Hi! please help see some trade! 9 Cat Roto

    1. vucevic for porzing + rubio?? (assist/block/3’s look nice)

    2. oladipo for covington?

    is this too low?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

      @TheJohn: 1. Sure! 2. Oladipo still

  2. Jeremy says:
    (link)

    Hi JB and Slim,

In my RCL, I’m trading marc gasol + teague for Klay and Gobert. Good trade or did i give up too much for Klay?

I picked up Jrue holiday and MCW off the wire, so i feel comfortable letting go teague as i have a total of 6pgs including teague.

Gobert remains a risk but it seems like he should be back in a 2-3 weeks.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Jeremy: It’s a little risky, given you need Gobert to be solid when he’s back off injury. If he is you’ll be fine. Ah, yup your analysis is right on haha

  3. Tyler says:
    (link)

Hey JB, just curious why you’d pick Schroder over Marshall even though sixers say that starting PG job is Marshall’s to lose?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Tyler: This was the stash one right? Just don’t see the upside for Marshall and it’s the Sixers. If Teague goes down, Schroder could be top 50

      • Tyler says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: yep. Dont you think he can replicate his numbers with the lakers 2yrs ago? Good for a double dub threat nightly

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Tyler: Nahhhh not at all. Don’t trust the Sixers to play him enough minutes and could flip flop with Wroten or back to McConnell any time

          • Tyler says:
            (link)

@JB Gilpin: got it! Maybe i just got caught up with all these reports sayin that its his starting job to lose.. a vote of confidence from his coach and mgmt.

            • Slim

              Slim says:
              (link)

@Tyler: There’s a chance he gets more minutes than the others but he’s going to come along very slowly. 16-20 min, no back-to-backs, for a while. I think what the Sixers are going for is to showcase him enough that some team will bite and give them a 2nd round pick for him. I don’t think they in anyway see Marshall as a long term answer at PG. Marshall has a real nice contract. It’s 4 years at like 2mil a piece but only this year is guaranteed. Very easy to trade that. If I were to bet one who will see the most minutes when everyone is healthy I would bet on Wroten, it’s just too bad he’s a terrible fantasy asset.

              • JB Gilpin

                JB Gilpin says:
                (link)

@Tyler: @Slim: Agree, I think there’s been enough rumblings that the Sixers wanna try and make Wroten the starter, at least more long-term than Marshall is considered.

                • Tyler says:
                  (link)

@JB Gilpin: should i stash Alex Len or TJ Warren over Schroder?

                  • JB Gilpin

                    JB Gilpin says:
                    (link)

@Tyler: If a big man need I’d own Len, but prob not on Warren

  4. J says:
    (link)

    Hey JB,

Thoughts on JR with the Cavs becoming more healthy?
Any chance he puts up close to what he did the last 2 years?

Would you take him over Mirza in a 12er?

    Thanks!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@J: Nah no huge on JR, I’d ride the hot hand, right now would have Telet

  5. hamtime says:

So going back to this trade, which you were in favor of: my drum kemba otto for kd danny green; here is my current team – is it enough to sustain the loss of drum kemba otto?

pg,sg – curry, wade, burks, kemba
sg,sf – wiggins, marcus morris, otto
pf,c – towns, henson, tyson, dieng, drummond

if you think getting pg dragic for drum kemba is better, i guess ill push for it. how about drum for bled so i can keep kemba and otto? just that KD is so tempting.. no need to fear injury risk w him?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@hamtime: Got ya on yesterday’s, I like KD, and KD one more than getting PG

      • Hamtime says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: @slim thoughts on this pls?

who do you prefer between teague and bradley in vacuum

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

      @PT: Def still Teague

      • PT says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: and between teague and oladipo? just because of that 444 playoff sche …

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@PT: That one is closer, but yeah still Teague

  7. Eric says:
    (link)

Team: Paul, Bledsoe, Pizza Man, Basemore, Dieng, Barton, ‘Whiteside, Bogut, M Williams, Porter, H Barnes, L Williams, M Barnes, Gobert. Drop any 1 or 2 for Leuer, Mayo? Thanks

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Eric: I’d probably lose Bogut and H Barnes for those two

  8. Mike says:
    (link)

In a vacuum who would you rather have the rest of the season: Ibaka or Poison Goose? Thanks!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Mike: I’m still going Ibaka, but it’s not far off shockingly!

