A real American hero! Are you old enough to remember the wisdom doled out by various G.I. Joe soldiers, such as Skidmark, Scarlett, Airtight and Ripcord at the end of the afternoon cartoon? When you were repeatedly reminded that knowing is half the battle? I have not forgotten these pearls of wisdom from the brave warriors who stood up to resist the nefarious C.O.B.R.A., but as they applied to regular life. What would Duke tell you about your fantasy team? He would tell you not to take candy from strangers, and to be aware of your league’s trade deadline! Yo Joe!

You need to be aware of when you can last make a deal, as the waiver wire is probably less likely to bear significant players. If you still can, check out if these cats would be Joe worthy:

BUY:

Norris Cole PG, SG

Norris isn’t going to take you to the promised land, but he is only 30% owned, and he is getting 30+ minutes in 6 of his last 7 games due to Tyreke Evans being down, and is putting up decent stats. I know I just said that there isn’t too much gold to mine on the waiver, but consider this the exception rather than the rule, and nab him if you need to stream a guy. And in these contradictory situations, I recall what my Grandma used to say to me: “you were adopted”. Which would have been fine, but it wasn’t true. So I choose to interpret this as: listen to advice given, but don’t take it as gospel. Yeah. That’s what she was trying to teach me.

Myles Turner PF, C

Turner is a cheaper than the blocking leaders if you need help with blocks, boards, points, and percentages. His minutes, while not exactly consistent, have been trending upwards.  Turner is a poor man’s Rudy Gorbert, who in turn is a poor man’s Hassan Whiteside. So that makes him a poor, poor man’s Hassan? Do with that what you will.

Al Horford PF, C

Jacking big treys to my dismay! Big Al has in the past 3 years increased his 3pt attempts, and he is now averaging almost 3 attempts per game. He will be one of the hottest free agents this off season in real life, and in fantasy, he is the shiznit! I know he had a monster game last go, so the buy lower-ish window of average play the last 2 weeks is probably closed, but in fantasy, like real life, anyone who adds this big cat to their squad for the stretch run will be very happy they did. So kick some tires, fella!

SELL:

Marvin Williams SF, PF

Big Marv is eatin, he most certainly ain’t starvin! Williams has played out of his head over the last few weeks, and he’s having a career year overall. He has been a delightful surprise from deep, adding a great dimension to his game. While there is no real reason to suspect that this caliber of play will end, you probably drafted him in the later rounds, and he is playing like a top 40 guy right now, so the selling point will never be higher.

Markieff Morris PF, C

Morris is straight murder these past few weeks, playing under coach Watson. This is fantastic for the Suns, as he is playing up his trade value, but if you own ‘Kieff, he may be on the move, and his touches, and by extension production, will take a serious hit. Try to sell this potential nose-dive threat and let someone else sweat the trade rumours.

Ok kids, remember to check your trade deadline date, because knowing is half the battle! Until then, may all your shots be nothing but net.

Holla!
