….Making all the threes! What, where did you think I was going with that? But yeah, reaching the 48-hour mark until the NBA trade deadline hits, many things are happening both on the court and off it. With the trade of Kyrie Irving to the Mavericks complete (don’t let it near the Jewish space lasers!) marking the end (or beginning?) of the Net’s introspective journey on finding out what happens when you let two idiots have their way with the franchise (three if you count Joe Tsai), one has to wonder what could top that? Will KD be next? (Doubtful, but of course I would never rule out a return to the Warriors just for the lols.)

Speaking of which (awkward segue), it wasn’t just Klay Thompson putting up 42 points on 12 threes against the Thunder, but the Warriors as a whole put up 141 points with just three free throws, which seems crazy to me. Then you have the other scoring outburst, with Cam Thomas achieving a career-high 47 points in a tough loss against the Clippers. If you’re keeping track, this was 250 points in his first 34 games (7.4 PPG) and 91 points since Kyrie was traded (2 games, 45.5 PPG). Coincidence? Probably not, unless Cam’s nickname is “Torah Thomas”, but if I can’t get my lols from Durant potentially going back to being a bus-rider, I can certainly get them from Thomas passing Ben Simmons on the Nets all-time scoring list. 😂

Here’s what else I saw during yesterday’s games:

Isaiah Stewart – 31 MIN, 4-12 FG, 0-7 3PT, 2-4 FT, 12 REB, 2 TO, -25, 10 PTS. Wemby is already researching the Model-T and the creation of the assembly line to prepare.

Donovan Mitchell – 28 MIN, 8-16 FG, 3-9 3PT, 2-2 FT, 6 REB, 5 AST, 1 STL, 3 TO, +25, 21 PTS. Mitchell’s speed and burst has definitely been a lot slower, still nursing the going injury most likely so not too worried.

Deni Avdija – 30 MIN, 3-10 FG, 1-4 3PT, 5-5 FT, 4 REB, 3 AST, 2 STL, 3 TO, -23, 12 PTS. This is Deni’s usual output, but still liking what I’ve seen since Rui went to the Lakers. The minutes will be there, so I’m interested to see how he progresses and adjusts.

Cam Thomas – 39 MIN, 15-29 FG, 7-11 3PT, 10-11 FT, 4 REB, 3 AST, 4 TO, +3, 47 PTS. Kyrie walked so Cam could fly…

Ivica Zubac – 30 MIN, 6-9 FG, 7-10 FT, 12 REB, 2 AST, 3 STL, 1 BLK, +27, 19 PTS. I know the Clippers were attached to the Kyrie rumors and I think it was probably going to a be a fit since the point guard play has been pretty subpar. I would actually say they need another center slightly more. Opposing teams are getting whatever they want in the paint when Zubac is out of the game and last night’s +27 is indicative of that.

Joe Harris – 28 MIN, 2-2 FG, 2-2 3PT, 6 REB, 3 AST, 1 STL, 1 TO, +4, 6 PTS. Just a reminder that Durant went to Game 7 against the Champs with Harris as his second-best player. That is absolutely insane.

Blake Wesley – 22 MIN, 2-6 FG, 1-1 3PT, 5 REB, 1 AST, 1 STL, 2 TO, -20, 5 PTS. Tank you very much

Keegan Murray – 33 MIN, 11-17 FG, 8-12 3PT, 6 REB, 1 AST, 2 STL, 1 TO, +11, 30 PTS. Threegan Murray? Threegan Flurry? Keegan “Better Than” Curry? LIGHT THE BEAM.

Alperen Sengun – 36 MIN, 4-10 FG, 1-2 3PT, 6-6 FT, 7 REB, 7 AST, 2 TO, -9, 15 PTS. “When does the pain end?” -Al.

Josh Green – 37 MIN, 10-17 FG, 3-6 3PT, 6-6 FT, 6 REB, 2 AST, +39, 29 PTS. Green at +39. That’s all I have to say and the absolute limit of my analytical talents.

Klay Thompson – 33 MIN, 15-22 FG, 12-16 3PT, 3 REB, 1 AST, 4 TO, +10, 42 PTS. Why the Three-Point Line Ruined the Sport of Basketball – A Dissertation by a Miserable Thunder Fan

Jordan Poole – 29 MIN, 8-14 FG, 5-10 3PT, 4 REB, 12 AST, 4 TO, +28, 21 PTS. Something makes me think the Warriors are going to be okay. (Hint, it involves the return of Steph.)

Jrue Holiday – 32 MIN, 9-20 FG, 2-8 3PT, 4 REB, 8 AST, 1 TO, +4, 20 PTS. Not really sold on the ASG selection, but the Bucks are 8-0 and looking scary since Giannis and Middleton are back. These three guys can probably take on any other three out there right now.
