1. hi JB. Picked up Tjones based on his “strong” tease of a performance today. The pelicans literally have nobody up front to help AD, and I think tjones can actually be solid now that gentry seems to trust him a little more.

That being said, do you foresee him outplaying ilyasova ROS? My team seems to be a punt pts/3s team (tho I have lowry, crowder, bazemore and covington), but will need to let either ilya or tjones go once crowder is off the IR. thoughts?

2. drop hield, pbev, or nance jr. for henson in my 16m? Its FAAB bidding. i overspent and bid $24 for mirotic yday (which I won – second closest was $17). i have a $10 bid on henson – should i go more? haha

Going off a previous thread elsewhere, I dropped Nurk and RoCo for Kieff and Capela in my 10 team 14 cat roto. Need the brds and multi cat upside without smashing my efficiency..

Thoughts on my squad pwease:

D’Angelo (uuuuuugggghhh)
Avery (honestly still one of my best rebounders #notafluke)
Gorgui (need him flirting closer to a dub dub to warrant high rank)
Kemba
Harden
Goose (if he plays more center like he did today, those brds should increase)
Tobias
Lin (O)
Crowder (O)
Jrue (O)
Otto
Kieff
Capela (if he gets 25-30min per, I have no prob rostering him)

As I mentioned in the other thread, Tyson C is on the waivers so if Capela doesn’t show me something in the next two games, I’ll try and grab the old man for those brds. Also, did I mention Avery??

@JB Gilpin: Yay again – and two in a row for me 🙂 Kemba hitting those last two FTs with 11 seconds to go was JUST enough. That game actually had a ton of high scorers in it..

..Except for my boy Gorgui of course. I dunno man – he’s such a terrific low post player but that starting 5 is bereft with offensive-minded players. He’s the ultimate decoy player for them, always setting picks and rolling, only for Lavine or Wiggs to swing the ball across the arc. There was one possession where he sealed Zeller perfectly, received the pass, and threw it down on him for an and-1. I’m like “how are you not running this play for him at least once a quarter??” Anyways, I really do hope he gets 10 shot attempts per game, moving forward. Would like his stls to increase too, but yeah.. I guess drafting him as my first big after BroLo and Goose has given me higher expectations. Still happy having him on my squad.

I just need to flip one of my guards (listed above) for an elite rebounder. Been chasing guys like Love, Gortat, but no one wants none of that D’Angelo action haha. Hell, I even pitched Tobias for Gortat but that owner wasn’t interested.. weird, considering he’s leading in all rebounding cats and needs a scoring wing badly. @Slim was right to say on the pod that rebounders dried up real quick in this year’s drafts. I’ll be sure to take that into account next season. Nurk was supposed to be one of my 10+ rebound guys smh. Imagine if the Knicks actually start playing Goose more at the 5, like the last game. His brds are gonna skyrocket! Sure hope they do.

Jrue is back this Friday, yaaaay! Man, I dont care how bad he starts off. I am ALL IN on supporting this man this season. Unless he gets injured ha. But just before I snatched him off the wire a couple of weeks ago, I was doing some research on his status and stumbled upon a video posted on twitter by his trainer of him doing some workouts in the gym and weights room, stating that he’s getting ready to come back real soon. Not even Rotoworld had mentioned this, so I was kinda proud of my sleuthing. Also checked out his instagram and saw all these nice pics of he and his wife – such a cute couple. Picked him up immediately, then played Madonna’s “Holiday” to celebrate the occasion.

@JB Gilpin: Pscht, I’m still tryna trade his ass. I would buy majorly low on Parsons.. but I need to see some more mins outta him. What if I flipped Dangelo for Ariza? Scoring will be an obvious loss, but I dont need the assists and Trev should be able to help me elsewhere, right? Or flip Otto for Ariza, for them stls?

Great podcast, JB! Slowly starting to emerge from the malaise and you and Slim and some fantasy hoops are helping.

You brought up Gordon on the pod and I’m wondering if he’s still a hold in 10-team leagues for you. He doesn’t seem like a guy who is going to be detrimental anywhere, but he hasn’t yet come up big in the young season either. I can envision him being the last guy on my roster in a week or two, so he might go for a streaming spot. Are you still keeping the faith with Gordon?

Have a good week, man. And thanks for all the great content in this mad world!

@Jeremy:

Btw I decided to keep Embiid and not trade for oladipo after the game last night. Oladipo is really struggling while embiid continues to produce. Even when oladipo trends back up, there’s no telling that he will beat embiid in production.

Also with nurk struggling, I only have Gobert as my true big, should probably keep embiid.
I have cp3, irving, booker, and avery bradley as my guards so I’m feeling good there. Was punting assists but so far have won 2 weeks in assists lol. CP3 is just too good.

@JB Gilpin:

Haha I wouldn’t mind, I scooped him up in all my leagues hoping for a whiteside/gobert/larry sanders emergence . I just remember missing out on all of them back then and it still hurts right now, so not this time! Praying that he won’t be a bust. I will take 8 pts 8 rebs, 1 steal, 1.8 blocks the rest of the way and I’m happy.

Yea his TOs are meh, but I have been middle of the pack so far probably cuz of CP3 and his ridiculous A/T ratio lol

Give me Kyrie for 30 tonight. he’s had so many 29 point games this season on 30 point challenge nights, but tonight will be different! Hopefully!

Gonna to try to be different just coz don’t need to put down money on this.

I’ll go Kyle Lowry. Torch might have been passed to Derozan but I think vs CLE and how he’s done so well against this team, I’ll take a chance on him getting that 1st big scoring game for the season.

Hope I’m not too late! I finally figured out the rules to this game (picked Damian Lillard last time lol). So I will go with Jimmy Buckets. He better get 30 for my fantasy team’s sake. Dieng, Nurkic, Parsons all giving me anxiety these past 7-10 games.

@JashFath: You and me both, Jimmy coming up just short for us. At least he still helped out our fantasy teams, not a bad line last night besides the lack of steals. I’ll let it pass this time…

@JB Gilpin: @JB Gilpin: @Slim: Yeah, no 30 points, but still a good scoring night for our teams! He saved my matchup from early peril after my Dion Waiters streamer took a dump on the chest of my FG% and TO. In fact, the 3 players who played before Butler (Waiters, Dieng, T-Johnson) combined for 16 TOs…. 16 TOs! None of those guys are PGs either! So Buckets took my 1-10 back to a 5-5-1. Thank you Jimmy B, thank you.
