Every Saturday, I will update the below Google sheet. It will show the upcoming schedule for all teams with color-coding for pace rankings. RED = slowest. YELLOW = middle of the pack. GREEN = fastest. Pace is the number of possessions a team has per game. More possessions increase the chances of more fantasy goodies. The data I use for pace, which is year-to-date, is from ESPN. I also want to give a shoutout to Hashtag Basketball, as their schedule grid is fantastic and allowed me to save time by not having to look at each team’s schedule. Good luck next week!

With this team in a 12 team league, 9 cats, would you rather cut Rose, Ibaka or Bazley?

Would you drop anyone of my team for waiver ?? h2h, 9cat, 14 teams

Waiver list: barton,batum,royce,monte,dort,plumlee,ingles

Have both PJ Wash and B Lopez out. PJ won’t even be evaluated for another week. Brooke? Who knows. I am patient so losing a few cats this week is not an issue.
I am 14-13 in a 12 team, h2h league. Nine cats. One IR spot. Team below:
Try to hold both and tough it out or cut bait on one?
WW options: RoCo, Zubac, Bane, Sengun, Vassell

CP3, VanVleet, Dane, McConnell
Smart, Melton,
Tatum, Bazley, Tate
Horford, JJJ, PJ
Myles
One streamer spot
IR: Lopez

Well, this check-in finds my team in 7th pace in a 12 teamer, h2h, 9 cat league. The good news is I take the long view building toward the playoffs and have already played the top two teams. So the schedule flips in my favor now but my team is going through a patch of injuries. Here’s the team and top WW options;

Dame (out), VanVleet (DTD), McConnell, CP3
Smart, Melton, Bane,
Tatum, Bazley, Tate
JJJ, Horford (DTD), PJ Wash (out),
Myles
IR: BLopez
WW: Simons, RoCo, K Hayes, A Gordon, Dragic, Little

I imagine Dame’s situation may dictate my next steps. If he’s out a week or so, fine. But if he, BLo and PJ are out longer term, I may need to drop the last two guys to field a decent team. So given that, what would you do?

Yo! Care to comment on my roster? Looks like I’m headed for a fourth consecutive loss, even though I’d have won my last matchup if any of my players would’ve had two more points – or drawn it, had they gotten just the one – and it looks like a 5-4 defeat again. Does the team itself look like a bunch of bums or should it be salvageable and is more to do with a number of bad starts? 12 team, 9 cat H2H.

Heh, both Batum and Vassell chucked up some goose eggs last night. Are you still a RoCo believer? I’m in that odd position where I don’t really want to drop any of the 3 but do want to pick up Metu. If Batum’s minutes are an implication of injury or w/e, that would make him the drop, but there’s no news of that either. And Covington is like nature in how he usually finds a way…

Mixed Laker news for me. Horton Tucker was a terrific pick up. Made me feel smart for a day. LeBron was supposedly out for weeks and now back Friday???? These beat reporters are either terrible or being misled.

Lack of news on BLo is concerning. I am holding him and PJ Wash. PJ seems due back soon. But an older 7 footer like Lopez with a bad back is concerning. I am kinda partial to the twins since my son played with them in HS. Would you hold or drop him for one of Bane, Metu, Melton, Pat Conn, SloMo, Huerter or Rooster? I am in the middle of the pack in a 12 teamer.

Hey Son – any point in trying the following trades? ESPN points, 18t:

Bamba + Smart for Stewart
or
Nurk, Bamba and Smart for Vuc + Giddey or Siakam + Giddey be worth an attempt?

I’m trying to cut solely C-eligible players down to a minimum (and wouldn’t mind the added possibility of a streaming spot) and also have Smart, Poole (sell-high?) and Tate as potentially expendable pieces. Looking for SF/PF, SG/SF, PF/C types to trade for, but I’m totally lost on who to even aim for. Bamba + Smart for Scottie was promptly shot down.

It really depends on the other owners and their roster construction. I try and communicate with the other owners to try and see what info I can glean from them. Who are their favorite players? What are they trying to accomplish? If there are no lines of communication, then try and put yourself in their shoes and see what you’d be willing to do if you had their squad and go from there. Send offers and try and get info that way.

Luguentz

Reply to  Son

Yup. Since there are no ‘builds’ in points leagues, the things I try to gauge are dearth/excess of any positions, amount of players injured, and whether they have any expendable players (as my more-for-less type offers wouldn’t have any standing if the other team has no droppables). But my question was more along the grounds of whether I’d be giving up too much, too little or just about enough? Because I’m in a favourable position right now and would just like to tweak it slightly upwards; if I’m doing trades just to do trades and weakening my team in the process, then I could just stand pat

Son

Gotcha. I’d explore the Siakam one. Depends on cost. Points leagues are pretty straight forward in terms of value so then it will come down to your positional desires

RE: the pick-up: also Lonnie Walker. No one currently must-roster perhaps, but I’d say the point lies more in just having the flexibility to bounce on potential openings and having that freedom, whereas a solid-but-middling last guy can turn into a hindrance instead of a benefit because of this

I’ve failed for now, however there’s another interesting development. Someone dropped Dinwiddie – would you drop anyone for him? I suppose Bamba is out of the question, Smart probably as well, so my weakest link would be Tate. FWIW it would weaken me at SF even more for now, but possibly yield a trade chip. If yes, I’d also need to figure how much out of a seasonal budget of 1000 bucks to shell out for Spence.

