It’s Wednesday, which means a metric ass ton of NBA games tonight. If you’re involved with daily play sites like our dear friends DraftKings, especially if you’re looking to take advantage of their $5K Clash ($1,000 to the winner, $5,000 worth of payouts guaranteed!), you may be wondering which guys to target for tonight.
I’ve got some big studs and some more affordable pieces of meat to recommend. My #1 recommendation is O.J. Mayo, going up against a Houston defense that has remained in the bottom 5 for points allowed all season. Meanwhile, Mayo is coming out of his slump, ranked 7th overall the past week with generous points, rebounds and assists during that time.
Speaking of the Houston and Dallas game, both teams are defensively lax, and other good guys to target include Elton Brand, who has been performing well off the bench, and Darren Collison, who has tallied numbers that have made him a top point guard in January.
As bad as Houston and Dallas have been with defense, no team is worse than Washington, which is why it would be wise to target DeMarcus Cousins, coming off a dynamite performance on Monday, and Isaiah Thomas, especially with Aaron Brooks questionable with illness. You may even want to tap Tyreke Evans as he takes advantage of being back in the starting lineup.
If you want to roll out with a big stud, Kevin Durant ($10,500) and Russell Westbrook ($9,100) have both been scorching, but they will cost you. However, they are going up against Denver tonight, a team ranked 8th in points allowed this season. Durant has been ranked 1st and Westbrook 12th in production over the past week. That’s a recipe for awesome.
