Yes, you’ve read that right, DraftKings – Razzball’s daily fantasy site of choice – has thrown us our first RAZZBALL EXCLUSIVE NBA CONTEST for tonight, which you can only join through that All Caps link. Yes, it may look like I’m yelling at you, but I’m pumped! You can’t enter through the main DraftKings lobby or from a URL scribbled down on a napkin by your lunch waitress, only that link right there will guide you into our VIP area.
And by exclusive, we mean exclusive. Only 20 spots will be open to readers, and well, it’s only 18 since Slim and I are in there. So you’ve gotta sign up quick, no dilly dallying! The entry fee is $10, with first place taking home a hunnet! $100 for first, $50 for second, and $25 for 3rd and 4th place. Using my Mickey Math (yes I had one of those as a kid!), you can add those up to get the full $200, so DraftKings is not taking any profit. Just giving us our own contest for our own bragging rights.
If you’re new to daily fantasy, it’s an exponentially growing segment of the fantasy industry, and unlike failing the Marshmallow Test, you can get immediate gratification without feeling bad about it. No more waiting the whole season before knowing if indeed JB BEATS SLIM!!!!, but I’ll know right away if I spanked his beard right off him. I’m “jbrazzball” for your tracking enjoyment through the contest, and let’s get it filled up fast so maybe they’ll give widen us up for a few more spots!

Here’s five of my picks for tonight in a big slate of games, so choose wisely and may the best daily fantasy-ite win:
PG – Aaron Brooks – $3,100 – As Slim and I mentioned on the Podcast Wednesday, we both love Brooks as a value play to be able to stack your squad with stars. The Bulls go to Philadelphia tonight, and even if they all partake in a cheesesteak challenge 30 minutes before tip, they should obliterate the Sixers. All the more reason to not expect Derrick Rose to play, and the past two games without Rose, Brooks has scored 26 and 33.5 points.
SG – Kentavious Caldwell-Pope – $3,900 – We all know JB’s infatuation with KCP! And well, off a great shooting game, I don’t expect him to be that paltry in his ancillary stats like he was on Wednesday. Plus he’ll be against a mix of milkduds and mayo, which sounds about as bad as the Bucks actually playing Jared Dudley and O.J. Mayo for most of the SG minutes. Now I can spend money like I’m Pacman Jones at a strip club!
SF – Rudy Gay – $7,700 – Riding the hot hand! 3 of his past 4 have been unreal, scoring 55, 45.25, 26, then 39.75. You’d imagine going at Phoenix should be a pretty fast paced game, and the Kings are off a 131-point blowout win. Things are feeling good in my SAC!
PF – Greg Monroe – $7,000 – The price is actually incredibly affordable, and I got so excited when I saw this value I wet myself. Am I running Monroe-bashing into the ground? Maybe! But I’m definitely running him out there in DK, where his huge 23/18 game against the Knicks scored a whopping 53 points for daily players. He’s playing with a chip on his shoulder because pricks like me keep making fun of him, but hey, he sorta deserves it due to the situation! I’ll reap the rewards and consider it “further motivation”.
C – DeMarcus Cousins – $9,900 – Big spending alert! Saving in my backcourt means I’m riding my cousin, a felony in 48 states. I’m not Howard Wolowitz! In 22 minutes against the Nuggets, Cuz went 30/11 and scored 49.25 points. Imagine if that wasn’t a blowout! My big ticket to that hunnet payday.