  9. Charlie says:
    (link)

Is it time to drop Danny Green? Or is his upside still worth holding?

Also how legit are Courtney Lee/Matt Barnes

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Charlie: 10/12ers Danny can go. I like Barnes a good bit. meh, Lee is just a shooter who gets hot sometimes, not as big for him

  10. kai says:
    (link)

how do you guys feel about a covington for conley trade? swap assists for steals+3s. fg% seems to be a push. the person also would do elfrid or rubio.

    9 cat espn

    my team:
    conley
    rubio
    elfrid
    beverley
    kyrie

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@kai: Hmmmm I think you could bring in a little more than Covington., although I do like your PG depth. I’d prefer Conley as the guy to give up though, more I’m thinking on it, more I kinda like it

  11. Kevin says:

30 Point Challenge – Kyle Lowry.

I haven’t listened to the pod yet, so I don’t know if one of you picked him. Does that matter?

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@Kevin: Nah, but it was JBs pick.

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@Kevin: @Slim: Nope all is fair game! Except Slim and I, we always have to go different

        • draco21 says:
          (link)

@JB Gilpin: And SLIM got you on that one. JB – 1, Slim -1, Commenters – 1 (If you remember, I picked Derozan that day as well).

Speaking of Derozan, fair to say that Wiggins in his mold? I get the optimism from you guys but damnnnn. Crazy scary seeing these 1st 1board games.

          • JB Gilpin

            JB Gilpin says:
            (link)

@draco21: Yup board is updated! You’re still the only commenter so far 🙂

Sigh. It’s closer than I would’ve hoped. That was kinda the comp in the offseason with my high Wiggins rank. No reason he should only be getting 1 REB

            • draco21 says:
              (link)

@JB Gilpin: Cracked this code. Rubio crashes the boards a lot. Towns and Dieng Reb monsters too. Wiggins runs to the other side of the court after a miss. That kind of explain the low Rebs. What I don’t get from this guy is how he doesn’t block or steal. I mean with that kind of athleticism you’d think he can def get more def stats.

I do like Wiggs a lot. I just don’t think he has the opportunity to dominate like the 2nd half of last season. However, he really plays well with Shabazz. Maybe if Martin gets traded, the ast would go up? I dunno. Projecting a top 70-80 year from this guy if everything goes well in the 2nd half of the season.

              • JB Gilpin

                JB Gilpin says:
                (link)

@draco21: Hah well yeah but he should just fall into a few more, but they were better this weekend. I dunno about way up with the dimes, but I do think more stl and blk will come, another 1/1 there today

  12. Tim says:
    (link)

thinking of moving wiggins because all he gives me is points and I think ppl in my league will over-value him… any thoughts on who I should target?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Tim: I still like him myself and think D stats come stronger, but he’s def a good guy to shop to FT punt teams as they’re usually light in scoring. Also just sorting league stats to the bottom few in scoring and see what stats they’re doing great in is a good way to shop

      • Tim says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: ahhh very smart JB!

How do you feel about wiggins for any of the following?

        the poison goose
        rondo
        dirk
        jackson
        vuce
        middleton
        batum
        mccollum
        jarred jack

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Tim: Guys I probably would – Goose, RJax, Vuc. Strongly would consider Batum. Rest I wouldn’t

  13. jonny says:
    (link)

Good stuff guys! Are you dropping tjones in 14 man leagues too?

I’m debating whether to drop mo will, larkin or tjones for c.lee or frye, but iIts a h2h league with only 25 pick ups on the year (and I’ve used 9 already). Thinking of saving them for trade deadline and playoff time, but don’t want to lose every week. What should I do?

    Thanks!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@jonny: Thanks man! Yeah, kinda thinking he should be cut. Oh in 25 moves, nah I’d hold on and hope for the best, Lee could fade easily as well

  14. Eddie Rooskie says:
    (link)

Hey JB, wanted to get your thoughts on this trade that just processed in my league:

    AD, Wade, and Conley
    For
    Westy, Carroll, and Beverley

I guess you could say there’s some injury risk on the AD side but still it seems very lopsided in my opinion. What do you think?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Eddie Rooskie: Yeah I like AD side a good bit more as well, but I don’t think it’s near vetoable or anything

  15. dem ribbies says:
    (link)

Dude just dropped Tim Duncan in my 10 teamer.

