We are back at it again, in the kitchen cooking up a delightful dish that will satisfy your picky palate. As always, I am here to offer you fantasy goldmines whenever possible that allow you the opportunity to gain some footing as you climb the ranks in your respective leagues. The value of any player will often be subject to many factors, however, and I always look towards a conceivable path to improvement when evaluating an underperforming player such as minutes, trends, and player history to name a few.
Our beloved NBA continues to be under attack from Omicron and I cannot help but to feel like Omicron sounds like a Decepticon from the planet Cybertron who is here to steal my Energon cubes. To answer your question, yeah, I watched a boatload of Transformers as a kid.
Moving on, let us take a gander at a player who, at 28 years old is in his Optimus Prime and is currently playing like a shell of the player we expected on draft day.
Rollout.

Richaun Holmes
Let us begin with the fact that this Sacramento Kings team is a joke right now and the Jesters would be a far more apt name for this franchise. The Jesters have not seen the playoffs in 15 years and counting. In fact, the last time this team was in the post-season, Brad Miller was jumping at the center position, The Office made its debut, and Hurricane Katrina ravaged Louisiana. That level of perspective is shocking and when you look at this roster there does not seem to be an end in sight.
However, I do not view Richaun Holmes as part of the problem as he is one of their better assets. It was only last season when the Homie finished the season ranked 35th overall behind averages of:
14.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.6 steals, 1.6 blocks while shooting 63.7% and 79.4% from the field and from the line respectively.
Those types of percentages for a big man are rare as in most cases, once the elite big men are off the board you are likely sacrificing free throw percentage in exchange for a strong field goal percentage.
Over the past week, since returning from a seven game absence Richaun has been the 233rd ranked player and has scored a total of 13 points during that span averaging 4.3 points and 5.7 rebounds on 46.2 and 50 percent from the field and line respectively. You do not need to be a Sherlock Holmes to figure out there is value here. He will not be this bad for too long and while he may not duplicate the top 35 finish from a year ago, he will be nowhere near the rank he is currently sitting at.
This is low-ball territory and you have the opportunity to reap the rewards of a top 50 potential player for pennies on the dollar. Float out some offers that include, a top 80-100 player and you should surely have the attention of Holmes’ managers. The minutes have been low for Holmes, which also contributes to his low-level production but I imagine the playing time will increase sooner than later.
I can also envision a roster shake-up in Sac Town and while trades can be unpredictable, I feel that Holmes will be a winner no matter who comes in or who goes out.
As always, hit me up in the comments section for your rebuttals, agree or disagree it is all welcome.
Good luck out there my people.
