Son continues his hot streak and is now in the driver’s seat for the six spot and playoffs berth. There is never a letup in this league. I thought I knew something after having the one seed in a deep dynasty and winning my other league multiple times. Gotta keep improving.

As I perused my morning NBA box scores over coffee and oatmeal as per usual, I happened to notice some things have changed with some teams. This may or may not last, or may or may not affect the majority of fantasy teams. I have no idea. I just notice things and make recommendations.
Please, blog, may I have some more?At this point, PB & G and Kostas would nab the first round byes. If I were a better writer I would have put in the first sentence that there are six playoff teams in here. Kostas killed me 8-1, and Pub G (Remember that game? It was so much better than Fortnite! You could hit people with cars!) had a big win vs. the JokerSmokers (tie last week, loss this week!). Son continued his rise into the playoff contention with another win.
3 vs 6 would be Kostas vs. Son
4 vs. 5 would be PhilOssie vs. Beats by Dray
There is an impeding Vikings-style shield wall level blood bath for the six spot. Son, High Risers, and the Infector are all within two games, and the Oracle is two back of that. Lotta hoops to be played here!

He’s an actual unicorn, but that’s not my main point. I had forgotten Bol Bol was even playing Bol in the league until this season! I’d given up on him, and clearly was wrong to do so.
With the NBA for some reason deciding they want to draft teenagers and make them a part of the league, development has to be viewed differently. Obviously, some kids like Ja Morant come in and are obvious supernovas of basketball talent, but others take years, and even multiple teams to make their mark. Just this year, Wendell Carter Jr. and Lauri Markkanen are infuriating Bulls fans with their breakouts in their mid 20s. I went back to the drafts since 2018 and picked one late developer to keep an eye on, similar to Bol Bol. Who will be the next guys to surprisingly break out?

JokerSmoker cemented his first place standing with a victory over Luigi, who may or may not be AWOL since he hasn’t checked in a week.
PB and G had a weird 3-3-3 tie, what are the odds of that?
Seems like the top teams played the bottom teams, and the results held to societal norms.

Watched a delightful little game between the Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans Pelicans. They are my favorite teams to watch! So many dunks, Ja Morant is great, I’ve been following Brandon Ingram since he was in my area high school, and even with Zion Williamson sitting, this game was teeming with talent.
I won’t bore any of you with a take on Morant (I, at one point, thought RJ Barrett was a better pick than Ja. I, at one point, needed a lot more sleep). What I noticed was there were so many good players on either team that could shower us with fantasy goodness any time someone hits the injured list, health and safety protocols, or is simply tired and needs a night off. I’ll give some stats from last night and my take on each team.

We have some more clearly defined tiers at this point in the Writer’s League. Edge, PB And G, and Kostas are clearly the top 3, followed by seven teams within five games of each other. We all have a chance! Of course, I arbitrarily cut off the five games number there to include myself (why are you all reading this, he’s clearly a narcissist! Wait, quiet down 13 year old daughter. And how do you know such big words?) Even Son, Mr. Hooper, and the Oracle (the last three teams) are only like 6 back.

Welp. Went up against the first place team and predictable things happened. JokerSmoker outclassed the Infector 6-2, but I did manage a glorious tie in the blocks category! I was within ten points in every category. My strategy of well-rounded guys to start, then fill in the gaps has failed.
What do do when your plan fails? Trade! Scottie Barnes, Jayson Tatum, and Anthony Edwards should be able to fetch good big guys. I’m in good shape with rebounds and blocks. I’m finna make some bad offers on paper but try to magnify my strengths and maybe get some Ws. I’m also guessing none of the writers read this site trying to defeat an Infector.
