I hope everyone had a good Christmas and made some money on DraftKings.  The Christmas Day article did great and I hope you all enjoyed it.   I was able to score 287 points on Christmas, winning all my 50/50’s and was able to make some GPP money too.  We have a 9 game slate for ya on Saturday.  So how about we get you guys on the road to winning some money over at DraftKings.

Point Guards

Stephen Curry ($10,600) is in a great spot facing a Timberwolves team that is 29th in the league in DEF.  There is some blowout risk in this game with the line at -17 but the O/U is at 216.

John Wall ($10,300) is at home against Boston where he seems to play better.  Back on December 7th and 8th he torched Boston for 58.5 and 63.75 Draft Kings points.  Rock solid foundation for your cash games.

Derrick Rose ($6,900) has been playing really well as of late. He’s getting around 30 minutes a game the last 4 games and averaging about a point a minute.  If you’re not spending up at PG he’s a nice option under 7k.

If you’re looking to punt then Tony Wroten ($4,300) seems a little underpriced.  People have forgotten him since MCW has been back and playing well.  Wroten is seeing around 30 minutes a game and going up against a Utah team that is 28th in DEF.

Also consider Kemba Walker ($8,500).

Shooting Guard

Shooting guard is not a position I like too much Saturday night.   Jimmy Butler ($8,000) sticks out to me.  He just keeps getting is done in every area.  Playing at home against New Orleans is 27th in DEF.  Bulls had the day off on Friday and the Pelicans are on a second end of a B2B.

Victor Oladipo ($5,900) isn’t a bad option at a position that doesn’t offer much. I would prefer him playing the point and a faster paced game.

I like Tyreke Evans ($7,500) if Mike Dunleavey is guarding him.  I don’t like him if Jimmy Butler is defending him.

Small Forwards

If Boogie Cousins is out again the fire up Rudy Gay ($8,600).  His usage rate goes way up with Cousins out of the line up.

Gordon Hayward ($8,100) has the best match up playing against a 76ers team that is last in the league at defending SF’s.

Shabazz Muhammad ($6,300) is the main beneficiary of the Corey Brewer trade.  He hasn’t been under 32 DraftKings points the last 5 games.

There is some nice value at SF at 5k and under.  DeMarre Carroll ($5,000) at Milwaukee, C.J. Miles ($4,400) at Brooklyn, and Jared Dudley ($3,700) vs. Atlanta.

Power Forwards

Anthony Davis ($11,600) is coming back home for the first time in a Pelicans uniform.

Paul Millsap ($8,200) is facing the same Milwaukee team that he had 22 points and 11 boards against on Friday night.

David West ($6,200) a underpriced relative to his production.  The Nets don’t defend the PF position well either.

Also consider Robert Covington ($5,800) at Utah.

Centers

Boogie Cousins ($10,900) was out Friday with the stomach flu.  If he is playing then you should probably play him as well.  The Knicks have no one to slow him down.

Who on the Miami Heat is going to slow Marc Gasol ($9,300) down?  Nobody!  That’s why he makes for a great cash game play.

I’m sure everyone is pissed at Kyle O’Quinn ($5,500) because he only played 16 minutes, 0 points, 0 boards and had 4 fouls against the Cavs on Friday.  Let’s not hope for a repeat performance because he will be under owned after that train wreck.

Get over to DraftKings and get in on some NBA action.  They have games at all different price points.

Don’t forget to check twitter for any late scratches and player news.  As always you can catch me on twitter @realdaddybigs or leave a comment below. Good luck this weekend in your games.

    Hey Dan.

Sullinger got dropped in my 12team 9cat league. Should I use my first waiver priority to pick him up? Or wait for him to clear waivers? Or stay put? Also it would be great if you could suggest who I best drop if ever. Here is my roster.