Thoughts on straight-up offering Tate, Smart, or Poole for Vassell in 18T points? F/G eligibility instead of too many PG/SGs could help make sure I can field a full squad more often. Not sure of tradeoff pros and cons otherwise

Luguentz

Smart sometimes has these big games, but can be in the same ballpark otherwise. Poole’s bigger performances are way bigger than anything Vassell’s done thus far – so perhaps he’s a keep even if Klay returns? Tate is quite similar – and is only a SF himself. I think both Poole and Vassell are upside plays, and as such, perhaps Smart? Smart’s current avg is 18.4 to Vassell’s 17.6 FPPG

Sorry if this posts twice, there seem to be different versions of the website. I tried to post in one version and then I reloaded the page and ended up in this version.

I am looking to next year and selling Jokic in a 13 team auction keeper league, 9 category roto ($200 for the draft, then increases to $250 after the draft). Jokic can’t be kept next year. I’ve reached out and have a few offers, and would appreciate your thoughts. We have a two round draft each year of NCAA players, so when I refer to a pick that is the pick I mean. Offers are:

1. Cade ($20 next year) and a first round 2022 NCAA pick

2. Durant ($62 next year)

3. Heyward ($21 next year), Lowry ($21 next year), Horford ($9 next year)

4. Wood ($28 next year), Quickley ($1 next year), Poole ($10 next year),Gafford ($9 next year), Wiseman ($10 next year), Dillon Brooks ($6 next year) plus a first round 2023 NCAA pick and a second round 2022 NCAA pick

5. Kuzma ($7 next year) and PJ Washington ($13 next year), plus a first round 2023 NCAA pick

6. R. Holmes ($10 next year) and a first round 2023 NCAA pick (maybe a first round 2022 NCAA pick too), plus one of Seth Curry ($6 next year) or Trent Jr. ($6 next year)

7. Some combination of Claxton ($1 next year), Clarke ($1 next year), Simons ($3 next year), Mikal Bridges ($9 next year) (offer is a little hazy)

8. Lillard ($65 next year), Vassell (topper right, no less than $2), Thybulle (topper right, no less than $2), two first round 2023 NCAA picks

I like 4 a bit, but that seems way too expensive for Wood and I would have to keep him at that price (he’s the only one of that set I would have to keep because of an existing contract). I’m also worried that a number of those guys could lose PT, it feels pretty speculative.

I also like Durant, because it’s a good contract and assures me a relatively reasonably priced star. That said, I see some value in a number of these, though I think 1 can be ruled out and probably 8 too.

For reference, I am definitely keeping Garland ($13 next year) and likely keeping Brogdon ($24 next year), and also have options to keep Barnes ($8 next year), Hield ($11 next year), Duarte ($4 next year), and Wiggins $13 next year).

Sorry for the long message, I haven’t been following as closely as I should this year so guidance as to which options seem the most promising would be very appreciated.

Thanks!

All good. How many teams in league? Roster size and there’s no limit to keepers right?

1 jumped out to me. Do you know where that pick could land?

The more I read, the more I understand why you like 4 since you are guard heavy as is in terms of keepers.

The prices on those players are nice but there are some concerns. Uncertainty with wood and that’s a high price to pay for that. How does Poole fit in gs with everyone healthy? How will taffies forget when TB returns? Is wiseman good? Where are those picks?

What’s your philosophy? Competing? Going young? Stars and scrubs? Balanced with depth?

Thanks Son, 13 teams, 15 players + 2 IR spots. No limit on keepers except the budget.

In 1, the owner has a few picks, but it would probably be top 5. Does Cade’s FG% concern you?

On 4, too early to tell on the picks.

I’d ideally be competing next year. I don’t have a set philosophy on age, we set contracts for our keepers in a way that no one can be kept for more than 4 years (and it’s very rare anyone is kept more than 2). I’m in favor of reasonably balanced drafts with depth because Covid (I got burned with Towns last year), though if I end up with a star or two I’d adapt. Usually my drafts are decent, it’s the in season management part where I sometimes have issues.

Anything else jump out at you? Thanks again.

Gotcha. Cade and top 5 pick sounds good to me. I’m not overly concerned with Cade’s fg% as I think he will improve with experience. He can stuff the stat sheet and I wouldn’t be surprised if he racks up his share of trip dubs. But that’s just me.

There is no one path. Many can be viable. Choose the one that fits your personal vision and philosophy.

Thanks, me neither. Had another one come in, John Collins ($23 next year) and Mikal Bridges ($9 next year). I think some combination of Claxton ($1 next year), Clarke ($1 next year), Simons ($3 next year) too (still a little hazy on details). Still prefer Cade?

