Grizzlies go to Brooks to Feed

The Memphis Grizzlies were kind of a hot take for all those middle-round fantasy basketball sleepers. After Ja Morant, there was Jonas Valanciunas, and then a bunch of players that were drafted in the end game. Ranked near 200 in the preseason, Dillon Brooks was a fourth-year scoring threat who was weaker in peripheral categories. Nonetheless, he was on the floor nearly 30 minutes per game, and there’s low-key value to that. With Ja Morant out until late January or early February, Dillon Brooks has been feasting as the Grizzlies’ go-to guy. His usage rate is currently 27th best in the league, and he’s put up over 20 points in each of the last two games to go with some solid peripherals. Should you be looking at Brooks to feed your fantasy basketball team?

Donte DiVincenzo (pronounced correctly only if you’re from New Yawk) is quietly the best shooting steals threat in the NBA. Sure, it’s an arcane stat category that I just made up on the spot — kind of like the time I went into a haunted house and proclaimed every table cloth a murder weapon — but it’s a stat that matters for efficiency. When you’re looking for edges in your fantasy teams, an excellent shooting guard who plays [checks notes] shooting guard and also racks up the steals is the kind of B-side player that you feel sexy about while the A-team is off enjoying a masked excursion to the club. 

Let’s take a quick look at DiV, who is a player that is bound to make even the most hardened coder scream in anger when I use that acronym.

All right fam, I sat on this preview long enough. The season is nigh, and it seems that if James Harden won’t be joining the Brooklyn Nets (prays to the God of Editors that I don’t need to rewrite this), and we’re at a position where we can focus on the Nets’ other luminary players — Caris LeVert and Taurean Prince. I kid! We all know I’m a Jarret Allen stan.

How am I supposed to find information on Kyrie Irving? ALEXA! WHAT’S A DURANTULA?
