With John Wall‘s return, many out there in the fantasy world were worried that Bradley Beal would lose time. Well, come January, with Wall back on the Court, Beal is seeing both his highest minutes per game and his greatest points per game (11.2 in November, 13.4 in December, 18.8 in January). In fact, last time out, Wall and Beal played together. I’ve maintained that Beal losing time was a foolish fear, and if anyone still has that concern, now is the time to help them out by taking Beal off their hands. Here are some other guys for your Buy/Sell consideration:
Buy
Mario Chalmers – Over the past week, he is averaging 4 threes per game which is translating into 16 points per game. His production has improved tremendously over the past few weeks, and he’s worth riding while his wave is highest.
Randy Foye – Copy and paste the first sentence in the Chalmers blurb, then change the 16 to a 17.
Elton Brand – He just crept over 50% ownership, so act fast if you want a guy producing 11 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks every night.
Tiago Splitter – In addition to averaging 11/6/2 over the past 7 days, he’s also shooting at a crazy .700 clip. He’s the starting Center, so his stats should continue to reflect his increased role.
Al-Farouq Aminu – Averaging a double double per night over the past week, maintaining double digit rebound average for the month of January, that is how you become an Al-Fa dog.
Sell
Dwight Howard – He is averaging 18/13 with nearly 3 blocks per night for the season. So why sell? 1) That FT%. You knew about it when you drafted him, but now that he’s shown he is still an outstanding Center, if you can upgrade another position by moving him while also salvaging your FT%, it’s a win. 2) The Lakers. The situation in L.A. seems contentious and confusing. Rumors already say D’Antoni is losing the team, Kobe isn’t getting along with anyone, and there’s a very good chance the Lakers won’t even be in contention by the time your playoffs roll around. Don’t sell him for a child’s handmade ash tray. Dwight demands very good value in return. If you can find that, then make it happen.
Ricky Rubio – Last night, he had 4 points on 2 of 9 shooting, plus 3 rebounds, 6 assists, and a steal. We all know what he did last season, but despite increased minutes over the past five games, he is still shooting miserably (.200), averaging 3.4 points, 1.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists. He’s now been back for a month. Many fantasy owners would still love to have him based on his assists potential, and he may very well come around in February. Do you need to wait for that to happen? Trade him and get a piece you can use now. Don’t sell him for a loaf of moldy bread, but use him to upgrade.
