An injury plagued past couple of nights unfortunately highlights the Razzball Hoops pod today, as we recap those who went down and the fantasy impact.  We are then joined by Pete Nice, our Boards-N-Blocks author, to talk a little big men (hah!) and other noteworthy performances from Wednesday night.  Pete joins the fun for this week’s edition of Higher/Lower, which certainly sounded like he was playing from a special brownie factory.  Always a spot for ya on the baseball Pod with Grey!  We then preview tonight’s games with our 30-Point Challenge picks, and wrap up the week at the movies.

@Backyard (but maybe bye bye) Boogie?: Hmmmm first is close, 2nd means you become a complete punt, but rid yourself of a ton of TO. Even with Wall I dunno if I’d do the 2nd one, what’s the format?

@Backyard BOOGIE: Aight so yeah I think I am holding on both offers. I like the idea of getting Dray, but I think you could get a throw in with that deal

    Hi JB,

    1. You prefer Ezeil or Corey Joseph in a 14m/9cat? Who has more value, and would you cut either for mcdermott?

    2. Sadly dropped myles turner for Capella and Kelly O for Winslow in my 16m/11cat. WCS is available for now on FA. Would you cut lou will for him?

3.Tjones for middleton given his recent struggles or try and ride it out?

    4. burks or bjelica? Also, do you see any of the blazers stepping up? like harkless or vonleh?

    5. ibaka + mo will or collison for lowry + plumlee – who wins

    Thanks man!!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

@hamtime: 1. Vacuum Cojo but toally need dependant. 2. Yeahhhh, rough one. If you have good D stats nah 3. Still rolling dice on tjones. 4. Still Burks. Too early to tell, if that 16er I might roll dice on Vonleh 5. I like Ibaka side. Any time!

  4. Dirk's Digglers says:

Razzup JB and Slim. 14 team 16 man roster H2H league only play 10 each week. Currently have Turner as plug and play reserve and wondering whether should drop for World Peace in similar role? Or is it worth stashing Turner for potential upside in 2nd half of season?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

@Dirk’s Digglers: Razzup man?! Nah, all in the streaming class for me, I’d keep that spot rolling

  5. James says:

Thanks for the podcast, great as usual. JB, Slim, Pete, and any other commentator or commenter, I have a drop question for you all. I’m in a 12 team 13 cat (8 standard + OREB DREB FGA FGM and A2TO) H2H 5 keeper league. We run 11 man daily lineups with 4 bench spots and 4 INJ spots. I have T Jones and Afflalo currently occupying 2 of my INJ spots and am trying to ease them into my roster when they start producing. Here is my current roster (I punt FT%):
    RJackson, IT2/3, Elfrid, Monta
Batum, KCP, Aaron Gordon, Crowder, Stanley Johnson
Drummond, Jefferson, Porzingis, Mason Plumlee, Pachulia, Dieng
So my bottom 5 are Pachulia, A Gordon, Crowder, Stanley Johnson, and Dieng. Who would you drop to activate T Jones and who to drop (if anyone) to activate Afflalo? My initial thought is to drop Dieng and Stanley Johnson, who are both underperforming (but so is A Gordon).

    Thanks for the help.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@James: Yup I was thinking those same two stick out to me as well. Even though Dieng fits the format well, just isn’t playing enough. He’s out first to me, then prob StanJo once you feel good about second guy to activate

      • Pete Nice

@JB Gilpin: @James: agreed. Dieng is dung!

    Hi,

A trade was offered to me , can you give me some advice if it will benefit me?

His Carmelo Anthony and Kemba Walker for my Roy Hilbert and Jimmy Butler

This looks like a good and fair trade at first but Carmelo seems not as roto friendly as Jimmy and Roy Hilbert actually is quite good with his low TO and high percentages and blocks . I am in 9 cat rotor. Or what other trade would you propose to him?

    My team is
Damian Lillard, Elfrid Payton, Ish Smith, José Calderon
Jimmy Butler, Robert Covington, Gianni Antetekumpo, Danilo Gallinarni, Jermai Grant, Eric Gordon, Nik Strauskus
Greg.Monroe, Roy Hilbert, Andrew Bout, David Lee, Nerlens Noel

    I

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@Michael: I think you’re analysis is correct. Melo and Kemba are hurting the guys FG% way too much and he’s trying to deal them. And you’re FG% isn’t exactly stellar. Nah, I don’t think those 2 are for you.

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@Michael: @Slim: Agree, Butler is awesome for roto, I’d hold.

btw Elfrid freaking Payton is killing my FG percentages.wtf is 0.077 FG%

    • Slim

am stuck on batum k walker or knight… need assist and 3’s

do u rate dirk or okafor better in term of value

    plumlee or lopez…

    9 cat roto…

    thanks!

