch phrases.  Yell at me if it gets annoying.  Another ridiculous line of 23 Pts 5 Rebs 8 Asts and 5 3PM.  He also led the Warriors with 19 shots in a 1-point win.  Yeah, he’s gonna be a beast down the stretch.

Dirk Nowitzki – Season highs in points (30), rebounds (13) and 3PM (4).  Good to see the future hall-of-famer bring the fantasy goods.  He’s probably not gonna be the jaw-dropping Diggler he showed Sunday, so if you can sell-high, I wouldn’t be afraid to drop his load on a rival owner.

Ricky Rubio – “The Spanish Quilt” had quite the yarn against the Warriors yesterday, with a stat line making the cholos proud with 16 Pts 8 Rebs 11 Asts and 6 Stls.  Efficiency hasn’t quite been there shooting from the floor (3-10 Sunday), but with double-digit assist in six of the last nine, he’s been QBing the Wolves like a jefe.

Derrick Williams – Been yo-yo-ing in and out of favor, but is getting some solid run of late and continues to produce.  In 38 mins yesterday, Williams had a very efficient 9/15 FG 5/5 FT 23 Pts 12 Rebs and 1 Blk.  This marks 36+ minutes in three of the last four games, with an average of 18.3 Pts 10.3 Rbs 1 3pm 0.5 Blk with very respectable FG and FT percentages in those four.  Getting close to a most own if you have some scrubs towards the end of your roster.

Dwyane Wade – Was hotter than peeing after a Thai-hooker excursion, going 14-18 from the field for 33 Pts Saturday night, then still solid Sunday night going 11-22 for 24 Pts.  The Heat dismantled the terrible 76ers and gave Wade the rock against their poor defense.

LeBron James – Was 10/9/11 with about 4:00 minutes left in the third in the same game against Philly.  This was an absolute snore-fest; kinda like watching the Oscars without mind-altering drugs.  Take a hallucinogen during some of those performances and all the sudden it’s like you’re there and wondering how the hell Seth MacFarlane got the gig and throwing back the airplane bottle of whiskey he just threw at you…

Carlos Delfino – Everyone went gaga for the boring-est player on the Rockets when he put up 22 with 6 threes on Friday, then only gets 12 Pts all on 4 3PM (4-14 FG, 4-12 3PFG) in 35 minutes Saturday Night.  As I said in my Buy/Sell, Thomas Robinson is gonna get tons of minutes and do a lot more than stand in a spot behind the three point line with a pail for his excrement.

Jeffery Taylor – An out-of-nowhere 33 minutes Saturday night with a rainbow line of 18 Pts 3 Rebs 2 Asts 2 Stls and 2 Blks.  He can hit threes too.  If he gets 30 minutes a night, he might be worth an add in deeper leagues as the Bobcats ownership cries to each other with the lack of consistent play from their team/turning 50.

Jeff Teague – Another solid line from Atlanta’s young PG with 23 Pts 2 Rebs 9 Asts and 2 Stls.  Nothing really out of the ordinary, but just want to mention early in my tenure that I’m gonna be all over this guy for next year.  With Josh Smith going to be elsewhere, he’s going to be even more a scorer and play some sick two man game with Al Horford.

J.J. Redick – 35 Mins 4-9 FG (1-3 3PM) 16 Pts 3 Rebs and 7 Asts in his debut for the Bucks.  Good to know his stats didn’t get some major shrinkage going from Orlando to Milwaukee.

Gordon Hayward – Went to the line 14 times and hit 13 of em Saturday night at the Clippers.  Good to see someone take it to hole hard in L.A.  I’m trademarking that for a movie title.

C.J. Miles – 5 3’s last night off the bench, quietly putting up 9 in his past two games.  If you need a spot start 3-point specialist, he might be a solid choice.

Isaiah Thomas – Followed up dropping 30 on Friday night with a line of 16 Pts 3 Rebs 5 Asts and 2 Stls at New Orleans.  Not a huge line, but worth mentioning because he’ll be a sleeper next year for me, pending anything drastic involving the Kings relocation.  If they relocate to rural Mississippi, yea they might draw better attendance, but the roster could see an overhaul…

John Salmons – Had a career-high 6 3’s last night and is looking absolutely sassy about it.

Jerryd Bayless – After a huge run in late January and early this month, put up an ultimate Schmohawk performance of 0-6 FG 0 Pts and 1 Ast (no other stats!) in 15 minutes last night.  To think you were once on my team!

Brooklyn Nets – 72 points last night? Sheesh.  4 Rebounds in 26 minutes Brook Lopez? Had only one rebound in 23 minutes a few games ago.  When your team can’t score, if you can’t rebound either it’s trouble.  If the Nets do anything in the playoffs besides keel over in a sweep, I’d be shocked.

Chicago Bulls – 72 points last night? Sheesh.  Oh wait, I did this spiel before.  Nate Robinson goes 2-14 from the floor.  The Bulls need Rose more than fantasy owners.

Jrue Holiday – Put up 30 last night for the first time in a month.  He’s still playing well, just for an unbelievably disappointing team.  Why does Evan Turner get double-digit shots a night?  He hasn’t shot 50% from the field since January 28th!  I think Holiday will get back to that 20+ points every night range after a little scoring lull in the past 10.

Jeff Green – Follows up his redonkulous line on Friday night with 11 Pts 4 Rebs 0 Asts 1 Stl 0 Blks.  As Will Smith would say, “Welcome to Earth!”  Still played 31 minutes and has 30+ minutes in the past 5.  Worth the add and still ahead of someone like Derrick Williams, but he’s not going to be that rainbow line guy most nights.

Next Games: I’m off from highlight making tomorrow, but have the Cavs @ Bulls Tuesday.  I will be live tweeting (@jbgilpin) while making the Yahoo player highlights.  Let’s hope the Bulls can muster more than 72!
