RazzWired: It’s Me! Mario!

Had to slide that in there, purely for my own enjoyment.  Hopefully, a little nostalgia for a few of you as well.  At any rate, the man of the hour is Mario Chalmers!  No, surprisingly, this isn’t a joke!  Chalmers has gone crazy since being traded to the Grizzlies, with a scoring average of over 18 points a game.  Over the 3 game stretch, he also has 7 treys and 5 steals, while shooting an insane amount of high-percentage freebies.  Do I think this torrid pace will continue? No.  I do think it’s a very good sign for his future though.  The Grizzlies desperately need scoring, and Rio should get the ball a lot when he’s on the floor.  I highly recommend him if you need help in scoring, 3s, and FT%.

RazzWired: The Artist Formerly Known As Ron Artest

Ok, so I’ll admit that I’m really stretching this, just so I can write the name Metta World Peace.  However!  The artist formerly known as Ron Artest is averaging over a 3, steal and a block per game so far.  That’s fantasy gold if you ask me!  On top of that, he’s started when Kobe Bryant misses time, and Kobe is likely to miss a lot of time…  From a basketball standpoint, his shot is looking good, and he actually dropped 4 trey-balls in his last start.  Basically, I’m not telling you to run out and grab World Peace, but I’m not telling you not to either…  Make sense? Good, didn’t think so!

For this weeks article, I’m not going to separate by category, since not a huge amount has changed from the first two weeks.  If you want to see the first couple weeks of recommended pickups, check the links: Here and Here!  Just follow those as the main recommendations based on category, and this will simply be a few guys that have stood out this week! (I’ll get back to the category format next week, there just isn’t enough new in every category to do that this week.)

RazzWired: A Festus For The Rest Of Us

A little over a week has gone by since the beginning of the season, and a lot of rotations still haven’t taken on a definitive shape yet.  The good/bad thing is, a few injuries have already occurred, making room for a new set of players to gain some minutes.  For those of you that enjoy streaming blocks, Festus Ezeli has become a solid play with the injury to Andrew Bogut (concussion).  Bogut injured??? Who woulda thunk it! Bogut will remain a major injury risk the rest of the year, so Ezeli should be rosterable in deeper leagues, and possibly even a blocks deficient 12er or two.

For those of you that didn’t see last week’s edition of RazzWired, here it is.   Most of the guys from last week are still relevant pick-ups, and I’ll do my best not to repeat myself.

RazzWired: Wire These Guys On The Wire???

Gentleman and Gentleman!! (Who knows, maybe we do have a couple ladies out there!)  It’s a glorious day to find some waiver bargains! We had our first full slate of the year last night, and the season is full of promise.   The beautiful thing is, all of the awesome pickups that win championships are still out there for us to find.  My mission this season, is to help you to be the first one to get them.  Unless you happen to be in a league with me…. Then the goal is for you to be the second one to know about them!

Thanks to “A Hill O’ Beans” for the title this week!  I’ll be using a few more suggestions in the coming weeks, so yours still might make it!  For this series, I’m going to primarily stick with guys that are under 50% owned on Yahoo.  If you have questions about much deeper or shallower leagues, feel free to ask them in the comments section.  Basically the range is going to be from the competitive 10 teamer, to about 14 team.  12 team is going to be the primary focus though.

Also, there’s going to be a section at the end of each weekly article to feature a couple trades that are in the comments.  I’ll be happy to give an opinion on any trades you post, and I’ll do so right away, but this is more for the amusement of everyone else!  So possibly one or two solid trades, and I might throw in a rip-off, just so everyone can hate your guts and accuse you of being in a weak league.  We’ll see! But yeah, post those below and we’ll have fun with em!

Ok! It’s time to dive in to the first inaugural edition of the RazzWired series! (Thanks to Newman for that name suggestion!)

Opinions For The Regular Season Waiver Article Needed! …And A Few Preseason Thoughts

Razzup people?! It’s a glorious time of year! Postseason baseball, football in full swing, and best of all, the NBA regular season is about to begin! Less than two weeks! This will probably be my last post before the regular season starts, so pretty exciting stuff! Just a public service announcement to start out, I’ll be writing the weekly waiver wire column that will be released every Thursday afternoon during the regular season. So before that starts, I’d like to get everyone’s input on a few things: First, does anyone have a suggestion for the name of the series? I really want to stay away from the standard “waiver wired” theme that seems to be really prevalent in fantasy circles. It does have to have either wire or waiver somewhere in the title though. So let me know in the comments if you have any ideas!

The second order of business is the format. Is it more helpful to sort waiver pickups by overall value? Or sort them by overall value at their position? Also, I’d like to answer trade question on the article comments, and possibly feature at least a couple interesting trades, from the past weeks comments section, at the end of every article. Would you guys be interested in that?

So let me know what you all think about those questions, and I’m definitely open for input on what you’d like to see!

Wazzup razz nation!  This article is primarily going to cater to the more casual reader, simply because I’m not going to go into any in-depth stat analysis, for this particular post.  Basically, this is going to address some of the pet players we have on this site, and why we adore them.  I’m not going to cover most of the first few rounds with players like Andrew Wiggins and Rudy Gobert, since they have been covered in a fair amount of detail previously.  Without further ado, lets dive in!

With plenty of terrible early projections going on, early drafts are always fun.  This is basically going to be a recap of my first RCL draft of the season, with a little of bit of sleeper info thrown in for good measure.  I really love the team I got in this league, even though I was sniped on a few picks.  Just FYI I’ll be setting up another RCL league in about a week or so – to draft in October – so I hope some more of you guys join me!  By then Yahoo’s rankings should be much closer to the ballpark of reason… At any rate, let’s dive in!

Hey Razzball nation! We’re getting towards the end of the sleeper stream, so I hope you’ve enjoyed so far!  There probably will only be one more sleeper article from me after this one, so look out for that next week.  My first RCL league draft is coming up on Saturday, so I figured I would just help everyone out and post some of the obvious early ranking screw-ups in Yahoo’s NBA projections.  With no prep you can get screwed over by these ranking problems, but with a little knowledge you can abuse their rankings harder than DeAndre Jordan posterizing Brandon Knight!  At any rate, lets dive in!

Basketball season is approaching quickly, as signaled by the start of our Razzball Basketball Commenter Leagues!  The RCL leagues are a ton of fun, so make sure to get in one of those.  I’ll be hosting at least one or two in the near future, so if you join one of those, just think of this as a list of guys you should let me draft!  We’re starting to get into the more interesting sleepers as we work our way deeper into the rankings.  So lets get into it!

It’s time for more sleepers and busts people! I want to make a small clarification before we dive into this though: sleepers at this point in the preseason are subject to a lot of interpretation, since we have no average draft position to base the prediction on. Therefore, take these projections with a grain of salt.  These players are simply likely to improve on last year’s overall stats, and thus, their value should exceed their ADP.  At any rate, here is part two!

Hey Razzball Nation!  Adam Miller here!  I’ll be on board for the rest of the season writing the weekly waiver wire article as well as some other fun stuff.  I’m currently a Junior at USF getting a degree in IT to work towards a career in sports analytics.  Basketball and stats in general have always been a love of mine, so this career seemed like a perfect marriage of the two.  Anyway, this is my first article so I’d love some feedback on what to improve, or what I did well, before the kick-off of the regular season.  Enough about me, lets get into some early round sleepers and busts!