    PG – Teague, Knight, Rondo
    SG – Butler, McDaniels
    SF – Durant, Covington
PF – Favors, Mk Morris, Faried
    C – Bosh, Horford, Olynyk

    thanks man

Thanks man. I really appreciate this website as you guys try to address as many questions as you can. I think you guys are the best at that and it’s immensely helpful

@Matlock: He’s just OK. These two teams played twice on Dec 7th and 8th. He didn’t do much in both games.

@danb: thx for the reply..I’m with ya on Burke;just gotta make sure he suits and starts

@danb: just a heads up that cj miles is doubtful tonight

In a 10 team h2h league, would you say Jennings is a must own now that JSmith is gone?

    • danb

      danb says:
      (link)

@Sean John: Josh Smith leaving doesn’t affect Brandon Jennings value

      • Sean John says:
        (link)

        @danb:

Not sure I agree. The pistons played through Josh Smith a lot – he averaged 5.3 dimes and took 15+ FGA a game. Monroe was already averaging 14 and 8 so I’m guessing that goes back to his 16 and 9 numbers before Josh Smith joined the pistons, but Jennings should be handling the ball a lot more with the first unit as KCP and Singler/Jerebko aren’t playmakers.

Hey man , what’s good?! How do you feel about my Dirk, THarris, and GEorge Hill for his Hayward, Dieng, and Deng? I’m really thinking about the playoff schedule and defense stats. What if it I give the three and only net Hayward and Dieng? Then pick up someone like KMart off waivers when he’s back? thanks and happy new year!

    • danb

      danb says:

@danb: @miles proudfoot.: It’s too early to look at the playoff schedule right now. I don’t like that trade for you

Melo for Bosh or for Love, straight up. Realistic if I own Melo? Advisable?

    • danb

      danb says:

@Joe: All depends if you need a big man or not

      • Joe says:
        (link)

        @danb:

Marc Gasol, Noel, and D.West are my traditional bigs, so i’m venturing a yes. Mostly, I’m concerned about whether because he’s hurt (knee) or sulking (triangle, losing record), Melo may get shut down early.

        • danb

          danb says:
          (link)

@Joe: Yeah I’m fine with getting rid if Melo

Thoughts on dropping Larry Sanders for Alex Len in a 12-teamer? Thanks!

  10. John says:

I just traded Duncan for Favours, 9 cat, h2h – do you think this was a good deal??

    • danb

      danb says:
      (link)

@John: Think you should ask before us before you make a trade. Anytime I make a trade I want the best player being traded. Duncan is by far the better player of the two

  11. Martin says:
    (link)

Could you please rank KCP, Stuckey and Shumpert for te rest of the season? I am in 16 team league (punt FG and TO) and wonder who is the first option to drop when hot free agent shows up.

    • danb

      danb says:

@Martin: Shumpert right now would be the 1st to go

  12. Pavel says:

Got an offer on the table just sent to me (this is a Dynasty league btw).

    I give:
    Aldridge/Wroten

    I get:
    Rose/Bosh

      Dan B says:

      @Pavel: @Pavel: don’t make that deal

      • Pavel says:

@Dan B: why not? what’s wrong with it?

        • danb

          danb says:
          (link)

          @Pavel: I would want Aldridge. I don’t trust D Rose either

          • Pavel says:
            (link)

@danb: even if we’re considering long term. Since this is a dynasty league.

            • danb

              danb says:
              (link)

@Pavel: even more reason not to be a D Rose owner. Let someone else have that headache

  13. Wen says:
    (link)

Hi Danb, a desperate owner fighting for the last playoff spot just dropped Lance Stephenson and Thaddeus Young. Would you drop Robert Covington for either one of them? I really like Robert Covington’s upside, but Young seems to be must own. Thanks for your advice!

    • danb

      danb says:
      (link)

@Wen: I don’t see Thad Young being any better then he already is. Seems like he is just stuck in neutral on a horrible team. If he’s traded to a contender then it might light a fire under his ass.
