Spencer Hawes had 20 points, 9 rebounds, an assist, 3 steals and 5 blocks. He is averaging 13/6 over the past 2 weeks. I’m not sure how I feel about that, but his ownership is creeping up to the 50% mark. What does this have to do with Gustavo Ayon? With over 27 minutes as a starter, Ayon went for 4 points on 4 shots, plus 3 boards, 2 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocks. Now everyone that asked if they should pick up Ayon is going to ask if they should drop him and pick up Hawes. I wouldn’t let this game sour you on Ayon, but I might roll with Hawes anyway. Like the gardener asked, how’s that for hedging? Prior to last night, Ayon had 9/12 and 12/13 nights. That’s good. If he has a clunker every now and then, it’s because he was never supposed to be a starter and can’t be expected to produce good stats every night. I mean, the guy is 27, he’s practically deceased. Speaking of practically deceased, Ayon can remember the presidency of the first George Bush! He’s so old, his teeth float in water at night. He’s so old, his liver spots have wrinkles. Yowza! It’s like doing punch up for the new Scary Movie script. Anyway, here’s what else happened last night:

Monta Ellis – 20 points (3 from downtown), 6 rebounds, 7 assists, 6 steals and a block. It’s not like you don’t know that he’s good, but hat tip for 6 takeaways.

Kosta Koufos – Aaaaand…he makes me look like an as (10 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 2 blocks).

Kenneth Faried – Some leagues split rebounds, and the first fantasy basketball league I ever played in had those stats, so I love it when you see a guy obtain 21 points, 15 rebounds (9 offensive!), and 1 assist. More offensive than defensive rebounds? Snazzy.

Damian Lillard – He earned the cumbersome double double and a half with 17 points (3 from downtown), 8 rebounds, 11 assists, 1 steal, and a block. I should just get Lillard alerts sent via text message to my phone…you know, if this was 2006.

Carmelo Anthony – Sat out Wednesday after saying he would play. He hurt his knee on Tuesday. He is considered day to day.

Kyle Korver – He played 40 minutes and missed 2 of 9 from downtown to finish with 8 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal and a block. And he was actually doing pretty well this month.

Zach Randolph – Not a lot of guys with the first name of Randolph anymore. Hmm, go figure. Zach finished with 23 points (including a 3), 9 rebounds, 4 steals.

Andris Biedrins – He grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked a shot while taking none of his own. He had 10 rebounds in his last 3 games. Sometimes he doesn’t even play in games. So, yeah, fun night for him.

Randy Foye – Missed 2 of 8 from beyond the arc, finished with this line: 8/2/1. Kobe Bryant, meanwhile, Hit 40 points (5-9 from deep), and also added 4 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 blocks. After much deliberation, I think it’s safe to say Kobe > Foye.

Eric Gordon – Could play this Saturday. Saturday night’s all right for playing, get a little action in.

Jose Calderon – My secret boyfriend earned 7 points, 4 rebounds, 10 assists, and a 1 steal. He is averaging about 13 assists per game over the past 7 days.

Tyler Zeller – With over 36 minutes starting at Center, managed 6 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and 2 blocks.

Emeka Okafor – 17 points, 10 rebounds, 4 blocks, nuff said. Nuff said because I don’t want to write anything else. Thanks, Stan Lee.

Will Bynum – Close your eyes, ignore the first name, and know that Bynum scored 31 points. Now open them, and let that tear roll down your cheek.

Andre Drummond – He got the dub-dub with 16 points, 12 boards (7 offensive), 2 steals and a block. Again, love those o-boards, which is what they used to call dildos in the 11th century.

Robin Lopez – Thanks to 11 of 12 from the free throw line and 9 of 10 from the floor, Robin finished with 29 points (team high), 3 rebounds, and 3 blocks. No, my that wasn’t a typo; that is 3 rebounds.

Bismack Biyombo – Nobody beats the biz (at middling stats): 7 points, 10 rebounds, 1 block.

Roy Hibbert – Set an NBA record with 23 blocks. Ha, just kidding. The Bulls and Pacers game was postponed due to weather. Is it baseball season already?

Amir Johnson – Throwing a bone to the Canadian fans, Amir had 12 points, 6 rebounds, an assist, steal and block. He’s averaging roughly 9/7 with 2 blocks over the past 2 weeks.

Ramon Sessions – The deep league hero tallied 19 points, 1 board, and 5 assists.

Bradley Beal – Missed all 5 shots, finished with 2 pints, 2 rebounds and 4 assists. Thanks for helping my fantasy team, Brad.

Ryan Anderson – Had 15 points with 1 three (but only 4 of 11 from the field), plus 5 rebounds, 2 assists and a block.

Jason Maxiell – Missed the 3 shots he attempted, had 1 point, 6 rebounds, and no blocks.

Evan Turner – To stick it out or not to stick it out, that is a question: 1 point, 6 rebounds, 9 assists, 2 steals, 1 block and 6 turnovers.

Jason Kidd – Sorry to talk about Jason every damn recap, but he went for 23 points (5 three pointers made), 6 rebounds, 8 assists and a steal. That’s vintage Kidd, or vint-Kidd.

Marcus Thornton – We see where his value is when he doesn’t score: 6 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 threes. Quick stats: 3.3 RPG, 1.7 APG, 1.0 SPG, 0.2 BPG. No, those aren’t his season stats. Those are his career stats. Come on, Marcus, if you’re not making threes, you’re not making anyone happy.
