So I almost called it the IST, which reminded me that I should probably make sure I’m getting the name right and not advertising a bodily function/reaction. We already have to deal with the itis, why do we need the IST? But yeah, apparently others felt the same and this season, it is now officially set as the Emirates NBA Cup. Who the Emirates are and what kind of rates they are actually offering, I have no idea, but I do like the NBA Cup nomenclature. Since, you know, a cup can hold liquor. And I guess soup. But mainly liquor.
Regardless, I believe we are technically still in Week 7, though we may be in Week 8, but since Yahoo has no idea what week it is, I’m fine not knowing either, therefor, these are the rankings for this week until the next week, so it will be, so it is done.
Will Nikola Jokic score 500 more points while the Nuggets go winless the next few days? He’s already gone 104/30/18/4 on 58/55/77, so I would say yes. (Just for those tracking, that puts him at 32/14/10 on 56/51/81 for the season…
The Suns continue to suffer without Kevin Durant, now 1-9 without him. Joel Embiid actually showed up, I mean, not just to a lineup and on the floor playing basketball, but actually doing it sorta well? He finished with 31 points, 12 rebounds and 2 blocks against the Bulls, It was still on 13-28 FG, but whatever, you take what you can get from him, and this season it’s been like what, two quality games?
Anyways, here are your NBA Cup (and beyond) rankings, not sponsored by the Emirates…