Kind of scratching my head. He’s still plenty rosterable in spite of the DNP’s right?

Would you prefer him over Ed Davis??

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@dem ribbies: Oh yeah, def gotta pick him up. At least it’ll make you feel better if you have to drop him in the fantasy playoffs haha

  16. Lucas says:
    (link)

Hey JB, need some help with my team.

the guy that owns AD is looking to trade him…would you trade favors and wiggins for him?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Lucas: Yup! I bet some others would think it’s more a slam dunk than I would since I like Wiggins a ton, but I’ll still call it a very strong lay up haha

  17. Adam

    Adam says:
    (link)

I’ll go Kemba for the 30 Challenge. Derozan definitely seems like the easy bet though lol

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Adam: Hah yeah, well Lowry and DeRozan both got us a 27 and 28 respectably for each other. We both went back!

  18. dom says:
    (link)

Lmaooo the rotoworld hate for Wiggins has reached a new level, with the most recent blurb totally playing us Wiggins owners saying he’s “one of the more overrated players to those not privy to how fantasy value works”.

It is frustrating he can’t get more blocks/steals/boards with that incredible athleticism. Does he just not have the defensive anticipatory skills or something? Or is the criticism that he isn’t assertive/aggressive enough true? Either way he’s a fun player to own in that I enjoy watching him play. Also I’m privy to my 7-0 start so rotoworld can suck it

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@dom: Haha this feud has been pretty funny. There’s still value in stats, but they don’t call DeAndre Jordan overrated just because you have to punt a stat with him, it’s just assumed.

I think he looks just fine, and D stats are coming. I also think his FG% continues to climb as does Ft volume and %. I love watching him play too, and on teams needing scoring, 1 stl, 1 blk, and a great volume of decent FT%, he’s a great fit

      • dom says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: yeah I agree the efficiency is trending up. and the blurbs will always be like he’s better suited for points leagues without mentioning how often he gets to the line.

I was offered Favors for Reggie Jackson… I countered back with Jackson + Whiteside for Favors + Draymond

10 team 9 cat, lineup structure and my players qualify as

PG Bledsoe, Jackson, Clarkson, Beverley (streamer)
SG Harden, Bledsoe, Jackson, Clarkson, W Matthews, Wiggins
SF Crowder, T Harris, Wiggins, W Matthews, Marvin Williams
PF Millsap, Porzingis, Whiteside, T Harris, MarvWill, Dieng (streamer)
        C Whiteside, Gobert, Porzingis, Dieng
        UTIL

I mean I suppose it could leave me relatively thin at PG with just the two non-streamers? Not in a hurry to break up this squad although at some point might look to trade Whiteside with Gobert’s return. Thanks for your input!

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@dom: Oh for sure. And when he gets steals and blocks, since neither are 4 or 5, it’s just glossed over.

Well I kinda doubt your counter works, but yeah the original is fine in a vacuum but doesn’t fit your needs. I think you’re fine to hold or reach high like the counter. Any time!

  19. Rob says:
    (link)

Kemba Walker for the 30 point challenge

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

      @Rob: Nice! couple Kembas now

  20. jdubs says:
    (link)

    hey JB, streamer question!

Coming into thursday, I’m close in FT%, 3PM, REBs, and Blks. 14 team 9 cat H2H. Trying to decide whether to flip Manu (1 game) for someone else on the waivers and I have one more move this week… anyone worth picking up?

    Jeremy Lamb ( 2 games)
    Mozzy (2 games)
    Channing Frye (2 games)
    Terrence Ross(3 games)
Pat Pat (3 games…already has Slim’s stamp of approval!)

Thanks for the help as always. Verrry slim pickin’s for the 30 point challenge today… for the sake of variety give me Kobe! I’m pretty sure kobe is either gonna hit 30 or 11 on 4-18 shooting hahahah

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@jdubs: Hahaha well thanks for listening man! The PitPat add for Slim was hilarious. Whew, between him and Lamb probably, I think Patterson’s upside for 3 games worth is the nice add. Nice, sounds good for Kobe!

  21. Matty

    Matty says:
    (link)

    Good afternoon, gentlemen.

JB: Was that the mascot in the background?
Slim: Don’t call her that – that’s my girlfriend.

    Awesome.

Gimme Sweet Lou Williams to drop 30+ on the Rox tonight.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Matty: Hahahaha I mayyyyybe should’ve asked Slim if I should edit that. We haven’t had the mascot on in a while! Ohohohooh, Sweet Lou would be a crazy call if it works!

