1. Boss hoss, how high are you on LaMelo stock?

   I need to free up a roster spot for Wiseman’s eventual return (stream in the mean time).

   Sir Sonnn! Would Oubre, RoCo, and Clarke for LaMelo and role players (a la PJ Tucker, Len, Toscano, etc) be too much? I know in a vacuum it is, but they’re so maddening to own and it seems like LB might be ready to blow up (league has 3 reb cats, so I’m a tad hesitant for that reason more than the overpay). I, also, think Clarke will take a hit when JJJ, Val and Ja finally get on the court together.

     I’m high on LaMelo. I usually fade rookies but he was the one who I thought could be a difference maker.

     It’s probably too much but I get the thinking and don’t hate it. What’s the rest of squad look like?

     • What it is, what it do?!

       We align similarly on this – not sure its worth the overpay, but do love LaMelo. My team is strong, but there are two other teams stacked, as well, so not sure I can part with all the rebounds. We keep 5 by round drafted, 11 cats – std plus off reb and def reb, and 12 teams in league.

       PG – Dame
       SG – Harden
       G – Westbrook
       SF – LaVine
       PF – Jokic
       F – B Clarke
       C – Bam Ad
       C – Boucher
       Util – Plumlee
       Util – Oubre
       BN/injured but not yet on IL: C Wood, P George, H Barnes, Ro Cov, J Lamb

       IL – Wiseman, Okongwu, Winslow, & Claxton
       **Okongwu, I am still holding in case Collins and/or Capela gets moved or hurt because he’s a 14th round draft pick/keeper potential, but losing faith daily.

       The waiver wire is pretty dead…Rubio, Ingles, Crowder, Melton, Toppin, etc. are out on it.

         Could you do a package with Russ?

         • My guess is he would want to swap a guy out, and I am not sure Oubre, Cov, or Clarke will give me more value than aging/resting Russ because of Russ’ rebounding. He is my surest bet to get 10 rebounds.

           I am sure he would consider RW, but what package would it be? He might not love it, though, because of his age and he’s a 1st or 2nd round keeper.

           • I hear ya. Ball is a good rebounder himself. It’s a keeper league so I’d pay the tax. Just depends how high it is

             • No question Ball is best keeper, which is why the guy would resist. I am only looking for rental (this season).

               To give more context, my keepers are:

               Jokic (12th round)
               Bam (8th)
               Boucher (13th)
               Wood (14th)

               those are locks…

               the fifth spot I was thinking Wiseman in 3rd. Do you like Ball in 6th more?

               • I’d think about selling Boucher

                   • Depends on the market. I’d assume his value is pretty high right now. You just have to find that one owner. Send out the emissaries!

             • If the tax is Oubre, RoCo, and Clarke for basically Ball because other guys are drop/streams. You do it?

               I do have IL guys coming, and Lamb is only borderline drop/stream…so doesn’t hurt terribly to open spot, if he is substantially better?

               **Sprinkling in baseball – do you like G Torres or Giolito more in dynasty cats (std plus OBP & k/9)

               • I guess I do it.

                 I’ve never been a Torres guy so there. With that said, I do usually side with hitters

                 • Dude – we are the Bill and Ted of this journey – I feel the same!

                   I am stacked with bats, and I have Albies at 2b (with Whit as util back up 2b)…so go for Giolito despite our philosophy of bats over flats (SP).

                   And I feel the lukewarm attitude on LaMelo trade…I will wait until GS plays and see if Oubre keeps a hot hand?

                   • I like the way you think – I naturally gravitate towards Ted because KR is my guy, but Bill is a fantastic film/documentary maker, so I’ll accept whatever you decide… LOL

                     And I meant that you’re lukewarm on the trio for LaMelo…but maybe not, based on your confusion at the assertion.

                     You really like the play for LaMelo despite losing the three guys?

                   • We are kindred spirits. I’m a Ted guy too. I’ll be 1988 Ted and you are future Ted then.

                     I’m not crazy about the trade because minutes are minutes but it is a keeper and his ceiling is the highest. Plus your situation makes it palatable. I’ve talked myself into it. Would try to get some minutes in return

                   • Fair is fair – as long as you’re Ted, you’re winning!

                     I did counter him asking for Keldon in the deal; I think he’ll reject because he has nice keeper value too. What about J Wall, BogBog, or Olynyk? I am guessing try for them in that order?

                     The guy is only accepting a trade of Ro Co, Oubre, and Clarke for LaMelo, Marcus Moris, and Tucker…

                     His obstinance is irritating me based on getting three players and not even including the likes of BojBog or Olynyk instead…

                     Would you take the trash heap dump with LaMelo for the three under-performers that at least are getting legit minutes as starters?

2. Hi Son.

   Should I drop Rui for Steven Adams in a standard league?

   • What’s the context? And what’s squad look like?

3. Our league (12 teams, h2h, 9 cats) allows a maximum of four centers to be rostered which is severely limiting my streaming game if I need bounds or blocks. Trying to figure out a trade of one of my centers. Here is my roster and some questions on trades. Thank you!

   Horford, JJJ,
   Ayton, Val, Holmes, B Lopez

   1. Of my centers, I feel like Ayton would have the biggest variance between perceived value and true value. He is ok but not blocking shots so not loving him. WDYT?

   2. Given my team (2nd place somehow), Please give me a Yes or No to the following trade ideas.
   A. Ayton for Siakam
   B. Ayton for Jrue
   C. Ayton for Collins
   D. Ayton for Capela
   E. Ayton for Shai
   F. Ayton for LaVine

   3. Are there a couple of players out there who you think are ready to vastly improve upon their current performance (increased playing time or likely trade impact etc)?

       • Are you punting dimes? Or trying to strengthen?

         I think MPJ plays more as the season progresses, so I’d rather have Vuc/MPJ than LaVine/Jerami.

         I am intrigued by the Bam/Sexton trade and would probably do it, unless you are punting dimes, then it doesn’t make sense

6. You have me thinking more about young guys who could have extra run…,, Maledon was a good tip and I am tossing in P Williams in the mix with the Bulls possibly wanting to play him more rather than watching OPJ and T Young take away his developmental minutes.

   Would it be worth it to grab both these guys (or just one?) and drop Elfrid and/or OPJ ?

8. News that OPJ won’t play yet again on Monday coupled with Hunter’s surgery, puts some pressure on me to find guys who actually play. With only one IR spot occupied by the liar JJJ, I dropped Otto for P Williams.

   So here’s the squad and the WW in my 12 team, h2h, 9 cat league. In second place but super tight 2nd-5th.
