First of all, I am super excited to be a part of the Razzball community and share my fantasy knowledge with you guys. In this article, I will cover my 2020-21 fantasy basketball overdrafted or bust players. Bust means finishing much lower than preseason average draft position.

Kevin Durant- ADP 11.5

Durant has top 5 talent, but is being severely overdrafted at 11.5. He is coming off one of the worst injuries a player can – Achilles tear. In H2H leagues, the missed games are brutal and it’s pretty safe to assume he will not play back-to-backs and will likely miss a good amount of games.

Zion Williamson ADP 22.5

This selection is an easy one for me, as Zion has glaring weaknesses. Based on last season, Zion shot 64% from the free throw line along with with only 0.3 three pointers per game. Another negative is his defensive stats, averaging only 0.7 steals and 0.4 blocks. Williamson can improve drastically, but if you take him in the second round there is no value to be had.

Kemba Walker ADP 37.5

Kemba is a very good player for the Celtics, but his fantasy value is dropping. His ADP should be falling hard now that he will not be ready for the start of the season. I see no value taking Kemba in the top 60 when he will miss games to start the season due to injury.

Devonte’ Graham ADP 76.5

Graham was a pretty good fantasy player last year despite his poor fg%. The arrival of Hayward and LaMelo Ball will really cut into his value. His assist, points, and 3 pointers should come down and, paired with his low fg%, he is a player that I am very reluctant to take in the top 100.

Anthony Edwards ADP 91.5

I do not seeing Edwards coming into the NBA and making a big impact in fantasy. There are too many mouths to feed in Minnesota and I see tons of players in this range with more value. He will be a little one dimensional, contributing in just points and will hurt your teams fg%. In dynasty leagues, he might be worth a look here, but in redraft I want no part of him in this range.

What do you think about taking zion at 23 in a punt FT build? Keeper league where we keep 4 as well. Presumably first 2 picks would be luka/giannis and then adebayo

Zion was ranked 69 last year per game in a punt ft% build. Still too high even with your build. Last season he offered very minimal defensive stats, and those could be key stats for you. Giannis and Bam are great starts in your build.

Love this! Thank you. Having Julio and Golladay in football has made me even more leery of injuries in all sports.

I have the sixth pick in a 12 teamer, H2H, 9 cats. My mock drafts make me think I will be deciding between Lillard and a post player (one of AD, Joker and Towns are usually there). Not sure Lillard is as good as these big guys but Towns coming off an injury, AD could have load management issues during playoff weeks, I like Joker at 6. What are your thoughts on this?

Second round options are including: Butler, Siakam, Booker, Jrue, Westbrook. Please rank.

    Thanks!

Oh geez man. Don’t even start with Julio and Golladay haha. I have a $400 where I have Julio this week so I’m super bitter!! Well 6 is great spot this year. There us very little chance AD or Harden will be there when you draft. You cannot go wrong with Joker man. Lillard is definitely as good as the guys, but I feel like if you’re coming a little short on 3s and points those can be found on waivers. With your 2nd pick you’re setting pretty well. If Booker is there you grab him no matter what. Just too early for Siakiam and Jrue. What about guys like Beal, Bam, and Shai? Do you think those guys will be there in the 2nd round?

Nice! Beal not likely but yes on Shai and Bam. If I go Joker, Bam first two, I can see Ingram, Murray, Paul being there fir me in round 3 and maybe even in round 4. SF is a tough slot to fill so leaning Ingram a bit earlier than most.

Do you like Rooster late? Been clear of injuries lately but not sure what to think of the Hawks this year. More mouths to feed.

I just did a draft where I picked 5 and got PG in the 2nd with Shai going right before me. So there is a good chance he will be there. Bam has been going a little higher from what I have seen so far. Just remember if you get Joker and Bam that your points will be weak along with your 3s. If you get those 2 and then snag like Lavine or Mitchell then that would be nice. I think the Hawks are gonna be much better. He might be okay this year. He should score and nail some 3s just don’t go crazy and draft him im the 60s or 70s or anything. Im interested to see how your team is gonna turn out!!

Good stuff. Enjoy you and SON.
I had Harden last two years so I have been spoiled. Won the Chip two years ago, was in first when Covid hit last year.. So in my mind, trying for an asterisk laden three peat.

Appreciate it man. I know Harden has spoiled all of us that have had him. You got this!! Go out there and get that three peat. Good luck buddy!

What about Devin Booker and Shai? I think they’re good, but man are they getting a lot of hype. What are we expecting them to do exactly this year?

Booker is consistently going 11th or 12th in H2H leagues. He is well worth the selection though with the big scoring. Booker averaged right at 49% from the field and almost 92% from the line. Wow such an awesome start to your percentages. Be aware that he doesn’t bring the swipes or rejections, but there’s some to be had in your later picks. Oh and we forgot to mention the addition of CP3. He’s going to receive all kinds of open looks. If you take Book be prepared for a fun ride!

Our next guy here is Mr. Shai. We all know he has the keys to the offense now with basically nobody around in OKC anymore. Shai could be an absolute monster this year maybe even flirt with first round value. He shot a solid 47% from the field and a decent 80.7 ft%. His scoring will undoubtedly rise from his 19 ppg last season, and he seems like he will improve on the defensive end. Alexander’s usage will be through the roof. As good as he might be though, the hype is getting pretty wild. He is starting to creep into that mid 2nd round territory in 12 team drafts. That area could very well be his ceiling when you have guys like Beal and George right behind him who are much more proven. If you can snag this guy around 25-30 you’ll be a little happier with your selection.
