Future Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal called it quits over Twitter (and eventually a proper press conference later today) after deciding his nearly 39-year-old body couldn’t withstand an achilles surgery and nine months of rehab. When Boston signed O’Neal a year ago, the strategy was that he’d play sparingly throughout the year and empty the tank on Dwight Howard in the spring if Kendrick Perkins didn’t return to 100 percent. We’ve looked back on the best players at each position from the 2010 fantasy basketball season. Now we’re preparing to steal a few glimpses at the 15 best rookies of 2010. Fantasy-wise, defensive stoppers don’t get much respect. Chances are if you’re known for defense, it’s because you’re not known for offense. There may be a spot for you in a real team’s rotation, but not my fantasy team. While offensive stats make up six-and-a-half categories in most leagues (we’re splitting rebounds in half – I don’t truly know where rebounds should go. Please, blog, may I have some more?
