Although it’s been a while since my last RCL Update, fantasy basketball has no off-weeks, or off-days for that matter. While the majority of us were enjoying the holiday season, our fantasy dedication was tested and strengthened during this time.
For the teams able to prosper in the face of adversity, I solute you, and may you be kindly rewarded with a mention in the recap.
For everyone else, it’s time to get your act into gear as we approach the halfway point in the season.
Check out how your teams stacked up in week 11 of the 2015-16 RCL Master Standings Table table, and here’s how the action went down in the eleventh regular season week across our 22 RCL Leagues:
JB’s Random Commenter League – WOW it’s been a while since I wrote the RCL update. After spending the better part of my fall semester avoiding any and all responsibilities by thinking of cougar puns, I regret to inform readers that Carolina Cougars (49-50-0) have fallen to seventh place. While we pour one out for our fallen star, we can celebrate RJ (62-34-3) ascending to the number one spot in the league standings.
Slim’s RCL – Dick Champagne! (61-36-2) certainly has reason to celebrate this week holding onto first place after going 5-4-0 last week.
Adam’s RCL – In this world, nothing is certain except for death, taxes, and Walkers Wingmen (69-27-3) first place position in the league standings. With a 13.5 game-lead over second place and the third overall spot in the master standings, it’s no wonder Ben Franklin’s proclamation has stood the test of time.
Kap vs. Razzball – Sniff & SCurry (66-31-2) finds himself atop the standings week after week with consistency only rivaled by the reigning MVP.
Khang’s RCL – Third in the RCL master standings, Nick is Razzy (70-28-1) continues his season-long successes behind the efforts of superstars Steph Curry and Paul George. After a 6-3-0 victory over second place O Souvi (63-36-0), it’s safe to safe Nick will be a permanent fixture of the RCL updates.
Stanley’s RCL – In a two-way tie for first, Scotty G (63-36-0) and matt’s Crazy Team (62-35-2) find themselves neck-and-neck after both posting 7-2-0 records in week 11.
Drew’s Premier Razzball League – Some Type of Mudiay (61-34-4) is doing everything that his namesake is not by excelling in a basketball-related activity! With a 7-game lead over second place, it looks like Mudiay is starting to run away in the standings.
Al’s RCL – Sometimes absence makes the heart grow fonder. I’m glad to see IT2/3 of a cup (67-30-2) remaining in first place after the RCL standings extended hiatus. In the same way that my bond with this team has been strengthened, so has the margin of victory, jumping to 10-games over second place after a 7-2-0 win in week 11.
Phil’s RCL – El Toro Lloilo (60-38-1) has managed to stay in command of the standings with the grace and tact of a Spanish matador, using the waiver wire to strengthen his team every week. Although with one-game lead over second place Rondo’s Gay Boogie (58-33-83), the competition chasing down the league leader like the running of the bulls. (It’s starting to get late, so I really hope that simile made sense).
Sock Puppet RCL – After a 4-5-0 loss in week 11, alligno (66-32-1) has seen his lead shrink to a measly 2.5 games with the surging Thragnovs (64-35-0) vying for the number one spot on the heels of a 7-2-0 victory last week.
The Pete Nice Challenge RCL – Fan favorite Smokin’ Fine Cubans (71-28-0) not only finds himself in second place in the RCL Master Standings after a perfect 9-0-0 mark last week, but the Yahoo Avatar with Cuban smoking a cigar has finally been restored. Also I would to call attention to the absolutely ridiculous 16-game lead over second place.
Slim’s other RCL – Fear the Beard (59-39-1) has claimed the top spot in the standings riding the offensive mastery of James Harden back into contention.
London RCL – Big-O-Miller (66-31-2) remains in first place after a 6-3-0 win in week 11. Although on behalf of all the millennials reading this, who is the Oliver Miller??
Adam’s League #2! – While it might not be the end of the world as we know it, the apocalypse is still on its way with DunkeycornApocalypse (61-36-2) holding a 4.5-game lead over second place.
Khang’s RCL – Part Deux – Mabma Say, Mamba Do. Just like Kobe (62-37-0) has lived off that mantra all season long finding himself in first place with a 4.5-game lead over second.
JB vs. Slim – Mr Green Beans (66-33-0) did not let the holidays affect his his control on the league standings, remaining in first place with a 7.5-game buffer.
RCL is my hot hot _____ – In an excellent display of fantasy talent management, SBC (65-31-3) has enjoyed season-long success behind the stellar play of Steph Curry and Paul George.
ATOWN RCL – In the most tightly-contested RCL at the moment, James’s Superb Team (61-37-1) finds himself in first place, but at only 0.5-games behind the leader, The Bookhouse Boys (60-37-2) is in position to usurp the number one spot. With One Bid Barker (59-38-2) and Rim Protectors (59-39-1) both 1.5- and 2-games back respectively, the standings could look much different next week.
JB’s surprise RCL – Heat Apologist (73-25-1) will have to apologize to every other RCL participant for claiming the precious number one spot in the Master RCL Standings.
EmasculatingHoopsLozengesRCL – Kobe beef Curry (63-35-1) proved himself to be a seasoned fantasy owner but taking control of the league standings.
Charlie’s RCL – After a 7-2-0 victory in week 11, Brixton Guns (65-32-2) continue their domination in the league standings. In other news, I have won three games in a row! Thanks in large part to heavy streaming, I have weathered the Kevin Durant injury with confidence and find myself in seventh place, firmly establishing myself in playoff contention. It’s a Christmas miracle!
Kap vs. Razzball Round 2 – As the league namesake, it’s only right for Kap’s Team (64-35-0) to be in first place. Although, this does represent a huge conflict of interest, I am willing to overlook it since he owns Dion Waiters.