      • Slim

        Slim says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Hehe, it’s all good. She was half asleep and not paying attention at all anyway.

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Slim: Haha it was a pretty funny exchange in hindsight

  22. Hamtime says:
    (link)

Drop Henson, Burks, or Marcus Morris to stash smart? Seems like he’ll be back in 2 weeks. Or is his spot more useable for streaming (3 adds per week)

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Hamtime: I like all of those more right now, prob holding all 3, maybe Henson goes once Moose is back

  23. The Gintern says:
    (link)

I think Kendall Marshall is worth a look if assists are a dire need. Slim mentioned that he’s coming along slowly which is true, but I figure worst case he gives 4-5 assists even in his limited minutes, and without hurintg FT% and TOs like Wroten does. I know the staff saying they want him to start doesn’t mean much, but it does seem like he’d be a better fit because of his passing ability, sort of like a real NBA version of TJ…

Anywho, Kobe claims to have been feeling better on the floor the past few games so I’m also gonna take him in the 30pt challenge tonight.

Trying to move Duncan so I don’t end up stuck with him for fantasy playoffs- any good PG targets you recommend, or should I just try to find a team that wants blocks boards and fg% and go from there?

    Thanks!!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@The Gintern: In a super deep league, sure. But I don’t see it worth the investment in 12 or even 14ers right now, when you could do better streaming. Ah, Kobe got kinda close! Ummm, Dragic is a decent buy low, maybe Teague while cold, but you’d likely need a sweetener, but yeah I look at league stats then go from there. Any time!

      • the gintern says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Yeah oops I keep forgetting my league isn’t the standard, I’m in a 16er w/ once a week FAAB so streaming choices are poor and it doesn’t really make sense to stream… Larkin just fell to waivers, definitely worth picking up right? Would probably send Dwight Powell or Bookworm or, ugh, Marshall out the door…

I’ve been trying to strike a deal with Dragic’s owner for a week or two now, hopefully it will come to fruition. Teague is a good call too, thanks for the advice as always!

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@the gintern: Ahhhh then yeah, Marshall is solid in a league like that 🙂 But yeah, def getting Larkin, like him over all 3 of those, Powell is probably the drop though. There’s a guy I told people to cool off on that never panned out! Any time!

  24. Phranque (pronounced Frank) says:
    (link)

    Hi Guys,
    1) I’ve been offered IBAKA & KEMBA for my J. WALL. I need some help with my BIGS (I’ve got GOBERT sitting on the bench counting towels and interpreting the French menu from Le Cafe T’out Suite). I’m inclined to do it. Your Thoughts?

    2) What do you make of FELTON? I picked him off the WW and if I were religious, I’d swear he’s the poster boy for a second coming. Are the MAVS featuring him for a move? Were he and Jason KIDD close in NY? (Passing him to a BUCK?).

    3) Who do you think will have more value ROS….C.PARSONS or JRUE H.?
    Thanks.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Phranque (pronounced Frank): 1. Haha, yeah if you have good PG depth with good AST, totally good with it. 2. Haha well minutes will be tough when Parsons and Matthews are at 100% as well as the backup PG/SG guys, and I dunno what he could bring in a trade. Worth a hold for now. 3. I’ll lean Parsons but very close

  25. Patty Mills Is My Homeboy says:
    (link)

I was going to go with Kemba for 30 but that seems a pretty popular pick.. I’ll go Marcus Thornton for the hail mary.

    • Patty Mills Is My Homeboy says:
      (link)

@Patty Mills Is My Homeboy: Worst hail may ever! DNP town.

In light of Terrence Jones’ one good game would you be rushing to pick him up? Would you rather him or Alec Burks?

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@Patty Mills Is My Homeboy: Hahaha, well a hail mary tried is better than none at all! I’ll stick with Burks, it is keeping Tjones on the edge of relevance tho haha

  26. miles proudfoot says:
    (link)

Drop TJones for Courtney Lee.? I still can’t see to cut him in2/3 leagues.

    • miles proudfoot says:
      (link)

@miles proudfoot: also, would rather have KCP or Mirotic?

        • miles proudfoot says:
          (link)

@miles proudfoot: and tJones. Sorry for the multiple posts!