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@TheJohn: I’ll go Knight. Sure the assists are a smidge lower than Kemba but he’s been playing much better.

Ugh… Do I have to? In roto I’m taking Dirk. He isn’t a poor FT, TO guy like Okafor and the DNP-rest days don’t hurt nearly as much as with H2H.

Lopez > Plumlee in roto. Those FT killers just aren’t worth having around.

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@TheJohn: @Slim: Yeah Knight looked great last night, with 3s a need, he’s looking like a great bet to destroy Kemba there. I def think it’s Dirk. And yeah Roto you have to go Rolo

  9. kb24 says:

What do you think about picking up Tyler Johnson in 12 teamers?

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@kb24: Nah, not yet. If he sees 28 minutes with Wade and Green playing then my answer would change to an emphatic yes. But I don’t quite see that happening. If Wade went down I imagine Green starts so they can stagger Dragic and Johnsons minutes, but I’m pretty sure it would hit that 28 number I threw out.

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:

@kb24: @Slim: Yeah nice streamer, but like Slim said, no Wade or Green last night and they’re not long term out

would you trade Clarkson + collison for Al jef ?

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@nont nontiskul: I get the idea and the Jefferson owner might do it considering how Charlotte has really messed with his minutes. But I’m still sticking with those 2 in the long run.

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@nont nontiskul: @Slim: Depends on team, if you’re loaded at PG and really need a big, I have no issue with it

          (link)

@nont nontiskul: @Pete Nice: Well I think Bosh looks awesome and he’s not exactly injury prone. I indeed would take Vucevic, but I don’t consider Bosh a sell-high, I think the 2 are REALLY close

    hey pal

watched blakes mangina come out in full force tonight for the clippers haha

ended up streaming crawford tonight and he had a pretty decent game, do i need to hold him for a couple days or can i continue to stream…8 teamer

    thanks man

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@sliimbo: You can continue to stream the spot. LAC plays on Saturday but then doesn’t play again until the 19th. No need to hold him for that stretch, especially in an 8er.

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:

@sliimbo: @Slim: Hah yeah it didn’t seem too bad to me, refs kinda thin skin… Agree the spot is open for streaming in 8er

@Sam Celtics fan: Whats up man? I would want Bosh, if you’re the Bosh owner, I would want more back even with Dragic a nice buy low.

  14. Kurt says:
    (link)

Hey guys! Loving the podcast as always…any chance of going Mon/Wed/Fri and squeezing an extra 40 minutes of fantasy goodness a week? There’s not enough fantasy basketball coverage out there compared to baseball and football. You guys at Razzball are our saving grace!

Two questions indirectly related. I’m holding McCollum at $1 this year and next (then +$10 each year after) in an 11-cat H2H keeper, with DD and FGMI the added cats. $200 salary cap. Looking to add a few assists and wanted to know roughly where I should target. Obviously I can’t run through everybody’s salaries, but is an un-keepable Conley a decent target, or shooting too high/low talent-wise? Lawson’s out there as well.

I also currently have 6 keepers fairly set (Davis, Wall, Gobert, Towns, Kristaps for $124 next year), with McCollum, Dwight Powell and Dante Exum competing for the last 2 spots. The latter 2 are $1 next year and the year after. Who ya got?

    Thanks for the help!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Kurt: Thanks for listening man! Well for right now, it’s all we can schedule as Slim and I both work full time “real” jobs so it’s tough finding the time in our schedules. I’ve always hoped to do daily, but real life is a killer man! Haha. We’ll try and expand next yr.

$1 for a guy as hot as McCollum is right now for this and next yr I think should warrant more back. I’d shoot a little higher. Ummmm, whew tough call there, I would likely go Powell, but if Dirk is gung-ho about playing a ton again, might go Exum if he looks good in preseason off rehabbing the knee.

Hi JB and Slim, got a waiver pickup question. Which of the following has the best overall value ROS?
Luol Deng, Lou Williams, Jeremy Lin

    Thanks for the help!

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@Wen: Hmm… 1st I’m going with Sweet Lou > Lin, so he’s off the list. The Heat are so much deeper than last year at Deng’s position, I don’t see his minutes getting better any time soon. I’ll go with Lou Williams.

      • Wen says:
        (link)

@Slim: Thanks for the fast reply, Slim. What about between CJ Miles and JR Smith? Who would you pick up?

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Slim: @Wen: I was gonna say Lou too, but Deng is last for me. Very blah. Hmmmm, I think at this point I’ll go Miles ROS
