We saw a Greek tragedy unfolding, or should I say…dragedy, as Goran Dragic was stuck in a fall from grace. Last night saw some redemption as he scored 12 points to pair with 11 assists, plus a steal and a block. His points have kind of become steady around the 10-12 mark, which is not near his November production but at least better than December. This is his first double digit dish game in January, and while he was never that prolific with assists anyway, it is still nice to that level of statistical generosity after 6 games where he only had more than 4 dimes once. Here’s what else happened in the NBA:

Josh Smith – He finished the night with 30 points, 13 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 blocks. I declare him King of Wednesday Night (ignore those 7 TOs).

Stephen Curry – Yesterday, I pimped Curry for daily fantasy leagues; he went for 31 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals, although he took 14 three point attempts and only made 3 (that affects ratios!).

Tony Parker – I also suggested this guy as a possible double double candidate, and he went for 24 big ones with 13 assists, so there ya go. He also threw in 4 rebounds and a steal.

LeBron James – I did not mention him at all, and he had a triple double (31/10/11). Oh well! You know who he is!

Tiago Splitter – Okay, let’s shift off of some of these big names and look at a big name in our comments. T-Spit produced 25 points, 7 rebounds, an assists, 2 steals, and only 1 turnover in 32 minutes.

Darrell Arthur – Despite 20 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal and a block, Arthur has only had more than 11 points once all month. 9 rebounds is his season high, too. So while he says hey, what a wonderful kind of day, where he can learn to shoot and play, and get along with some rebounds, you may want to change the channel.

Emeka Okafor – He’s becoming a slightly better scoring Reggie Evans, this time with 6 points, 17 rebounds, 2 blocks, and an assist and steal each. It is his third game in a row with at least a dozen boards.

Alan Anderson – No one can match Curry’s disaster from the perimeter, but Curry lobbed 12 from downtown and only hit 4, yet still finished with 20 points. He did not have much going on otherwise, producing 1 rebound and 2 assist despite 36 minutes on the floor. Maybe he should have passed. Just a guess.

Kyle Korver – With 21 points (including 5 of 6 from deep), 4 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal, he has officially put together a very decent stretch, and if you don’t look at him, you won’t notice he has the same hair cut as Kenneth Parcel. You may also miss out on some extra stats for your deep league squad.

Kris Humphries – With the Nets as one of the powerhouse teams in the East, Humphries sure took a good season to fall of planet Earth. Last night, despite a reasonable 8 rebounds, he only finished with 2 points and 2 assists in 21 minutes.

Bismack Biyombo – Nobody beats the Bis for rebounds, as he grabbed 10, although apparently Bis can’t shoot, as he went for 2 points, matching his high for the past 3 games. He did have 2 steals and 4 blocks, though, so everyone’s happy again.

Jason Maxiell – Another big man with small points is Maxi, who went for 6 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 2 blocks. My interest in him waxes and wanes like the moon or bad poetry, but he’s been good enough recently to own in deep leagues.

Nate Robinson – Not sure why nobody loves him, everybody hates him, just because he eats worms, but Nate the Great came off the bench for 11 points, 1 rebound, and 7 assists. Surely some of you can find value in that, as this is his 4th straight game with metal horns for points. He is also averaging 4 assists during that stretch, which isn’t great, but it also isn’t nothing. That’s some metaphysics or whatever for you.

Dwight Howard – Set to have his shoulder evaluated today. When I said to try and sell him, I didn’t think he’d go and hurt himself. If he’s going to miss significant time, I wonder what excuse Kobe Bryant will come up with next.
