As the east coast got hammered with a record snow fall, all I can say is thank goodness for fantasy basketball.
Between the hours of shoveling and cabin fever, having a simple hobby like fantasy basketball provides a distraction from my losing battle with Mother Nature.
While I might not be lucky enough to win my matchups even with the extra preparation time, at least I had something to keep me entertained.
At the end of the day, win or lose, that’s the real reason we all play. Fantasy basketball is fun, and even small victories, such as correctly streaming a breakout player, validate a season’s worth of decision.
For those top tier teams, winning is definitely fun.
Check out how your teams stacked up in week 13 of the 2015-16 RCL Master Standings Table table, and here’s how the action went down in the thirteenth regular season week across our 22 RCL Leagues:
JB’s Random Commenter League – RJ (76-38-3) continues his strong season with another 8-1-0 victory in week 13, but with The Big Fundamentals (74-41-2) lurking in second place 2.5-games behind the leader, RJ’s margin for error is thinner than a Manu Ginobili’s haircut.
Slim’s RCL – Back on point like a stegosaurus, Dick Champagne! (72-43-2) has reclaimed his number one spot in the standings with a 8-1-0 victory in week 13.
Adam’s RCL – We ask all passengers to remain seated with their seat belts buckled and trays in the upright position as Walkers Wingmen (77-37-3) passes through his week 13 turbulence losing 3-6-0.
Kap vs. Razzball – With a 12.5-game lead over second place, Sniff & SCurry (80-35-2) continues to reign supreme in the standings.
Khang’s RCL – Leading the Master RCL Standings for the second week in a row, Nick is Razzy (83-33-1) is solidifying himself as the team to beat with a 7-2-0 victory last week.
Stanley’s RCL – Scotty G (76-41-0) is so much of a G, he could be an H!!! Bad jokes aside, the man finds himself atop the standings once again on the heels of a 7-2-0 victory.
Drew’s Premier Razzball League – With a 14-game lead over second place, Some Type of Mudiay (77-36-4) really needs some tougher competition at this point. Maybe it would be more entertaining to write about the battle for second place instead.
Al’s RCL – IT2/3 of a cup (79-36-2) has developed a 11-game lead over the next closest competitor after a 7-2-0 victory in week 13.
Phil’s RCL – Jumping back into first place after a 6-3-0 performance last week, El Toro Lloilo (71-45-1) assures us that no bulls were harmed in the making of his league lead.
Sock Puppet RCL – Currently second place in the Master RCL Standings, alligno (82-34-1) once again finds himself atop the standings in week 13.
The Pete Nice Challenge RCL – With an absolutely absurd 17.5-game lead over second place, Smokin’ Fine Cubans (82-35-0) also holds the third spot in the Master RCL Standings. Seriously though, we should probably stop the fight at this point, because this is just unfair.
Slim’s other RCL – Despite a 4-4-1 performance last week (is this a win, loss, or tie? I really can’t tell), Fear the Beard (69-46-2) retains the top spot in the standings after facing off against second-place General Ish (61-54-2).
London RCL – Trash talking his way to the top of the league standings, Big-O-Miller (80-35-2) is in first place on the heels of an excellent draft class. His 10 waiver wire acquisitions prove there’s little need for adjustment when you draft a stellar team.
Adam’s League #2! – Every time I see DunkeycornApocalypse (75-40-2) in first place, I’m reminded about these unanswered questions of the team origin. This leaves only two options: tell us your secrets, or kindly move into second place.
Khang’s RCL – Part Deux – Just like Kobe (71-46-0) continues to run the table in his league with a solid 6-3-0 victory in week 13. However, with Counting Coup (66-49-2) a modest 4-games back, Kobe will need to continue his clutch play to maintain his lead.
JB vs. Slim – No surprises here, Mr Green Beans (79-38-0) has a hefty 10-game lead over second place. Wake me up when the playoffs start.
RCL is my hot hot _____ – Speaking of predictable, SBC (76-38-3) remains in first place after a 5-4-0 victory in week 13. While I am still unsure of origins of the team name, I think it’s a safe bet to assume the “B” stands for “Best.”
ATOWN RCL – Ahh yes, can always count on the ATOWN RCL to provide some excitement in my life. The Bookhouse Boys (73-42-2) are in first place once again, but with Rim Protectors (71-45-1) and James’s Superb Team (71-45-1) both 2.5-games back, the race is anything but over at this point in the season.
JB’s surprise RCL – Currently fourth in the Master RCL Standings, Heat Apologist (81-35-1) have been the fantasy basketball equivalent of the fire emoji this year.
EmasculatingHoopsLozengesRCL – Kobe beef Curry may have lost the battle last week, but they are still winning the war. Even after a 4-5-0 defeat, he still has a 7.5-game lead over second place.
Charlie’s RCL – So I may have lost to the first-place Brixton Guns (77-38-2) last week in a very 4-5-0 contest. But from my perspective, a close loss to the best team is basically like a win!
Kap vs. Razzball Round 2 – With a 7-2-0 victory last week, Kap’s Team (73-43-1) maintains his control over the top spot in the standings once again.