          • JB Gilpin

            JB Gilpin says:
            (link)

@miles proudfoot: Hah no worries! If needing production now, totally fine going for Lee. wow, I think KCP! Crazy! It’s not the same league is it? I would rather own Miro than tjones and c lee if so…

  27. Andrew Ringer says:
    (link)

I’ll go with kemba for 30 tonight against my raptors. Either way I’m happy 🙂

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Andrew Ringer: Hah well tough to feel happy after that time out right before game winner!

  28. Dante Green says:
    (link)

I have a question about streaming a player an hour before a particular game and if you could put him in the lineup right away. I just noticed that ESPN doesn’t allow you to use the player you just picked up a few hours before the game. I mean is it always like this? How about in Yahoo? Usually news comes out if a certain player won’t be able to suit up a couple of hours before the game, which happened with Mo and Shump so I picked up Delavoda 45 mins before their game but ESPN didn’t allow me to put him in the lineup even tho the it hasn’t locked up yet. What a bummer

    • Ryan says:
      (link)

@Dante Green: It’s not like that in all ESPN leagues. We lock at the start of the first game in my game, and as a result, we see some crazy add/drop shenanigans. Some of us routinely add players within minutes of the first game only to instantly drop them after tipoff.

So yeah, it’s possible to do this in ESPN. Your LM must have set the add/drop lock 3 hours before tipoff or something.

@Dante Green: @Ryan: Yeah it’s totally up to how the league is set up. yahoo standard/RCLs are pickups as “Daily-Tomorrow” which means you can add a guy any time, but only gets on your roster by the next day. Also as Ryan says, there are leagues that lock after the first game’s tip, so maybe you got Delly after the Hornets game tipped

What are we thinking re: Casspi these days? Kinda the new Fournier? How would you rank him amongst all those hot wings/guards out there like Barton (well, I aint ever dropping this guy), M Barnes, Burkes, Felton, Lou Will and Mayo. Mm, hot wings…

Haha oh man, so much hatred for Jack. @Slim saying that he’s not bad and not good is a little strong, no? Poor Jack. I have him on my squad (shallow roto) and he’s not at all droppable, but not quite tradeable either, so I kinda feel the pain owning him. His 7asts, out of positions brds and new found 3s are fine though. That 41%fg is a little fluky as he’s got a great midrange jumper and it should trend up a couple of percents.

I recently traded my Bradley for Monta and Ellis has responded really well in the 3 games I’ve had him. Think this run should last? I’m hoping for something in the 16.5/3/4.5 and 2stl region..

Last one: is T Harris someone I should be trying to ship away? Love his value when he’s logging 30mins but we all know which coach he plays for. AND what to do with Teague? I’d imagine that you’d rate Kemba higher these days, yeah? In order, we’d be talking Curry, Westy, Wall, Bledsoe, then..?

@Lasandro: Mehhhhh, I dunno about that, maybe Fournier what he is now haha. Hah not quite in that range, well maybe Felton. I guess Barnes is close. In an 8er I get the pain, but most ppl play in 10 or 12. Yup still love that seal! Maybe the 16.5 is high, rest is def solid though. Yeah prob taking Kemba. Well lowry is right in that class with those 4. Depends obviously what you’d get from harris, seems fine for now

RazzGod, are you a believer of Shumpert? Currently I want rpg, 1spg, 1.5 3pg. Who is more probably to give me those stats and/or who has better value Rodney Hood or Iman Shumpert?
    Thx in advance!!

@Peaniece: Yo! I think I’ll stick with hood. I know Shump got hurt, but I don’t trust the minutes even when healthy

        @JB Gilpin:
JB, sorry but I have another Rodney Hood question. Don’t get me wrong, I actually like him and he had a good game! Its just that I’m greedy 😛 and right now he’s the weakest on my roster. Now that marcus smart is nearing his return, should I stash him instead of rodney hood (I’m just looking at value now because trading is easy). Also, I’m punting turnovers so how about tony wroten perhaps? Is Allen Crabbe or Jerryd Bayless anywhere in the conversation? Thanks in advance, once again!!!

@Peaniece: Hah no worries! Totally understand, he’s def no stand out to me either. Nah, Crabbe and Bayless are prob out for me. Trouble with Wroten is he hurts the %s so bad too and I dunno when we see minutes get unleashed. I just dunno if Smart even when 100% is that much of a Hood upgrade, and you still have to wait a while, I’d hold
