Who are your top 5 to 10 players to target at the middle/end of the draft based on position/value?

    Always love the advice! Thanks!

@Bryce Krispie Treats: Let’s see, not in a particular order I would say Giannis Antetokounmpo, Markieff Morris, Terrence Jones, Rodney Stuckey, John Henson, Jameer Nelson, and Draymond Green. Thanks man, glad you stopped by!

@derek: Eesh very very close. Well, you’re gonna lose FT anyway, so Drummond isn’t a bad pickup. What I worry about is your PG depth if you move Rose, even though he’s not a prototypical PG. I think I’d do it though, then try to flip someone for one extra decent PG

Don’t diss my boy Tristan! Brampton, Ontario!

Maccabi is solid though, they won the Euroleague – they could at least beeat the Celtics and Sixers!

Thanks for addressing Lawson. I think he’ll be good to go and now I feel good again about looking for him at 24/25.

@CTMN: Haha sorry man! Just too fun 🙂

Yeah, while they’re good and could compete against the worst teams, I still feel like it was probably a play-at-60% kind of game for both sides. No one wants to get hurt in that. More slamming it for that rather than Tel Aviv being bad.

Lawson yeah looks good, same for Jrue, great to see!

      • CTMN says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Yeah you guys convinced me pretty much that Jrue is a solid pick, so I might go with him over MCW at 48/49 if I have to pick between them…MCW is a bit of a risk.

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@CTMN: Can’t fault that at all – yes I agree I think Jrue is safer. But you know I love me some MCW 🙂

I just posted and don’t see it so I hope this isn’t redundant. we protect 8 and I have four guards (wall/westbrook/holliday/rose) with high turnover #s. I have the second pick and am in need of 3s and some rebounds. considering taking jabari parker and punting turnovers or taking ryan Anderson with first pick who fits the 3/rebound/low t.o. profile. what do you think. 12 teamer.

    • JB Gilpin

@jhm: Sorry about that! Yeah it’s a spam filter, or else bots will take over the comments haha. I took out your first one 🙂

Since Rose is that 4th PG, I’m taking Parker. I probably would take Jabari in any situation over Anderson as I like him a lot this year.

      Thanks for stopping by!

        Excellent.
Are there any 3 pt / low t.o players available late that would not have been reflected by slim’s projections. I was killed by injuries last year – what about channing frye and gallinardi?
Appreciate your advise and wont double post.
        Thanks

@jhm: Well if you were killed by injuries, I’d avoid Frye! Sprained his MCL already and missing a lot of preseason action. But if he looks decent in the last preseason game or two, is a good target. I like Danilo late too. Other options that maybe Slim and I differ on… I can’t really think of any, love Teletovic as maybe a last pick for treys, I think Jameer Nelson could get under 2 TOs (Slim has him for 2.1 3s and 2.1 TO) given the team he’s on and the ball in Dirk and Monta’s hands a lot. Hope that helps!

Got this team in a Yahoo Buy In with my friends where we graduated from a 6 year bragging rights league only and now stakes are higher in season 7….14 Team, 15 Man roster, 9 Cat League….I’m a fan of yours and would like to know what does this team lack and whats yer take on Valanciunas, Miles Plumlee, Javale McGee and Mo Williams at this point of the Pre-season. Thanks!

    LeBron James CLE SF PF
    Paul Millsap ATL PF C
    Mike Conley MEM PG
    Kemba Walker CHA PG
    Terrence Jones HOU SF PF
    Jonas Valanciunas TOR C
    Brandon Knight MIL PG SG
    J.R. Smith NY SG SF
    Wesley Johnson LAL SG SF
    Miles Plumlee PHO PF C
    Mo Williams MIN PG SG
    Ramon Sessions SAC PG SG

@hisXLNZ: Nice team! Since 14 teamer, I think you have enough PG depth there, especially with BronBron helping assists. Valanciunas – meh… I think he’ll be decent again and that’s about all I got. Plumlee as a late pick is fine since you needed the blocks, but I really like the McGee and McDaniels picks late. Might want to keep an eye on Len behind Plumlee, I have a feeling he could be a useful player at some point this year. Think you’re actually competitive in blocks even though you didn’t get any of the typical big men. I think Mo will be a sell high is he does anything at all early in the year. Wolves should be inconsistent and want to play a lot of Rubio/LaVine in the second half to develop. Any time!

@JB Gilpin: gotcha! I am thinking of trading away JV for either Kief or Hawes….I love me some out of pos treys, will this be a good sell high moment for me or do I wait for the actual season? And whos a better pg/sg to trade with, rjax or alec b? Thanks again….

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@hisXLNZ: JV for Kief I’m totally down for. Might not for Hawes though. I’d much rather RJax over Burks, but you might be able to get Burks cheaper if looking for depth there.

Got a question for you guys:

Who would you want for your last pick flier big man Dieng or Sims?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Sio: Definitely depends on needs, but as a late pick flier Dieng in almost all circumstances. Unless you’re totally loaded in blocks and need a more stable guy, then I’d consider Sims

      • Sio says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: haha sorry forgot to qualify that… as it turns out i’m totally solid in blocks! Thanks man!

        • JB Gilpin

          @Sio: Aha, yup Sims then!

I’m pumped the Mirotic Thrillers received the podcast stamp of approval. Igoudala’s been one of “my guys” for like a decade, so drafting him is kind of a ritual at this point. I’m just hoping for a smattering of steals and assists mostly. I didn’t include where I drafted everyone strictly out of laziness, haha. I figure as long as the baby’s cute nobody really needs to hear how it was made.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

@Clyde Prompto: Haha no problem on where you got em, nice analogy! People might not NEED to hear how it was made, but if its a hot couple they might WANT to 🙂

Why the hate for Ben Gordan lol? I think I may grab him in round 16

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Snacks13: Haha, we just have some irrational people to hate. I think the deal he got by Orlando makes him easy to make fun of too (got $9 mil! Shoudla gotten a vet minimum). But yea, irrational like my Robin Lopez hate. Even though he’s a useful player. Round 16 in a deeper league, I’d probably get different sleepers but that late, no issue at all.

      • Snacks13 says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Do you think Troy Daniels gets a rotation spot this year?

Also, is there any value with Jason Terry, Marcus Thornton or Anthony Morrow this year?

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Snacks13: Nah, Canaan should be the main backup PG with Nick Johnson maybe smattering in a few mins at 1. Obviously depends on the league, I think I’d go for other sleepers over those guys even in the deepest leagues. Thornton if you needed threes and might get a little featured early on for a trade.