Hi Son, it’s about decision time for me. Here’s where things currently are with what I can get for Jokic ($66, this year, can’t be kept):

  1. Durant ($62 next year), Horford ($9 next year), Pat Williams ($3 next year)

2. Cade ($20 next year), and first round 2022 NCAA pick (likely top 7)

3. Ayton ($25 next year), Mikal Bridges ($9 next year), first round 2023 NCAA pick (too soon to tell how high)

4. Wood ($18 next year), Poole ($10 next year), Quickley ($1 next year), Wiseman ($10 next year), Dillon Brooks ($6 next year) plus a first round 2023 NCAA pick and a second round 2022 NCAA pick

I’m mostly debating among the first three at this point. The information about my team/potential keepers in the initial post is still correct. Ayton at that price is interesting, though Bridges hasn’t been that impressive. Cade feels risky as $20 rookie keeper with only $200 to start at auction. Durant is a nice safety net, but not sure if I’m being too conservative taking that option over others (assuming his injury tonight won’t impact next year).

Any final thoughts? And sorry if the formatting comes out weird here, having a little trouble with the new site.

Thanks!

Thanks for the extremely quick response, much appreciated. I’m not sure which of those guys I’m keeping other than Garland and Brogdon, but yeah, Ayton fits and it’s a good price assuming he stays healthy.

I may regret passing on Cade and Durant if I go the Ayton route, we’ll see what happens. So much upside in Cade. Anyway, thanks again.

The Ayton owner changed his mind, unfortunately. That said, I think I can get DeRozan ($20 next year) and Kuzma ($9 next year), with a first round pick, from another owner. I’d likely have to send Covington and Wiggins in addition to Jokic, but at 15 and 13 next year respectively not sure I’d keep either. Seem like a reasonable deal? Concerns about Kuzma losing PT? Thanks again, need to decide between those guys or taking the Durant or Cade deals.

Son!

I am in 7th, finally got my entire team back minus McCollum and AD

I have had a horrible season and I’m probably not going to win this week. Worst will be a 2-7 best a 6-3 but I need a huge Sunday.

Anyhow, with that being said I’m not out of it.

I’m light at Center with JV, Ayton, AD (INJ), and Vanderbilt.

I need to do something.

I was offered Andrew Wiggins and Norman Powell for Ayton. Take it or not?

My team is as follows

PG – Garland
SG – Hardaway Jr.
G – Porter Jr.
SF – Mikal Bridges
PF – Tatum
F – Vanderbilt
C – JV
C – Ayton
UTIL – Melton
UTIL – Schroder
B – Jalen Green
B – Brandon Clarke
B – Bledsoe
INJ – McCollum
INJ – AD

I am also dropping Bledsoe for Huerter

What do you think? My not having AD Hurts.

Bledsoe is garbage IMO he’s so hit or miss he’s killing me with those 0-5 4 TO games with 4 Assists. I know I’ll consistently get more from Huerter.

My only issue is the Center/PF Position.

I’m probably going to reject.

Thank you!

Simons playing well enough that I could see a Dame lengthy absence.Portland not going anywhere this year.
Maybe a complete shutdown.

I have offers out for Harden and Curry (their owners are shopping them as they are in 8th and 10th place respectively.) The Harden owner offered me Harden for Tatum and Smart early this year but he killed it once we started negotiating.
Smart helps me a lot but maybe he and Lillard get me Harden.

Son! I have a possible trade partner team looking to offload one or more of Collins, Ayton, and/or DeRozan. My possible trade chips are Hayward, Wood, Bane, Portis, and Hart. Bane, Portis, and Hart can each be kept next year at an 11th round price. Pick swaps are also an option.

Was offered Dinwiddie for my Kyrie. If Kyrie sticks to his no vax stance, I might take it. I punt FG% anyway. If he ends up playing every game tho I big time blow it. Fun times!
Also, big men and their feet. Myles was great for me but stress reactions spook me. Could be out 6-8 weeks but they are saying evaluate him in 2-3 weeks. Ballpark what is his value?

Both teams outside looking in for the playoffs so they are motivated. If I knew Myles would come back, I might just hold as I usually win blocks. Context: h2h, 12 teamer, 9 cats. I am in fourth place but there is a fairly large gap between 4th and 7th place. My issue is getting enough games each week as I have Lillard in my IR slot, Myles and Smart out with Kyrie a part – timer. Here is the squad that usually wins blocks, steals, and assists. We usually lose turnovers and FG %. Small ball but with blocks is odd but I like it!

CP3, VVleet, Kyrie, Smart, Schroder, PBev, Beal, Suggs
Tatum, JJJ, B Clark, Bagley
Myles
One streamer spot
IR: Lillard

Thoughts on the trades now that you have seen the squad?

The number one stunna!

Sir Son – need some help balancing Ben Simmons keeper value. The league is 12 teams, 11 cats with standard 9 plus off reb and def reb (boards are king), keep 5 by round.

Should I trade Simmons, D Sharpe, and 6th round pick next year for Jrue, RoCo, and 15th round pick?

Simmons is a keeper in the fifth round next year, and as a guard that can get double-digit boards, he can carry second round value.

My team is fringe title contender, do you think what I get is enough to give a 6th round pick and very solid keeper? Jrue and RoCo rounds aren’t keeper values.

As always, thanks!
